I usually don t write reviews, but before applying I saw many bad reviews and thought I ll see for myself. I moved in one week ago and the move in was swift and easy, I was treated with respect and all my questions were answered kindly and in a timely manner. I just had to put in a maintenance request because my A.C was leaking (common in old apartment buildings) and within hours someone was here to fix it. I ve been in and out of the hospital due to health complications and the office staff worked around my personal issues and always treated me with respect. Thank you to the staff for making this the easiest move possible! I m pleased to be a resident here

Ladies in the office are super nice. All my maintenance request always done. They work with you. I have no call off bed bugs. I've been here a year. I can say Sunset landing is a nice place.
Worst place ever glad im gone i wouldn't recommend know black person to this place they racist despite the fact that they say they prevent homelessness they put me and my kids out over a drug addict even when i paid my rent they are not to be trusted if you have children dont go there its drug users and addicts all throughout the complex....the maintenance team might be the best thing they have going for them
Updated review: The manager was very helpful to me and my roommate when we voiced our concerns. Everything was addressed and we feel so much better. We love our apartment and are very appreciative to the manager and the maintenance men
Great staff, great amenities, great pricing. It's the only complex in the area that I could find that has a pool, a gym, in unit washer and dryer, as well as a fair and accommodating pet policy (for those of us who have bigger dogs) I'd also like to give Lisa in the office a huge thank you for being so helpful during the moving process. I had an issue with my moving notice at my previous location and she went above and beyond to help me switch apartments to one that's availability was closer to my move out date. This complex is a joke. The management has gone to trash since I moved in(they re nice to get you to move in then don t care afterwards). They asked for high reviews when leaving but if you give them what they deserve, you ll see extra charges and have a hard time leaving. Exactly said from managements mouth when I moved in. That s why I ve waited to post this.
The buildings are falling apart, there s plenty of roaches, awful/inconsistent water pressure, no sound dampening, management doesn t care about their residents, you pay for their weekly bug service but only allow a spray every two weeks, stray cats that poo in front of your building daily. The list could go on...
If you re looking for a cheap complex with the most amenities or even somewhere more livable than a circle k bathroom, keep looking.
Management was always great and very accommodating up until we got out final bill in the mail and we had some major disconnect.
I don't normally leave reviews and I hope they don't read this and try to screw me over like a previous reviewer since I only have a month left on my 18 month lease.
Anyways, the rent isn't worth this place. I'm in a 2x1 and for my first 6 month lease we paid 760 roughly monthly and we had to renew our lease since we didn't have the money to more and now we pay 790 roughly monthly for 12 month lease with everything included. The place is full of COCKROACHES, I have a 2 year old and a 3 month old and I literally loose sleep at night worrying that they are crawling on them. I've tried everything except letting them bomb the apartment(my mom and brother work in pest control and I know unless the whole apartment complex is done at the same time they will just come back) I mean I've spent money out of pocket to get gel that my mother says works wonders and it did nothing, I got those sono wave things you plug into the wall and they literally crawl right over them even though they had amazing reviews on Amazon and I've even had them come and spray and the they use Burns because they are cheap(for a reason, they f'in suck) and the guy literally walked around my apartments for 3 minutes and only sprayed the baseboards that were showing even after I ordered to move furniture and he said no that I didn't need to. It didn't even phase them, and I've had it sprayed a couple times.
When we moved in it was the middle of September and our a/c was leaking horribly and my daughter was crawling at that time and I had to block off that part of the hallway or hold her all day just to keep her away from it. The maintenance came out at least 15 times changing the filter(twice), emptying the drip pan(twice) and even replaced it, and getting on the roof, and dethawing the thing, it wasn't until I through a temper tantrum in the middle of the office with possible future tenants in the office that they called an actual a/c company to come evaluate and they said the entire a/c unit needed to be replaced. Go figure!!!! And now it's been barely over 16 months since it's been replaced and already it's starting to leak again, I figure they probably got the cheapest AC unit they could.
Oh and the water pressure is horrible, at least in my unit. The kitchen comes out so hard you can barely wash your hands or do dishes without spraying yourself with water, and yet the shower(which by the way when we moved in the caulking was full of black mold which I didn't notice until I starting giving my daughter baths in the tub instead of the sink because the way the shower is the caulking is under a lip in the plastic) has barely any water pressure, we literally had to buy a new shower head just to get the decent water pressure out because the shower head was blocking all the water and it was spraying out of the spout because it couldn't get out at the shower head.
