Buy into the hype!

Buy into the hype!
Ok, so a breakfast restaurant with the name Bacon & Butter better be good, right? And with such a high rating and rave reviews the bar is set pretty high. Well, like I said before... Buy into the hype. With a high bar and service and food being such a slam dunk, you know this place is top notch.
Whenever I'm visiting from out of town, I like to find the local hot spots and this was one I stumbled upon. Went in at 8am on a weekday solo and was seated right away. Fabulous, friendly and attentive service! Ordered a mimosa and when it came it was in a tiny little cup. And I thought oh no, this place is gonna be a rip off. But I suppose looks can be deceiving because it was just right and did the trick I saw the pics posted and had to go with the pancakes . Oh. My. God. Best pancakes I've ever had before in my entire life. Filling and thick and fluffy and melts right in your mouth. My scrambled eggs were perfectly done and bacon was mouth watering delicious Placed a to go order for the rest of the family. Breakfast Burrito Peaches & Cream French Toast and a gigantic Cinnamon Roll. The food was packaged and traveled well. Everything was devoured and nothing but rave reviews all around. So in conclusion, I don't believe this place can serve a bad meal. Get here asap! And enjoy! P.S. Ample free parking and unisex bathroom oh and the decor and atmosphere are clean and adorable. You can tell TLC was put into it. I love the whole serving drinks in mason jar thing. I'd give more than if I could.

I'll start off by saying, get here as early as possible on the weekend. The wait can easily be over a hour and I was lucky when I came as it was cold and no one wanted to eat outside, so we dined on the patio. I came for the breakfast burrito. Covered with grilled cheese. So much anticipation... And while is presentation is great, and its one of their big sellers, it was about 90% potato filled and I barely got a taste of the chorizo inside. The guacamole dipping sauce was tasty tho. Besides that, everything was great. The biscuits and gravy are on point and my friend liked the Chile verde hash. The Guavosa mimosa is awesome as well, and can be gotten by glass or carafe.

We waited 30 minutes and it was worth it. If you love bacon this is a fabulous way to explore options. My partner enjoyed the Kitchen Sink. Biscuit was huge and eggs were delicious with the fried sage garnish. Amaz! I had the chicken & waffle and found it to be delicious. Not crispy fried chicken like I ve had before but it was deliciously prepared. We both had way more food than we could eat. I do think they are a bit pricey, $3.50 for a cup of hot tea. We were disappointed they didn t have any herbal tea options. They were out of chamomile and no other herbal teas were stocked. Service was great and food came out fast.

I just had to add a comment for this place. I absolutely love this restaurant! I have been here for brunch a couple of times before Coronavirus hit us and even though there is a long wait to get a seat, it is so worth it. Even now, during quarantine, I have ordered from here several times since they have opened up for pickup orders. must try

I love how dedicated and passionate they are about the food! True healthy local eats, great prices and friendly staff. I always feel good when I walk out of here. A definite favorite whenever in town.

My coworker and I love to try a new place around town at least every month. We went here and it is great! Their food is delicious and their staff is very friendly! I loved the idea of giving the check in an actual book and be able to see what other customers have hidden within the pages. It was a nice touch! Keep up the good work! I hope to be back soon!

They really took grate care of me. Was lunch time was seated within 1 minute order in 3 minutes was done eating in 45 minutes & on time back at work. Explant serves yammie food. Restaurant was full that didn't stop them from making me fill like a Quinn.

I feel like my experience is not the norm, based on how many people I know loved this place, however for me, it just kind of fell flat.

I was here previously years ago, when they were at their old location, and I don't remember what I got, but remembered not liking it.

This time around, hoping I just chose something wrong for my palette, I decided to try again, and I was again, disappointed. I didn't dislike my food like I previously did, I just wasn't happy with it.

I got the Grilled Cheese Benedict, and my eggs were way over cooked. One of them sorta oozed, not really, the other one did not at all, it was very close to basically being a hard boiled egg. The bacon was fine, the grilled cheese was fine, and I imagine, had my eggs been cooked well, it would have been a good dish (not great, I didn't see anything that would be blown me away good on the plate) but sadly no.

My husband enjoyed his dish, he though it was tasty, and our friend did not, feeling the bacon was sorta okay, and not liking the texture of his pancake (he got the bacon pancakes.)

Overall, our experience was just okay, and with the wait time of 45 minutes, I would rather go elsewhere.

This is a popular spot and I understand why. It has a great menu with what I would consider new concepts. However, the food is just plain. As in, no great flavors and clearly not seasoned well. This restaurant reminded me of an upscale cafeteria. Would I go again? Yes, but only if my company was paying.

I normally only go to bacon and butter as a treat. All the food is great quality and their pastry chef is amazing! But the wait is nuts and I'm not always down to wait an hour or more.

Tonight however I came for their beer week event and it was very nice. A relaxed bacon and butter experience I got their early at 430 and there was no wait, we could seat ourselves and you ordered at the counter. I hope they put on more specialty events like this cause I had a great time.

