Arrive in Shanghai earlier than expected, I only wanted to go to the hotel to leave the baggage, but the intimate counter staff directly let us enter the room early, the time to enter the house is about 12:30 noon~ let us not have to find a coffee shop to kill time waiting

The cleanliness of the 1-room cleaning and the bathroom bathtub are also
2-room service meal options are a bit less, and the hotel is forbidden to enter the hotel, there is no place to eat and buy near the hotel, a little inconvenient
3- Open-air bar overlooks the entire Bund, no crowds, no other buildings obscuring the view, just a little windy at night
4-When you enter the room, you will be greeted with hot tea and hot towels immediately. There is no need to queue when you check out. The counter staff is very friendly and efficient.
5- No public transportation near the hotel, please ask the counter staff to book a taxi
Great experience, perfect service and great river view

Hope for the name of Banyan Tree can be felt relax...

Hope for the name of Banyan Tree can be felt relaxed and peaceful in Shanghai.

Hotel staff service is OK, but the overall will still make people feel cold, lobby is not big, I think it is very small, like a 3 star hotel lobby (hands) but just hit the main entrance in the project may Looks like it's broken? !
The soundproofing of the room should not be very good. I was awakened by the party in the next room. The bed and the pillows were too soft, but this is just a personal habit, but as a 5-star restaurant, there are no other pillows to choose from, but the room is comfortable overall. And generous.

At that time, the room rate in the peak season was ranked second (the first one is bulgari, the third one is capella). It is really expensive........... So it is very wrong to find the location of the hotel! !
It is much different from Banyan Tree in other countries.

Although the room is very good, the facilities are very good. The furnishings will make you think that it is the advantage of going to Thailand. If your stay is in the room for a day, I will reluctantly recommend you to go to the hotel. There is a fitness room in the hotel. But not doing sports like a guest)
The swimming pool and three restaurants, the breakfast is semi-self-service, the variety is not too much, but the taste is not bad, there is a maid spa. The price is similar to the one-day price (laugh)

Regarding the geographical location, although on the Bund, if you want to go to the European building, you need to take a taxi. If you don't plug it, it will take ten minutes, but it is usually very stuffy. Opposite the hotel is a residential area. There is a very low mall next to it. There are Starbucks and some restaurants.
It is not recommended to go there! So basically staying in Banyan Tree is going to take a taxi. There is also a Bund walking area in the hotel. There are fewer people because the scenery is not enough to see the beauty /

Summary; I will not live this again.

Albeit the hotel room and views are beautiful, the level of service at this hotel is atrocious, especially considering the price point (more than the Mandarin Oriental, close to the Ritz).

Three consecutive days hotel housekeeping entered my room and made up the room despite explicit efforts by us to keep the Do Not Disturb sign on.

On multiple occasions the doorman stared at us through the lobby on cold nights as we got out of a cab, making no effort to help us or welcome us (he was standing *inside* in his down jacket).

Seems like the crowd here is primarily composed of young locals looking to party as there s been loud crowds walking through the halls.

We stayed at the Mandarin Oriental on this trip as well and the level of service was worlds different. It s clear that the staff here don t have the proper training.

Did not meet the high expectations I had and needless to say, will not be returning...

Great views does not necessarily correlate to great service...

After reading wonderful reviews about Banyan Tree, we were very excited to stay here and end our vacation on a strong note. Unfortunately, the service (rather, lack there of) ruined this simple expectation.

1. We like our privacy in our hotel rooms and also keep it tidy and clean ourselves - therefore we do not ask for housekeeping. That was no exception during our stay here. On 3 separate occasions we explicitly asked for them to not make up our room (we turned on Do Not Disturb each time we left the room). On 3 separate occasions, our requests were ignored. In my lens, it s the principle. Given the price tag of the hotel, If we ask for something, shouldn t the hotel honor that? At that point, why even provide an option for housekeeping?

2. At other hotels we have stayed (Mandarin Oriental, Conrad Beijing) the greeters were ready outside each time to help open cab doors, lobby doors with warm smiles despite the frigid weather. Here, every single time we got out of our cab rides or walked back from a trip out, the greeters (note that the hotel calls them security though I would not trust these people to help me if I were in harm s way given their nonchalant attitudes) stood right inside of the lobby doors staring at us - while wearing their down jackets. No greeting whatsoever. Just looked at us like we were unworthy of their time.

3. There is currently construction happening right outside a direct pathway leading to the hotel. It s the most efficient way of arriving to the hotel, either by walking or driving. On our first night back from exploring, we took the route that Baidu Maps recommended only to unfortunately be led through the muddy path that also happened to be closed off due to the construction. We only realized this halfway through the walk, sadly. Upon arrival to the hotel, we inquired with concierge about this and were met with a, Oh yeah. I take this walk every day from the subway and know there s construction going on. Sorry that is unfortunate. If this staff member knew of closure, why didn t he speak up and make sure that there was a memo out to visitors? Not everyone staying at Banyan is a local... instead we trekked wet mud not realizing that it s closed only to receive a message that the hotel clearly doesn t care from staff that is ill-trained.

With the high cost, I expected more from the service. We brought up these concerns to the hotel management who, by the way, was on vacation, so they directed us to lobby management. Their answers were, Sorry. Nothing we can do about this. This was a very disappointing experience and needless to say, we will never be staying here again nor will we recommend this hotel chain to any of our friends or family.

Great views from the hotel room, good vibes for couples, but ordinary service. There will be tourists taking pictures in the lobby, and many hotel practitioners put up a bitter face, this level of hotel, consider improving service standards.

So far the best hotel I've stayed in Shanghai and we've tried quite some be it for business or pleasure.Stayed in one of their Suites worth every extra dollar. Extra large tub with a fabulous view on Shanghai. The rooftop lounge bar terrace is among the best places to hang out in town, we were lucky enough to meet the hotels new GM helping us with our plans for the day. Room service was excellent. Spa we try today but knowing Banyan Tree this will sure be up to our expectations if not beyond.

Big room with great night view of The Bund. Good amenities as expected of 5 stars hotel. Free wifi, friendly and helpful staffs. A little bit high on the price side though. One slight inconvenience could be the location. There isn t much to walk around outside, and it s pretty quiet.

The environment is just fine, a circle of bamboo is planted around the hotel. The walls of the lobby on the first floor are made of wood branches, with bright canna and orchids on the table. The floor is covered with thick carpets and the colors are elegant and elegant. The waiter greets, and there are several waiters who are attentive to the service when they bring their luggage out. There is a pool outside the lobby, and the sun shines in. It feels good.
However, the hotel is very expensive for both accommodation and meals. The scenery of the North Bund in the presidential suite of more than 100,000 yuan is very good and luxurious. The food you eat is short board, which is expensive and unpalatable in a five-star hotel.
