Went in for our honeymoon dinner. Exceeded all expectation. Nestor was amazing fast server with a very good sense of humor. I would strongly recommend to anyone looking for top notch service. Its not cheap but once you try your plate and see the presentation money means nothing. You cant put a price on that kind of quality. 5 stars does not do them justice.
Waikiki's beaches are lively, and when you go to your seat during the booked time when the sun remains, you can see the diamond head and gradually turn amber. Parents and children with children are running to see if they are going to take a dip, but look at the terrace of the restaurant, which is gradually becoming bustling, and raise everything that will soon make them hungry. Hawaii is busy with people who have just come and people who come back, but since we are returning to Japan early tomorrow morning, we will assemble the course while talking about whether you have forgotten souvenirs or have many things left to do. Get advice and finish the order. I was satisfied except for dessert. Isn't dessert a trend now? You're on one side of the plate and forgot to plan something in the middle? Or it was said that it was dropped along the way, and I was asked to wait for it, and I was ridiculed (this is all). As a result, the most memorable thing was that I went there at the same time as the start of business and sat down at my favorite seat and enjoyed the last supper until the sunset was set.
Service was very friendly & attentive. 5*. Sunset view can't be beat. My scallops & ahi tuna was excellent. The mixed greens salad was a large portion & very tasty. $$$$
FANTASTIC place!! The food and staff were excellent. The setting along the beach is just beautiful. A great place to have a great meal !!!
Service and food were superb!!!!! The classic mai tais are some of the best.
For $100 per person start point we found the service to be subpar and the food to be mediocre at best.
Service first. We were seated and then ignored. It was 12 minutes before the server came over to welcome us and ask for our drink order. BTW we seated at 545p at a restaurant that opened at 530p. The waiter had no desire to know us as his client nor discuss our expectations with us about dinner. No recommendations or suggestions. During the dinner I decided to have a different wine with my meal. Had to wait another 15 minutes to finally get his attention to order it. I think you might be getting the picture. Would have had more wine and a dessert and probably spent another $100 if the waiter would have been even slightly more attentive.
Let's talk food. The salad was essentially a giant bowl of lettuce with minor amounts of other vegetables sparsely thrown on top. I will say that the appetizer of a sashimi plate was excellent. In fact it was the high point of the meal. Sad when the appetizer is the high point. I had Gnocchi my wife had filet and lobster. The Gnocchi was a bit doughy with minimal flavor. My wife's steak was properly cooked medium rare however it was highly under salted. She wanted salt but again we had a significant wait looking for our server (10 min). Finally interrupted a runner to get salt. The lobster was properly cooked but once again the flavor was adequate at best. All in all I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. We were prepared to spend $150 to $200 per person so we are not cheap. Poor service, no where near the flavor quality one would expect at this price point. Go somewhere else you wouldn't be sorry.
I work as a Corporate Travel Director. I accompanied a group of 44 visitors with private seating, the table setting was beautifully decorated with flowers and candles out on the patio. a pre selected menu, pre selected wines and cocktails on consumption. Service was fabulous and quick the food was outstanding. My company makes our reservations months in advance I would recommend if you really want a great dining experience make your reservations ahead of time and request where you would like to be seated, their best waiter or waitress and if you are celebrating a special occasion of any kind. Valet parking, resort casual, and the famous Mai Tai Bar during Sunset. You ll have a fabulous evening!
Reasonable prices for fine dining and amazing dishes. I'm coming back!
Great place. Our waiter, Scott, was very attentive. We had a beach front table. It was a wonderful experience.
This restaurant is adequate. This is a regrettable three star review. It should be spectacular but the lack of attention to detail and customer focus was truly disappointing. While the food was excellent and the wait staff was incredibly attentive, the location of our table for our anniversary dinner was beyond poor. Even after making a reservation well in advance and specifically noting it was our anniversary, we were relegated to truly the worst table I have ever seen in a high end restaurant. I would not put anyone where our table was located much less someone celebrating a very important occasion. The views were completely obstructed (even though outside) and the area was used for general storage and as a beach thoroughfare. Random people and waiters just walked through by our table dragging wet towels and beach paraphernalia. Moreover, the restaurant was not full and we had a special reservation. See photos. I recommend the restaurant train its front end staff to be more attentive and eliminate the table located behind the planters, tent and storage area. I was truly disappointed.