Great food. Sodas only served in a can for $1.75 a piece (no refills). Staff is friendly. Building is dated and run down (dirty feel - especially looking at the floor). No military or law enforcement discount. Unisex restroom with unusual configuration - you get to look straight into the side of a urinal while sitting on the toilet (there is a lock on the main door to the restroom - up to two people can use it at a time...one being a male obviously).

Unique menu and long wait to get in. I was disappointed in the taste of the sausage, but they removed it from the bill. I just wanted diner style breakfast and this was a little too upscale.

The eggs Benedict on the grilled cheese was absolutely fantastic. Cooked perfect, nice crust of cheese and the bacon was perfect. My wife tried the breakfast burrito and wasn't as impressed. A bit more dry, even with the hot sauce. But that grilled cheese Benedict.... Damn that was good!!

If you're looking for comfort food, this is a good choice. This is one place where having a party of 8 is preferred because you can call ahead...otherwise, it's first come first served, and the is always a ridiculous wait. If you have the time, there is a great coffee shop around the corner while you wait. I will revise to 5 stars on the day that B&B starts taking some reservations.

Food was mediocre. Very Pricey. Paid 35.00 including tip for biscuits and gravy with bacon and eggs and 4 flapjacks with diced apples and pineapple. The service was good and kept the coffee filled. Not for us but the place is always busy so others must like it.We will not be back.

I had the fried green tomatoes eggs Benedict, and I think it will take me years before I can bring myself to try something different. It was tremendous. Really nice counterpoints in the dish. The kombucha was also really special. This place is 5 star all day. Yes you have to wait, but there are benches and it's a cute scene, so just get into it and have a good conversation. This is another restaurant where any non 5 star ratings reveal someone in need of therapy for their own issues. Go and enjoy your company and the fresh flavors.

You ll want to get here as soon as the door opens, it s pretty busy here and you ll see why. Their breakfast is amazing and they have their own twist on American breakfast. Definitely a great place to go with family and friends!

Go wake up early on the weekends and get to Bacon & Butter before 8AM to avoid long lines; trust me it's worthy! We ordered flapjacks + chicken & waffles. Oh boy it's delicious! It didn't take forever for us to get our food. The place is so aesthetic they even bring the bill with old, real books. It's simply my best breakfast place in Sacramento!

Was a great environment and food was amazing. My wife didn't like her first dish but the owner quickly came to replace with something else and made our experience that much better. Would recommend this place to everybody and there momma.

I was looking forward to eating here given the name.
To start, the service was great. The servers were very nice and attentive.
The food was good but not the level I expected given price and presentation.
The smashed potatoes that came with the breakfast dishes were kind of dry and did not have much flavor.
I had "The kitchen sink". The bacon was very good. But, the other parts of the dish felt like it did not quite work together.
It was very busy here. So, others apparently have a differing opinion. I think they are close if the dishes had more attention to detail I think they could be what they present themselves to be

Amazing food! Farm to fork! Tantalizing tomatoes so fresh and delicious. My sunnyside egg cooked to perfection on bread so soft spread with flavorful fresh avocado. Fruit not your standard bad strawberries and bananas. No, No No...my fruit was crisp, sweet watermelon, ripe plums, succulent strawberry, and firm grapes! And my hot tea served with real cream, just the way I like it. Food served by a friendly and attentive wait staff. For such a bustling eatery, out food was quickly on our table, fresh and hot from the grill. Get here early or you will be standing in line out the door. Don't hesitate to eat at the counter. Very fun indeed!

I ordered the grilled cheese benedict. It tastes delicious, love the sauce. But the eggs were overcooked which always makes me very sad. And I don't quite see what all the hype is about, would have loved if it came with avocado Next time I'm trying the chicken and waffles!

This place was great the food was so delicious and full of flavor. If you're in Sacramento you have to try this place for breakfast their pear and pecan french toast is off the chart so are there pancakes.

Great food and service! Only downside is the wait. Not sure if it had to do with it being New Year's week, but had a 30-minute wait on a Thursday morning with no place to wait inside (45-50 degrees outside). The food was worth it but YMMV. Large portions, so you won't walk away hungry. Definitely recommend and I'll return to try other menu selections (had the bananas foster flapjacks this time). Parking lot is crowded, but plenty of street parking.

Very good! My wife and I came for our anniversary breakfast, and loved it. The oatmeal was the perfect texture and consistency, and OMG the bacon! It was flavorful and not overly salty like you get at other places. The pancakes and sausage my wife ordered were delicious as well, and I'm pretty sure the pancakes were made from scratch. The sausage patties were seasoned to perfection. It was BUSY, even on a Wednesday, but we lucked out on the wait because we sat at the bar. Service was quick and friendly; the service staff seemed to enjoy working there, and the atmosphere was welcoming and cheerful. The check comes in a book, which was quaint, and people leave notes and doodles in them. We will definitely return to Bacon & Butter.
