Food and service was great. They have a really nice atmosphere. However, I did find the place to be very over priced.

Bar Isabel is one of the greatest experiences you can get at a restaurant. They value their patrons' experience down to the finest detail and the food+drink is always, *always* very, very tasty. This type of commitment to quality is very rare. We continue to come back time and time again for this very reason. Thank you to the owners and staff for keeping this true gem of a restaurant truly world class.

Went there yesterday for the first time for my birthday. Food was beyond amazing. The bone marrow and the octopus is a must try!!

I have been coming here since the opening year. Food and service is always on point. Staff truly appreciates the workplace and the overall guest experience. Food is always perfect and is super consistent. Never had a bad experience this one is a must check out if you havent. One of the best joints in the city hands down.

Nice restaurant with exceptional food. The place isn't too big so for dinner I would recommend making a reservation. I made one for 6pm when it opened and within 30mins it was packed. Stand out food for myself that I ordered oysters ( I recommend getting 12 because 6 was a tease) and fideo chicken stew with smoked chorizo

I think I just had the best meal I have ever had in my entire life. Me and my partner asked for a $80/person tasting menu and everything was beyond our expectations. Such a gem.

The menu can be a little daunting, but the food is equisit. The octopus is a MUST. The fresh bread is great, as well as the Chirizo.

Not what it once was. Having coming back 3 times now, the quality of food has fallen, so ever slightly. It is still a place to definitely visit while stopping in Toronto, but to say that it was the same Bar Isabel who showed up on Canada's best is a stretch.

We only had a chance to pick up some bread and desserts for take out at this time. They were amazing! Very tasty and good quality.

I know why it fell from top1 to top12 in 2017. The bread is hot outside and cold inside. The octopus is not fresh. The service is worse than last year. The price is more expensive. Last year it was 50 per capita and this year 80 per capita.

Good food, fast service, nice people. The only thing is I may have a crack in my skull from the noise level... Deafening.

A friend reccomended this restaurant as a good place for a date and it was wonderful. All of the food was excellent and fresh, which made for a delicious meal. The service was astonishing, our server was a very friendly woman (I can't recall her name but she had dark black hair and had tattoos on her arm), she was always around when needed but never interrupted the conversation or intruded on the night. I love gin and nothing was super popping out from their drinks menu so she offered to get the bar tenders to mix me up something else and they made a very nice cocktail. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends, especially with the phenomenonal service.

One of the best food ive had. Love everything on the menu. Must haves: octopus, ceviche, rib-eye..Definitely for sure the basque cake. Absolutely the best thing ever

Went recently with a friend and we sat at the bar. I throughly enjoyed the dining room and the staff was fantastic. The woman who next us was not satisfied with one of her dishes and the staff handled it very well quickly getting her something else.

My friend and I had 7 dishes and a few cocktails each. Was definitely on the pricey side but I will be going back.

Maybe we're the only people in Toronto who are not impressed with Bar Isabel ... but we really thought it nothing more than average.

Let's start with SERVICE: we found our waiter aggressive at best. His recommendations we obviously aimed at selling us more food, not at giving us best experience. Second waiter at one point, while I was in the middle of my meal, asked me to give him my knife bcos he was trying to clean up the table ... which I refused bcos I was in the middle of using it. Yeah, that was weird.

FOOD: If you've not had a good steak anywhere else, you'd think their $79 18oz rib eye steak was all that, but frankly it's just a piece of meat. Good meat, but that's it. Charcuterie is kinda nothing to write home about either (you'll get more interesting selection at Buca). Vegetable dishes were very yummy though. Dessert was pretty unimpressive (blood orange sorbet).

ATMOSPHERE AND DRINKS: Atmosphere is very nice. Cozy and comfortable. Cocktails are excellent too.

Overall, our impression was negative on the service and fairly unimpressive on the food. Maybe we would go there again, but only for drinks.

Bar Isabel is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The food here is incredible, so different and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend for a date night or special event.