Our Uber driver and the hotel server raved about the snow crab omelette here at Azure inside royal hawaiian hotel. There was also a buffet station which we didn't partake. Found the snow crab to be rather blend, not something I would go out if my way to get. Amazing view as you are right next to Waikiki beach. 5 stars for location and about 3 for the food.
The staff are so friendly and helpful. Food is high quality. Compliments to a creative Chef!
The atmosphere was kind to the children and it was fun to the end. However, the amount may be large for Japanese. At first I ordered so many that I was worried if I was a little short, and I thought it would be better to add more later.
All were not mild flavors but mild gentle flavors.
Really great meal at a really great spot. Fresh fish was delicious, service was great. Seating on the beachfront terrace was picturesque. A lovely evening all up.
We had an awesome beach front table. The food was excellent. They offer a nice tasting menu for a reasonable price, were open to making changes. I ordered a-la-carte, amazing chowder, great fish with nice sides. The staff were very good, John gave us an excellent night of service. It is not a cheap place, but for a special event, it was an amazing evening out.
Delicious food! Perfect for seafood lovers and other meats! Also had vegetarian options. Rather pricey but should be expected given the location right on the beach, the delicious cocktails and incredible food. Definitely a foodie place, don t expect large portions!
Some of the food is good and some isn't. The restaurant is beautiful and it is in the Royal Hawaiian which makes it even better. We said that the fish wasn't so good and the waiter said that the chef says that the fish is either really good or really bad, which is completely unacceptable for the restaurant. The service was also really slow even for a scoop of Lychee Sorbet.
Really great food with a price to match. Remember where you are. This is worth every penny. Amazing food, amazing ambience. You won't regret this one for one second.
Private dinner at this restaurant. Nice location for excellent. Tough to give accurate review as hotel is on strike. We were served by other staff..eg the sommelier was out waiter
Well presented dishes show a great fusion of French and Asian styles with locally sourced ingredients in focus. On the beach as well.
The menu and the setting are excellent but the style of service does not make for a dining experience commensurate with the hotel's reputation, architecture, and an intriguing menu. Clearly our waitress who worked there for several years was overworked and under supported. Orders were brought to 3 of the 4 in our party several times accompanied by "I'll get it next." We waited more than 15 minutes for entry plates to be cleared. The final event was serving port wine that was extremely cold and returned. We could see the bartender heat a glass and then blow in it! The man is a public health hazard. When the port was returned to the table it had to be rejected. A lousy ending to a so-so dining experience. Obviously the management of this restaurant is getting away from substandard service because they can. We will never return.
No reservation, 15 open tables, would not seat us. My money is better off in my pocket.
Royal Hawaiian main restaurant. We had a delicious dinner from dusk to night while feeling a pleasant breeze.
Long wait time between foods
Great taste satisfies the five senses
The small plate sashimi was rather small but suitable as an appetizer.
The large plate lip steak was both satisfying both taste and volume, and it was amazing enough to be called the signature menu. The last dessert wine and cheesecake you'll have will be a pleasant memory of Hawaii.
This was our first experience at Azure and we were very impressed. The restaurant is within the stately Royal Hawaiian Hotel on Waikiki Beach overlooking Diamond Head. We opted for the 5 course treating menu and every dish was extremely creatively presented and the flavors were sublime. Although it was a "tasting" menu, we were more than content when dinner was complete. Raymond was an outstanding server: very professional and affable. I also enjoyed the pacing of the dinner; unrushed, with ample time to enjoy every dish. This was a superb experience and we look forward to returning in the future!
Went for lunch and had about a 30 minute wait. The service was very fast and tasty. The pulled pork and short ribs were awsome...highly recommend.
Extremely high standard of food and service.
Thank you to Scott especially for making dining here a great experience.
Great location, good food as long as you do not eat the deep fried whole fish. We paid $140 for a snaper but it was over fried, no taste. But my salad was very good n the service was good too. I go to Hawaii the last 10 years, 1 mo in Honolulu every year. In 10 years 1st time i went to Azure n i dont think i ll go back. There r so many other restaurants in Honolulu better and less expensive especially if one likes Asian food.
