We stayed here as the perfect, safe getaway during covid after the stay at home orders were lifted. The grounds are beautiful and it is advertised as a romantic getaway and it was just that. The check in lady wasn't the most personable, but More

We love this resort! The views and property are just amazing! The staff were all super friendly, helpful and professional. We ate both dinner and brunch at the Bistro and thought the food was top notch! Special shout out to the waitress Angelina, who provided awesome service for both meals. Definitely want to come back soon!

The grounds of this Ritz Carlton were beautiful!

However, the room and the parts of the property needed TLC. There were cracks in the tile flooring, the in room safe did not work, and the phone did not work. I called the property to fix the phone and safe which were corrected, but one would expect better from a Ritz Carlton property.

I was also could not swim in the main pool during my stay due to a private event and still was charged the ridiculous resort fee. I will not be returning.

my wife and me arrived on monday 25th february evening after a long journey and were very much looking forward to get some relaxation and comfort. after a very professional and friendly reception by alexander we moved to our room. when entering we noticed that the temperature in the room was 84 (!) degrees. we wanted to open the door to the patio to cool the room and immediately shut the door again: in just two meters distance the fans of some kitchen ran on full capacity blowing an awful kitchen smell to our patio accompanied by a noise as if one stood on the runway of an airport. everything very un-ritz!! very disappointing and not the money worth we paid. our yearlong positive perception of the ritz carlton experience received a severe negative blow. very bad!

Love this hotel. Self-contained resort that is also a great launchpad for visiting Santa Barbara or local wineries. Hiking right on the grounds, gorgeous rooms with giant bathtubs and dog friendly. Excellent service. Multiple restaurants on site. Great sunset views.

Wonderful place. Everything is beautiful, wonderful views, amazing spa. The only complaint is that the rooms aren't quite as clean as I would have expected. My bed had stained sheets, and there was a stuffed animal and pacifier left over from a previous guest. They fixed it, but it would have been nice to have clean sheets on arrival!

Incredible property with beautiful ocean views. We've stayed here several times. This time, we went during the week when it was slow. The only restaurant that was open was Bistro (which we never tried before) and it may have been one of the best resort restaurants I've ever been to. Incredible food and a price that wasn't too bad considering where it was. We had a full ocean view suite. Nice room, beautiful view. Staff was very nice. Honestly, the only thing we were a little disappointed about was the pool bar was closed because it was so slow. Bummer because they have really delicious frozen drinks. If you're looking for a beautiful, quiet place to get away, you really can't go wrong with this property. If you go during the busy season, expect to pay for it.

World-class service, impeccable rooms, amazing views. This resort has it all. If you have the means, this is a must stay in Santa Barbara. Remote enough for an intimate experience on the private beaches and 70 acre property, but also just a short drive to downtown Santa Barbara.

I had the opportunity to stay at this property recently and was highly impressed. The customer service I received was above and beyond. From the moment I pulled in I was treated like I was a VIP. Everyone referred to me by name and made sure that all my needs were met.

The property is beautiful (and huge). You have direct access to the beach. The pool area was Immaculate and had an area for everyone to be comfortable. The gym was one of the best hotel gyms I have ever seen. Every type of equipment you could imagine.

Unfortunately I was only there for a day so I could not experience everything they offer but will to be back to explore more

Stunning rooms! There's no bad room at this resort. Great drinks, easy beach access, beautiful views everywhere, and multiple popular pools. Remember: you get what you pay for, so be ready to drop some dinero if you come here.

Beautiful place! The architecture it s classic Santa Barbara style, sooo pretty, so white, so lush! Very clean, stylish rooms, very spacious, courteous and helpful staff, comfy beds, awesome views!

Personnel did a great job overall. A misstep at check in but it was due to lack of experience. I preferred the Bacara decor vs the more modern lobby but that s a matter of individual taste. Not a 5 yet but moving in that direction.

This place is beautiful. What else is their to say?! A great pool. Beautiful sounds of the ocean and omg the food! Came to get away for the weekend and am having an absolute blast. Last nights sunset was simply amazing.

Beautiful location with 5-star service from the moment we arrived, until the valet brought us our car on departure. Room was smartly appointed, and well maintained, and the views were spectacular.

We were very disappointed with our recent stay. This was our second time at Bacara, and was definitely not on par with our first experience. Given the rate, the accommodations were less than reasonable, the housekeeping was non-existent, and overall the level of customer service was far below what we expected. There are a lot of other great options in the Santa Barbara area for the price paid.