Edited to add more: we have since moved out and gotten our final bill. I call because they are trying to charge a ridiculous $175 for carpet cleaning and pet treatment..... We never had a pet, we babysat a dog for a weekend in February of 2016 and the management claims that when they walked in for the walk through that they could immediately smell a pet..... Again... Never had a pet and when we did pet sit the dog stayed out on the patio the entire time, came in the house long enough to go in and out the front door. Then they say they used a black light to check for urine.... I potty trained my daughter in that apartment, she may have had accidents that doesn't mean we had an animal. I'm fine paying for carpet cleaning since we didn't do it ourselves but the extra charge for pet treatment is crazy. What gets me the most is they supposedly use a blacklight to make sure the carpets are clean but apparently just over looked all the coackroaches they "didn't know where there" haha haha this place is a freakin' joke.
Fantastic support from their office staff, particularly Maria. She was continually patient with us during this difficult move with the Coronavirus and lockdowns in place. Already met a couple of friendly neighbors and their wonderful pups and looking forward to our time here.
The staff is always attentive and polite. The buildings have some minor cosmetic issues, and the pool tends to need more attention, but the complex is generally clean and quiet.
Moving in was very easily the artist was very very helpful did everything online and over-the-phone I'm very happy with my move in very satisfied very nice quiet place very happy with the area thank you for everything sunset landing
Just renewing this review, been at this place for 7 years now, been with the same Company for 12 years and the Office and Maintenance are FANTASTIC! The ladies in the office are very nice. Ernesto and his crew always do a great job fixing things and are quick to respond. We had Roaches in the beginning and it was a problem however we have not seen any in quite some time. They did great calling out someone to take care of the pest problem but it has not been for some time now, they acted quickly and took care of it. Great place to live and it's quiet here <3
We have lived here for 5 years and it's very quiet here. Ernesto and Art always get things fixed if something needs to be done and they get it done right the first time with smiles and great personalities! Ladies in the office are also very nice and always smiling.
I wouldn't recommend this place to NOBODY !! when I first moved here they didn't have my apartment ready. They waited 2 days before I moved to bomb the apartment it was roaches EVERYWHERE. Then when I spoke with the leasing office/ management about the concerns I have with the roaches they pretty much told me I have to deal with it and took $50.00 of my first months rent. My fridge keeps leaking water all over my kitchen floor, the dishwasher stinks so bad they keep giving us some cleaner that never works. I will never stay in them apartments when my lease is up it was the WORST experience ever !!!
Had a horrible experience living at sunset landing. Talk about worse nightmare. My husband and I moved from Texas, the place looks decent in pictures. We came to sign the lease and asked to do a walk through prior and we're told no (first red flag should have known) we lived there for 5 months on a 6 month lease, during those 5 months we had to deal with multiple noise disturbances, had to make police reports on every one (what a waste of our resources) Don't even get me started on roaches the place is infested despite my cleanliness. Month 5 our ac unit went out and they did fix that however we had a bad water leak in the bathroom directly above the toilet (we had a bottom unit) water was pouring out not only there but the ceiling above the bathtub was caving. I made a maintenence request not only by calling but online and someone did come out they poked at the ceiling with a screw driver then that was it they never came back. I followed up....nothing, I thought well maybe they fixed it from above and they didn't need our apartment for anything, I went to our upstairs neighbors to ask of they had any work done on it and they hadn't. Six days past and nothing. So we moved out a month early. We stopped by two weeks after we moved out and they already had someone living there. They are coming after me for 1,825 mind you rent was like 550$ they are making me pay for breaking lease and I'm assuming the last month rent which is illegal to collect double rent. This place is a dump and the office doesn't do their job. I have been trying to contact a manager for months now and nothing she conveniently is always on "meetings" or doing this or that. Still waiting for a call. Now I have 1,825 being sent to collections. How lovely. Please stay far away from this place especially if you have kids nothing but low life druggie a live here and a select few good people but mostly drugs and suspicious activity going on.