Food great. Wait staff great. 2 star is for the hostess stand. I almost walked because the hostess act like they are doing you a favor. But food was great. My server was awesome his name was Bret
Definitely great ambience and freshest seafood available. Bit too salty though
Had a great night at Azure and John made an amazing job in making everything happen. Unfortunately due to kitchen maintenance the food was a bit rushed out, but we knew that this was gonna happen. Quality of food was superb, we had fish, seafood and meat. The complimentary desert as an apology for the maintenance was unexpected (and good). Overall: great experience. Will be back when I'm on the islands the next time.
Excellent food, pleasant atmosphere and great service.
Went here for a private event on the beach. Great location. And very attentive staff. The drinks were strong and tasty. Only had appetizers but they were tasty and locally inspired.
Personally it was a 6 out of 5 STAR experience for my wife and I for my 48th bday. Thank you Azure for making it a very memorable experience with such ONO food and over the top hospitality from I think the Mgr, Asian guy whom was full of ALOHA and our waiter who made us feel like celebrities HAHA Bravo Bravo
Just had a great breakfast overlooking Waikiki Beach. The pork hash with poached egg was delicious and the service was great.
Azure is a beautiful restaurant with an amazing spot right on waikiki beach - highly recommend booking close to sunset time! The 'island style' preparation of the fresh catch was amazing and the meyer lemon cheesecake for dessert is something special!! Ask the wait staff for their helpful recommendations.
Azure It was definitely delicious Sit on the seaside side but the best location All the seafood was also delicious and good.
I want to go again next year.
My friend and I had a beautiful meal here, featuring fresh seafood. Our waiter, Scott , was fantastic, giving informed advice on food and wine selections. The food was beautifully presented, the atmosphere most enjoyable.
Very good food! No star cuisine but a great location and nice service.
Great for special evenings!
We had our best meal whilst in Waikiki here. We chose to go with the tasting menu with matching wines - all five courses were amazing and the wines a perfect match to each course - my favourite was the beef dish followed closely by the lobster. The childrens menu consisted of three courses - starting with a fruit bowl, steak or fish and chocolate cake. My daughter ate nearly everything. Great experience. Our waiter Scott was great. Definitely worth a visit
Location was good, to dark to see the view or oceans at night. Food was more about presentation that taste or quality. Skip and find something better.
The shrimp intestines are not cleaned, the beef seasoning is too salty, especially compared to the Orchids of Halekurani eaten the day before, although the price is similar but the taste is really too bad! Worse dining experience in Hawaii!
The location and the atmosphere of this restaurant is great, the food was excellent and the seafood was as fresh as it can get.
The only downside of this restaurant is the service it s substandard and needs improvement.
I highly recommend this restaurant though.
Terrace seats in front of the beach.
I used it for lunch.
Plumeria Beach House in Kahala has a unique atmosphere.
Order pizza and pasta.
I think it's better to share because the amount is large.
Grapefruit juice was delicious.
Good price for quality
It might be reasonable considering the location.
It's located at Royal Hawaiian Hotel by the beach. We had ocean salad, daily fish, surf and reef, which were so fresh, well cooked and prepared. The waiter was very kind and professional. It feels historical. The classical fixtures, ceiling and minimal interior creates nice ambiance. We had memorial experience, would come back next time to Waikiki.
This restaurant is wonderful! The picture of the view of Waikiki Beach is spot on. The staff is friendly and they don't hover or rush you. The food is simply spectacular! Will definitely go here again when I come back to Waikiki!!
The taste of the dish is delicious. Service is also good. However, it is not a calm location because there are many people passing by on the beach in front of me.
Located in the amazing Royal Hawaii hotel, what an amazing place to get great food. Our bartender AJ was friendly and informative. We had a great time chatting with the staff while sipping some great wine paired with amazing food. We did the shashimi platter and seared tuna with scallops. Yummy!