Well groomed gardens. Good rooms (based on partial sea view room) for aprrox $600 a night in high season. Lots of dark wood, a little dated.
Room service woeful. AND who on earth puts coriander (cilantro) on a pizza?!!
Odd mix of luxury and tat. Paper cups provided for tea/coffee maker. Champagne and wine in mini bar but no glasses. Hmmmm... Maybe 3stars is being kind.

I booked this room through my Chase rewards card and wasn't entirely sure what I booked since I've never stayed at a Ritz before... Well let me tell you, coming from someone who doesn't care for fancy things, I loved this place. It was meticulously clean and the grounds were simply beautiful. Cooper, one of the bell hops, was the coolest guy I had met in the longest time, was genuinely helpful and funny and made the introduction to the hotel a great one. He gave us a tour of the hotel as we checked in and was both informing and funny. My girlfriend and I now have a running joke at any hotel we visit of "where's Coop?!"

Since you'll never need to leave the grounds, I can say the only negative was I never got to actually see Santa Barbara but to be fair, while you're there, you don't need anything else. The complimentary red wine and amazing views was one heck of a treat for my lady and I. Once you stay here, no other hotel will even come close.

The setting is very beautiful and relaxing. Coming here for a few days to get away from the stress of Los Angeles, you hear nature, the ocean and breathe the air which smells more pure than in the city.

The Bistro bar has an awesome chicken sandwich and was able to accommodate pancakes even at 2pm when it s on the menu only for breakfast.

Service is near perfect, spa is awesome and facilities are clean, neat and upscale.

Perfect place for a few days, highly recommend!

Stayed here for a wedding. The room was lovely and I give the staff 5 stars for their attention! The wedding venues were spectacular. Although I had a great experience I knocked it down a star for two reasons, first we found kids toys under our bed. Secondly room service dishes sat outside the room until the following night.

The resort was a little old, the faucet was broken and the toilet was a little loose, but the whole resort was a good getaway. Sucks that there wasn't any self parking, it was $36 a day, tack on $40 resort fee for the full price.

So the resort is beautiful. That for the one star! Buy by far the worst hotel bed I have ever slept in. The food was definitely off mostly due to covid19 I hope. Fortunately we got a health care- first responders rate. But I would never stay here again! Definitely didn't live up to the standards of a Ritz-Carlton.

Amazing resort. Amazing pools, views, and rooms. The signature suite I stayed in I still can't get over. The only problem was the In room dining. Yes the food was great, but the price was EXTREMELY expensive. Every meal was about 60-65$! I'm not kidding! But the food tasted great overall. This is definitely my third favorite vacation before to Maui, and the Big Island. Both in Hawaii

Overall not worth the high price. Bring sandals to throw away after your visit - the beach is littered with tar deposits. Also skip the Eco-hike as the guides deride the use of DDT in the 80s and 90s on farms (DDT was outlawed in 1972 and was used as a pesticide for mosquitoes - not on farms)

Absolutely gorgeous property! The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful. We spent most of our time at the spa pool which was quiet and relaxing. Food was delicious at all the restaurants. Highly recommend staying at this property.

We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at the Bistro Restaurant at the Bacara. The food was delicious, the wine pairing was perfect, and the service was excellent. Thanksgiving dinner there has become a tradition for us.

Our whole experience with the staff here at the Ritz-Carlton, Bacara has been nothing but amazing! They helped us plan our wedding in less than two weeks for 13 of our closest family members. They helped us get rooms for everyone, a ceremony location, meals before and after the wedding, an amazing reception dinner, and pool time for everyone. It was difficult as this was our 4th attempt at planning a wedding during COVID, but they made it effortless, beautiful, and memorable! Thank you so much Angela, Dylan, and Steven! You made our wedding weekend perfect and we will definitely be back!

Have stayed here twice while visiting our son at college. It's a great property. The setting is stunning, as the resort is perched on the ocean where you can see a spectacular sun set. It is not in downtown SB, as some have noted. That's fine by me! While SB is an awesome city, my husband and I personally enjoy being out of the busy part of the area, especially at night. The hotel is wonderful to walk around first thing in the morning while grabbing coffee from the lobby, or at night when the sun has set and the stars are out.

Love the food at the steak house, (get the funky little baked alaska for dessert!) and at the more casual spot on property. Enjoying breakfast while sitting outside and hearing the crashing waves is awesome! Also, as a non-drinker, the sophisticated and unique non-alcoholic "mocktail" choices on the menus are much appreciated, especially while in wine country!

Staff did a great job at check in and out, also providing recommendations for restaurants or area activities. Had a super massage at the spa, and worked out at the gym on property. A jitney cart is a quick phone call to bring up your luggage when leaving. The beds were heavenly, and housekeeping was quick and thorough. After staying here, it would be difficult to go back to the places we had previously stayed downtown.
