Terrific experience! Yuhan and the team at Ballantyne Jewelers created me the exact ring I was looking for and with the stones I requested and within my budget. This is NOT Kay Jewelers or some other "mall" type experience. You are getting a family-owned and operated business by guys who have deep knowledge of gems and jewelry. This is the first good (incredible) experience I have had with a jewelry store!!!

I have shopped here multiple times and on every occasion the sales team (family) have been terrific ! they are friendly, helpful, and totally customer focused. They have a very wide selection of jewelry, fantastic quality, and unique designs. I have used these guys for watch repairs/maintenance, jewelry purchase & and sale (so that we could upgrade) and I have been totally satisfied every time. I will always return to these guys, and have recommended them to family and friends. Thank you.

Unlike other area jewelers where I was a number and felt pressured into buying a ring, Ballantyne Jewelers sat down with us, answered all our questions, and educated us on the specifics of choosing a ring. The ring is absolutely stunning and radiates off her finger. I catch her sparkling it in the sun all the time. The ring truly exceeded our lofty expectations. From the ring to the service it was first class. Do yourself a favor and visit the beautiful store. You will walk away a very happy customer.

This is always our destination for fine jewelry in Charlotte. The team here works within many pricepoints to provide quality pieces from an arrangement of diamond earrings to impressive enagagment rings and a welcoming selection of watches. Friendly staff and nice location but, for me, failed to make ring as discussed. Was seeking a reset using same setting type but from yellow gold to white gold with existing diamonds. They convinced to me to add an additional upper band which would enhance the main diamond. This was to be done by attaching three bands. Upon pick up I now have one band with no distinction between the elements of my wedding band and my engagement ring. What was supposed to be a wedding set now looks like a cocktail ring. The engagement diamond is lost in a football looking setting. Was told it was more feminine than my initial setting which was off-putting. I said the ring was fine because I don't trust someone who took a month to not do what was discussed in the first place but I will be going somewhere else to get the diamonds done to my specifications. Get any discussion of design requests written down in specifics. Also, original bands were not returned.
Update regarding owner response:
1. Clearly disappointed, hence the review
2. My review has nothing to do with expediting a process or a family funeral
3. There was to be no design change but one was made without my consent defying the process identified on your custom design information page
4. Still waiting for the return of my original bands.

Very beautiful store with a large display of inventory. The owners are real nice, friendly and layed back (no pressure like some jewelers i've been to). They cleaned my ring for free and I have even sold some of my unwanted gold there on 2 different occassions. My fiance had some broken items and a single earing that we expected maybe $50 for. To our suprise we got $250 and then another $300 respectively for the 2 visits. Honest people, classy establishment, will be back!

I feel the need to edit because I finally had the chance to buy from this establishment. Great merchandise and even better people that work there. They will work with your budget and find something. I've been to other places in South Charlotte and nobody is close in terms of selection and value.

Hands down the best jewelry store I have ever dealt with. My husband got my engagement ring from Ballantyne and was very nervous in the beginning as he didn t know much about jewelry. They walked him through the entire process of picking and purchasing the perfect engagement ring while educating him throughout the process. I made sure to go back and get my wedding band from Ballantyne even though at the time we got married, we had moved far out of state. Years later when I needed repair to my engagement ring due to accidental damage on my part, Simon took care of making my ring look better than brand new all while making the process completely painless from hundreds of miles away. I was a bit skeptical of the name at first. When I think Ballantyne, I think expensive. But they have stuff for all kinds of price ranges including mine which is basically broke.

The customer service was way better than any other places I ve been. They treated me with the same level of respect as some people who walked in wearing valuables worth more than I make in a year. Simon helped me multiple times in figuring out the best engagement ring for my girlfriend.

Once we figured out what she d like, they made it in house. I m not sure how quick it was because I planned this way in advance of the proposal, but I m pretty sure it was fast. This was our first experience with Ballantyne Jewelers (BJ). And having a long time jeweler "out of state" could have made this experience more uneasy and unlikely. Nothing was further from the truth!

