We have been here for about a day and it feels like an extremely overpriced Marriott, at best. We have a suite which is nice, but a little rough and banged up. Was excited about the spa as we heard it was 5-star but, unfortunately, the locker room and amenities were dirty and not to par with other high end spas. Positive note, I had an 80 minute treatment today as well as a 30 minute foot treatment and had a very talented therapist.
We rented a cabana so we could relax and also have a little bit of isolation, unfortunately, it is more of a kid pool and the resort doesn't have a adult only pool. The music selection is nothing tranquil but more Top 20 promoting a pool party. Under different circumstances maybe I would like this but for a 5-Star "Spa" hotel you would think they would have some place to relax. Mind you, the cabanas are $250 which do not include anything.
Food.... I am praying that tonights dinner will exceed my expectations but so far we haven't received any food or drinks which were exceptional. We have tried each location, room service and still have not received a decent item.
Coming from the hospitality industry I understand bad days, but so far we have struck out at every turn. Service has been decent but the quality of the hotel, the vibe and the upkeep I would give 2-Stars at best.
If we were at a mid grade hotel I would not rant but at $1200 per night, $350 spa treatments and $120 bar snacks I except way more!! I wish I could have checked out and gone to the 4-Seasons. Get it together Bacara!