I came here for the mai tai bar but unfortunately its closed. So I went I to Azure, all I want is a drink but not a single person greeted me, not an employee to be seen, multiple people behind the bar(hard to tell if employees if they were they should be fired) nobody looked at me. It appears as if my money isn't good enough here, my mistake. Guess you'd rather see Lamborghini customers instead of Corvette.
overpriced but you can't beat the location and ambiance.
Food was excellent. Offered additional meal not on menu due to dietary restrictions without any promoting. Customer service was incredible.
Food was worth 4.5 stars but the service is less than a 1. Requested outside by the beach. They stack all the beach chairs right along the railing. So great view if you like to stare at beach chairs and people sleeping on the beach. They most definitely could clean it up.
Great food and atmosphere. Outside seating area is beautiful since it's right next to the beach. We got the Azure tasting menu and as expected for a place like this, the portions are small and the prices are very expensive, but the food itself was great. Most of the courses were tasty and well made. We switched out the main course for a fish of the day dish and unfortunately it was probably my least favorite out of all the dishes. The fish was too firm and didn't taste as good as I wanted it to be. But everything else was great. We also got our dinner with the wine tasting and the selection of wine was good. Our waiter was also very nice, if not a little hard to hear since he was very quiet, but he gave us additional wines to taste that weren't on the tasting menu and also offered to take pictures for us. Overall good experience. Make sure you reserve a table beforehand or else you'll get an indoor table with no view.
Great place to eat, we had John as our server. He is the best very professional an to the point and helpful. Every thing we got was great.
They diligent people, great service, and the place is very unique...
Foods were awesome and looked so fancy and delicious.
Our server was so kind and professional. He was so patient with us as we made our menu selections. The garlic prawns were magnificent., perfectly seasoned and consistency. The beef and reef was the best, perfectly seasoned with a hint of truffle oil. Expect a high bill but it was totally worth it and expected in a fine dining restaurant. It will be a spot for future celebrations. Thank you, Azure staff for a memorable evening
Very good service. The food is delicious. Very clean restaurant and a nice view of the beach.
Best of the best in Waikiki! Service, ambiance and cuisine are all exceptional.
I find it slightly humorous that Waikiki's famous Royal Hawaiian Hotel which is aptly named "The Pink Palace" (as it is painted in pastel pink) names its premier restaurant Azure.
Despite the conflicting contrast of colour names (but the Pink Palace does overlook the azure blue Pacific Ocean) - Azure is a wonderful Waikiki beachfront restaurant specialising in fresh seafood locally caught and bought daily from the fishing boats that come into Honolulu's fish auction each morning.
Azure is set in a pleasant oceanfront space. Outside, under the veranda, you can dine outside right next to the sands of Waikiki in a lavish cushioned cabana with a view of the beach and Diamond Head (but you will pay for the privilege). Inside it's like entering a plantation mansion that has been blended with a touch of the Moroccan - white columns, polished floorboards and Arabian-style lamps that sit on the benches, bar and tables. Azure - cabana service
I've dined at Azure a couple of times over the years, once without a booking but I was able to sit at the wooden bar when reassured that we would still get full service and the full menu.
I get a little awkward sitting at the bar to dine. In Australia I find that you tend to get treated as an inferior as you are a walk in without a reservation. But thankfully it's different in the good 'ol US of A. You aren't stateless - you're still a welcomed guest (and we were joined by others).
Barman, Robert, was most welcoming and accommodating and was able to make some suggestions that proved to be spot on and without a doubt his advice contributed to Azure being one of the top dining experiences I've had on Oahu.
The menu concentrates on seafood with local Hawaiian tropical influences (and a little fusion) and choosing such is perfect for the setting and the dining experience. It is balanced by some meat selections with a five-course tasting menu (that features both seafood and meat).
The tasting menu was tempting but after a day in the sun we shared a salad and had a main course each.
Robert brought us a basket of mixed fresh bread with house-made butter sprinkled with pink Hawaiian sea salt as well as some crab dip while we eyed the main menu.
My wife and I had to have fish so we decided to choose one of the local "catches of the day" (the opakapaka which is a pink snapper) and had it simply cooked - that is seared. I could choose two sides and decided upon the oven roasted Twin Bridges asparagus and wok charred Ho Farms long bean with soy and garlic. It was a nice piece of fillet that was heat roasted and served with a white wine herb and lemon caper sauce. A classic.