I lived in these apartments back in 2017 and If i could give it no stars I would. My unit had a leak from the roof in the living room closet which I believe was from upstairs water heater. It was never fixed which caused MOLD to grow all along the roof and caused a horrible smell throughout the unit. After several complaints I was always told the maintenance guy was on vacation and would fix it when he got back in a few days but days turned into weeks and it never got fixed so I decided it was in the best interest not only for mine but my family s (Two young children and wife) health to leave. Unfortunately they are still reporting to the credit bureaus as unpaid and I would really appreciate for them to stop. I have all the proof (pictures of the mold, messages asking for it to be fixed.) and I am willing to go to court on the issue but would rather settle it by having Sunset landing stop reporting negatively.
Awful! Don't be fooled by the random 5 star reviews, they are fake. The complex is full of roaches, trash, and stray cats. It literally looked like they hadn't updated it since the 70's. The dark brown carpet.. had huge stains when I moved in. After the 1 year finally ended and I could leave, I did. 5+ year old carpet with huge stains.. should be replaced. The managment will scam you out of your deposit, so don't expect it back. DO NOT MOVE HERE IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE
We stayed with the apartment community for more than a year. The staff were really nice & took care of our issues once we let them know. They kept the community cleaned, & we got lucky, our neighbors were nice. Recommend this complex.
Front office people focus on minor issues like wanting to charge me for leaving a tiny food and water dish by my front door for a stray cat that has really taken to my boyfriend and I. (Which has gone unnoticed for months, just recently brought to attention when maintenance changed our air filters.) She never enters the apartment, she just visits our front door and roams around the complex from time to time. They think that makes the apartments look trashy even though no one can see our front door. What people do see is the trash that is all over the ground by the dumpsters every single week because this place only has 2 dumpsters that all the residents share, which is clearly not enough. That is the reason there are so many stray cats, because this place can't invest in just 1 more dumpster to resolve the issue of there being an easily accessible food source. It is not a question of space. There is a clear space to put another, they just leave it empty for whatever reason.
Also, neighbors are noisy, inconsiderate, and often get the cops called on them. There was also a storm almost a year ago that caused a lot of damage within the complex, including taking down a huge tree that was in the middle of the road for over a week, maybe 2, before it was dealt with and removed, which was a hazard. However, a couple dishes by my front door require immediate action. Ha. I'd suggest avoiding this place.
Don t believe these good reviews. This place is roach infested! So infested it s un livable. Do they care? Heck no! I m gonna call 3 on your side because may be they will care when the news is involved. Go check out the picture I posted with a sticky trap. It s disgusting.
False Advertising.. I was showed a model and to be honest this was the reason I felt like me and my kids can make it in these apartments. After I was given my keys at move in No one showed me where my apartment was I wasn t walked to my apartment and then once I went back to the office to let them know I wasn t clear on where or what direction to go to find my apartment.. one of the workers in the office walked with me and showed me where we would be living but once we got to my place she just pointed up and didn t do a walk through or anything. They are so very small inside I was told they all are one size but the model looks way bigger than mine did.. I just really wished they showed me the apartment I was moving into before I got my Cashiers Check to give to them in order for me to get my keys because otherwise we wouldn t have waste each others time. Now I have to wait to receive my money back.. smh not good
These apartments are the worst. The building is literately on its lasts strands of life. Honestly, whoever is still living here and their apartment happens to crash down they'll get paid some serious cash. I understand no matter where you go depending who you live with, you might have roaches, but it is insane here. If it's not roaches it's scorpions! Not a safe place if you have kids. Oh and the office takes cashier checks or "personal checks" but not money orders? And like I want to spend 10$ more on top of my rent and other bills etc. Of course the location isn't the best, but not being able to relax on your own bed because of scorpions? Unacceptable. The only nice and genuine person is the lady who sits in her own office.
Its quite here for a lg complex. Maintenance is very nice and respectful, cleans up after their jobs. Great guys does a great job. Management is very professional and personal.
Just love it here! They always take care of their residents here. They help you right away!. You dont have to wait for something to be fixed. I've had to have a thing or two fixed and they came right away. I didnt have to wait. Thee office ladies are great! Maintenance guys are great to.. this place is great (:
Other than minor cosmetic issues, that the staff addressed promptly, so far this place is good. Well maintained, friendly staff. Moving in was very easy.