Why oh whyyyyyyyyyyy are the people of Toronto so impressed by mediocrity ??? Food is way overpriced for what was served $22 for the meat and cheese plate !!! Not even a well presented board for that price . I won t go over every plate we had because because they were all the same... totally lacking in quality . Place is way too loud !! I sat there just looking at the other tables and just wondered how quick we are to get caught up in the hype . There is absolutely no reason to go back there and that s why this review is written .

Your money will go further at other places and your level of enjoyment will be much better .

I m really disappointed in what people consider a good place to eat these days . Why have our standards dropped so much ?

Place decorated in an old Spanish bar periods we order drinks be prepared for a heafty price of $16 per drink, have been told that is quality alcohol and 90% of a drink is alcohol. I found one drink with no alcohol whatsoever . after requiring Avril content of a drink bar manager came up with a full intentions of making us happy and correct the situation. Have to give them credit for that. They did replace the drink. However we found other drinks not being very tasty. Instead of cherry or little umbrella for decoration found and usually huge Ice Cube that look like inch and a half by inch and a half which took most of the room in the glass. Glasses are not particularly decorative or fancy most of the drinks served in the same shape of glass. As I said they did try to make us happy however I still feel there is a lot to be desired.

After a homophobic experience at the Caledonian, the staff was incredibly sweet and understanding. I was so blown away with how accepting and amazing the service was. Thank you so much for turning a terrible night into a wonderful one.

Simply one of the best dining experiences you will have in Toronto. Food is fantastic, portion sizes perfect for sharing a collection of plates. Front of house staff is attentive without being over-eager, a balance that can be tricky to achieve. Make a reservation, treat yourself. Oh, and order a Basque cake.

Friendly service. Bone marrow was interesting and tastes good. Chorizo seemed dry and on the saltier side. Octopus and Steak seemed to have a mushy texture.. as if previously refrozen/thawed.

Food & service was excellent. Had the $75 OP tasting menu and the selection and portions were very satisfying. Went there to celebrate our 1st year wedding anniversary and it was well worth the visit.

The tapas melt in your mouth, and the variety of Israeli food is truly outstanding. You can explore bitters on a sample plate, as well, leaving much room for a bit of revelry on top of satisfying gourmand tastes. Definitely recommend for a fun night out.

Everything was absolutely incredible. Highly, highly recommend. The cheese and meat selection, oysters, Spanish shrimp, beef tongue, octopus and Basque cake are not to be missed!

Went last night after it being highly recommended by some friends and I'm SO glad I did! They managed to fit us in for a 6:30 reso at the last minute.

Atmosphere: Relatively casual, dim lighting, nice music that blends into the background (as it does get busy so you mostly hear people chatting).

Service: A+++++. Staff was very attentive, and provided explanations and suggestions whenever we required them.

The FOOD: YUM! NOM! We ordered the following;

- Bread (obvi... but it's really soft and fresh. Great for soaking up their amazingly flavourful olive oil)

- Adobo Pork & Quail Egg (2pc)
- Beef Carpaccio (best I've ever had)
- Tomato, Anchovy, Basil salad (with hot peppers)
- and some Spanish hard cheese that the name escapes me but it was terrific

We loved EVERYTHING. We would order what we had over again, and then some. Would go back in a heart beat.

By far this is the best restaurant I tried in Toronto. The food was so good and unbelievable. The place is amazing and the bartender Laurine was the soul of the place. Very professional and smiling all the time. It makes a huge difference when the staff are smiling and welcoming and she made sure we are welcomed. All the staff were great and happy.

The chili with lemon and salt was amazing I didn t expect it to be that good.

The patatas were yummy and the fish ceviche was super good. The octopus was delicious as well. I loved every dish I had it was all great. I ll come back for sure.

Out standing! The food is amazing, I did a tasting menu and it was amazing it had to be one of the best meals I have had in years. They offer high quality and variety. The service is fantastic they will ask you what you like and talor the menu to you and they will ask what you like to drink and fraft an one of drink for you and what you are looking for. I highly recommend dinner here. Might not be cheap but it is amazing!

Food and service is fantastic, the only minus is the noise level...the acoustics just make conversation incredibly hard without shouting which in turn makes it louder!

Authentic Spanish food with a great atmosphere. Attentive and very nice staff. Definitely worth trying if you're looking for some high quality authentic Spanish food.