My wife can never resist scallops and ordered the seared Hawaiian yellow fin Ahi and Hokkaido Scallop with an "eight spice" blend, sake braised spinach, prosciutto wrapped enoki mushrooms all in a port wine buerre sauce. The spice is basically a Cajun-style blackened spice for the fish. It was pan fried and surrounded with plump scallops wrapped mushrooms and spinach. It all sat on a the rich wine sauce. Spicy with a rustic richness, the tuna was seared perfectly allowing its raw pinkness to shine through.
Azure is a wonderful restaurant set in an ocean-front icon and offers innovative dishes with quality and service expected of a top notch establishment.
My wife and I came to Azure for our first romantic night out in Oahu. We came to Hawaii for our honeymoon and we were so excited to come to Azure based on all the raving reviews on Yelp and Google. I couldn't be more disappointed.
During dinner a COCKROACH crawled under our table right by my wife's feet and settled at a table across from us. We quietly spoke to the waiter to have it removed. Seeing a cockroach wasn't the biggest disappointment.
When we asked to speak with a manager he made us wait 20 minutes. When he finally arrived he spoke to us as if he was in a rush and needed to deal with us quickly. He was rude and acted as if it wasn't a big deal. My wife and I didn't expect much from him. We were looking for a sincere apology and for the manager to recognize that we were on our honeymoon and that our night was spoiled. I was offended that he rushed through the conversation and didn't even offer a free desert or something. The ENTIRE WAIT STAFF SINCERELY APOLOGIZED TO US EXCEPT HIM.
The one thing I expected was for him to say "I'm sorry, what can we do to make it up to you?" Such a disappointment when you go to a nice restaurant and it's management doesn't know how to treat their customers.
Very very satisfied! Food was delicious, and I was treated like a very kind employee to live music. I also received a gift of delicious chocolate cake I was pregnant. Thanks to this, I was able to make the finish to Hawaii cool.
Unbeatable view right on Waikiki beach with fresh and aesthetically plated fish. Loud bar music from next door and an inattentive hostess knocks off a star for me though.
Walked in at 5:45 pm and they had an empty dining room, but we were turned away because we didnt have a reservation. I asked if I could make a reservation, but they said they were full. What a joke.
We had an excellent meal here, the best we had in more than two weeks in Hawaii. The surf and turf was incredible, the best I've ever had. The service was equally impressive, yet also super friendly. Would recommend Azure to anyone, especially couples looking to celebrate!
The ahi tuna was amazing! So nice stuff and beautiful restaurant!!!!
Sadly, I was very disappointed by our experience at Azure. The hostess staff was rude, our tasting menu meal was boring, ill-timed and the food was adequate, but forgettable. Our waitress was kind and trying her hardest, but it was apparent the waitstaff overall was very disorganized. With one night in Honolulu for a romantic getaway, I wish we'd chosen one of the many other fantastic restaurants in the Waikiki area whose popularity isn't solely based on uninformed tourists lured by its pricey beachside location.
We had an absolutely fantastic evening at the Azure. I took the five-course Prix Fixe Menu, which was excellent. The location and atmosphere are just great.
Meh!!! I was underwhelmed and that is all worth saying
The service was very good and I was satisfied with the course menu.
Absolutely beautiful location with stunning views of Waikiki and Diamond Head. Great food and service. Plus the Roayal Hawaiian Hotel is so unique and a must visit while in Honolulu.
Where to get it from Waikiki's bustling beaches.
The outdoors watching the sunset are good,
Adding delicious food to sparkling wine in a more pleasant interior will add gold.
The counter staff wasn't just unkind, but the servers in charge were very nice. Excessive humor.
The price is not expensive, so I am more satisfied
You can enjoy good food in the scenery of Hawaii.
Affordable Napa wine is also available, and a good wine selection.
Seafood is recommended.
We were there for our anniversary dinner and both Sam and Tom provided unparalleled service. The food was fantastic and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend.
wonderful. The view is awesome. Exquisite food and 10 star service. I recommend it 1000%