I first met Yuhan, during a phone conversation I initiated, searching for a specific pair of earrings to match a pendant purchased at the other jeweler. While BJ didn't have the earrings, Yuhan did the necessary research, found the piece and called with the availability and price. While the local price was a bit higher than the other, "gaining our business" was their a long term goal.

The earrings were ordered and were a perfect match, at a competitive price making our first transaction a great value experience. Especially with a jeweler near our home town. Sami and his staff worked diligently to reset a stone in a new engagement ring setting for my son to have it ready for the newly engaged couple. I came here for an engagement ring for my now fiance. The team here is extremely service based and worked with me to get the exact style and diamond that I wanted to create the perfect ring. My husband had found Ballantyne and enquired about a specific Oris watch that I was looking for. They had a men s version in the store, but I could tell I would love the women s version. Same quality, band style, and the skeleton bezel is very cool. Apparently, not many women enjoy a skeleton watch, so I will explain. When a watchmaker wants to show their craftsmanship, a skeleton watch displays the inner workings in a way that is really beautiful. This watch was not only a birthday gift, but an investment, and Ballantyne made the whole process easy. We did happen to shop during a 20% off sale, so I went for a slightly fancier model. The order came in and we arranged a time to pick it up. Yuhan helped me pick the right size and adjusted the watch bracelet for me. Really helpful, very professional. I won t waste any time with another jewelry store.

I am extremely pleased with my recent purchase from Ballantyne Jewelers, from my very first visit to my most recent I always felt welcomed and never pressured. The family owned jewelry store staff are very knowledge, patient, and accommodating.

I was not happy with how the necklace turned out, but the owner refused to return it, and yelled at me about how he wasn t going to lose money on it. I was forced to keep it and was upset about the entire thing. I decided to drive over to Ballantyne Jewelers to see if they could possibly fix it for me. After they heard my story about my horrible experience with the other jeweler, they were so understanding and offered to redo the bezel setting for me for a very reasonable price. I came here to have my 14kYG rope chain fixed that I bough from another jeweler. They fixed it I can t even tell where the missing links were at. My experience with Ballantyne Jewelers was nothing short of perfect. To provide a little context, I am a 29 year old young professional who is self aware enough to know that I'm quite a picky guy. Before coming to Ballantyne Jewelers I shopped around at a few other stores in the CLT area. What I experienced was a quick process where I felt as if a bunch of nice things were put in my face and I was asked to pick one and move on. As you could assume, that experience was quite overwhelming for someone purchasing their first (hopefully last) engagement ring. I won't say the service was "sub par", but rather more muscle memory and habit where I felt as if I was just the next customer.

Upon arriving at Ballantyne Jewelers my experience was completely different. I was greeted and helped by Yuhan Tekin, and he immediately spent time to get to know me personally and understand my needs and wants as a consumer looking to make a huge life changing purchase.

At Ballantyne, I saw ONE diamond. Yuhan took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for, all while educating me on what I needed to know when making a purchase. Instead of seeing 30 diamonds in a 3 minute span with an untrained eye, i was presented the perfect option that I chose to purchase immediately.

After that, the ring was designed to my standards and the process was simply perfect. I was greeted with a smile each time I came into the store and just recently proposed! Within a week i HAD to take my fiance in to meet the team responsible for helping me get such an incredible ring for her.

I couldn't recommend Ballantyne Jewelers any stronger, this was one of the best consumer experiences of my lifetime.

The customer service here is by far, the best in Charlotte. I bought my wife's engagement ring, wedding band and anniversary gift here. Each time I have worked with a different member of the family and each time I have felt as if I were the only customer in the store. These guys are terribly attentive to your needs and care about your buying experience. Haha, Simon even volunteered to watch after our 2 year old and 6 month old in the store, so my wife and I could go have dinner. Bottom line, these are the nicest and most caring people you will work with in the jewelry business. I will be back to do business again and I will encourage everyone else to do the same.
