WOW! I was simply blown away. As a Certified Beer Judge, I have had occasion to try many of Avery's special release beers (barrel aged and sours), however, i had no idea what I was in store for at Avery Brewin'g new taproom! I found the space to be clean and sparse but very good for handling the large crowds that were there that day. I cannot review all of the beers I had as there isn't space enough here on Google. I was blown away by the offerings. I also enjoyed both a lunch and dinner here while on my trip and was quite pleased with the food!

A must visit if in Boulder. Beer and food were great. Servers were very knowledge and friendly. The brewery has a canopy for guests to watch the day to day brew house activities with a more formal tour once each day.

Don't bother with going to Coor's this brewery kicks it's ass!! So many beers on tap for sale(bring a growler) great food!! We had the legs and thighs with a phenomenal blue cheese dressing with huge chunks of cheese!! My GF who is not a beer drinker loved it enjoyed the strongest of beers the most!! Come early get a beer and take the tour!!

I think as far as breweries go, this was probably one of my favorite experiences because of the wide variety of experiences you can have at Avery.

There is a self guided brewery tour where you can go into the brewery (beware, it's loud!) and get drinks at the bar that holds about 8-9 of their beers on tap. They actually have probably over 30 beers at the brewery and some very rare ones so definitely check out all the available bars.

Downstairs, there's a sort of "pub" where you can sit at the bar and get the entire tap list. They have high boys & a nice outdoor area for warmer days. It was freezing when I went so we tried not to be outside.

Upstairs there's a store that has a lot of cool Avery gear, and a dining room / restaurant that presumably serves similar food to the pub but is just more civilized for families. The whole place is huge, and their beers are great, many are 17%!!! ... awesome experience indeed!

Food: A; Beer: A+; Service: D-. Wife and I sat for quite a while waiting at the window seats and I finally went to the bar to get a menu. Waitress eventually shows up and we order. She asks for a credit card and brings us the check BEFORE the food. Another waitress brings the food. We could see there was more than we could eat so we ask for a box. 15 minutes later a waiter walks by. I raise a hand towards him and he stops and asks if we need something. We ask HIM for a box. We finish what we could eat and waste another 15 minutes waiting. I finally go to the bar and ask "what's it take to get a to-go box" and finally get one. There are 4 waiters standing about, chatting. The waitress who took the order never stopped by although we could see her walking about, just not near us. Even low-end restaurants' wait staff takes a LITTLE interest in their customers. We left a 25% tip because the food WAS good as was the beer, but it will be a while before I try that place again. A long while.

Staff were super friendly and very helpful. We had some food and it was good. The space is a little disjointed, with a few smallish rooms. Gives it the feeling of a smaller place even though it's really rather large. We grabbed a couple Adirondack chairs with a wine barrel table and enjoyed a very interesting flight. The selection of beers, all their own, is spectacular!

Had some really interesting beers here one which was brewed with Orval-style brettanomyces yeast was pretty great but will probably stick to bottles of Avery from the liquor store after receiving bizarre treatment from staff. One of our party was refused service by a bartender (Ray), on our third round, because one of his two IDs had expired (about a week previously). This decision struck us as deeply illogical on a number of grounds, and really soured our mood. Not having a final beer didn't kill us, but being treated in an officious, paranoid, and somewhat xenophobic way by staff, who forced us to call our evening short, was unacceptable to our party and left us bitter in a very non IBU way.

We dropped in Monday afternoon, just after the tour.

They had an amazing selection of beers, many different styles to choose from and we found two seats at the end of the bar.

The crowd was in a really good mood and we really enjoyed our beers.

Note that the food is from a catering company just across the way, so the "waiters" for your food and the bartenders for Avery are working in cooperation, just not for the same company.

My wife and I really enjoyed the Karma, Maharaja, Summer's Day and the Twenty.

I enjoyed the Bad Apple and 2013 Samael's and my wife really enjoyed the Bhakti Chai Brown, it was not terribly sweet, so it scored well with her.

We both have been enjoying Avery's beers for quite a few years, but it was one of the few breweries in Boulder that we had not yet made it to. It will be a regular stop in our future.

Best brewery in Colorado. All the beers are fantastic (which is impressive given they have 30 taps), and the service matches it. Also, the food is amazing. It's my favorite place to bring friends from out of town.

My wife and I use to be able to sit outside or at one of the bars and listen to each other talk.....now we are forced to listen to loud music. Not just loud music but music that does not fit the vibe that use to be. It's not the same and it's the reason we won't go back.

Great beers and great food! Stopped here mostly for the beer but decided to get something for lunch. The smoked meat selection was great. I would come back alone for that. A lot of the beers are a bit heavy on the Abv side. Keep that in mind if you want to try a lot.

Fantastic brewery. The beer is top notch (I especially enjoyed the 2012 Beast Cru!). The server, Sarah, was exceedingly attentive. We talked a bunch of beer, and she gave me some great recommendations (Uncle Jacob s Stout!). The facility was packed, but I got a solo spot at the bar, no problem. I didn t have the food, so obviously I can t comment on that, but the facility was great. Easy parking. Cool little merch shop. All around the best beer around Boulder. 5 stars.

4 stars for the brewery. 2 stars for the food, averaging to 3 stars.

This place has more beer on tap than your typical brewery. Some of the best and most unique beers in the country, but like all breweries they make some bad beer. Get a splash to taste before you get a full pour to make sure you like it. Their sours and stouts great. Go in good weather and enjoy your beer on the patio and skip the food, it s too expensive for bar food but their draft prices are great.

Food was good, beer was great. Only downside was it took us an hour or so to get a table. Fair disclosure though, we had a big group and we did get free beers for the long wait. I'll definitely be back for sure, just with a smaller crew.

I brew my own beer, and Avery brewing gives me something to strive for. We went on the 1hr tour which was very informative, even for someone who brews their own beer.
The food was great (I had the nachos and ribs to share) and the beer was amazing. Samael was the best and the bourbon barrel was great as well as the Beast.
I want to come back every time I go to Boulder!

My holy grail of craft beer did not disappoint. 30 beers on tap, amazing food (fried chicken on Monday and Andy's rib plate tonight) and super friendly and accommodating staff.

They always say "never meet your heroes." I'm damned glad I met mine by finally visiting Avery Brewing.

Favorite in Boulder. Huge, neat facility. Excellent beer styles on tap and to go. Taking the paid tour is worth it - plenty of samples, informative enough to increase appreciation of the brewery, and you keep the taster glass. Grab a sticker while you're there.

Overall, eh, and it was our first time here.

Overall, eh, and it was our first time here.

Pretty neat place inside, modern and clean. The beer itself was good, the food and service was disappointing. The queso appetizer was just bad - the smoked pork was cold and not well seasoned and the queso was lukewarm, bland, and gritty (the sauce was broken). The tacos were okay, good flavor but cold, with the rice being cold and bit bland and the beans being mediocre, the fennel salad was decent. Informed the staff of the queso (didn't say anything about the tacos as we were hungry and they tasted good though cold) and they comped it, and gave us some small complimentary beers. This was a very nice gesture and appreciated but sadly one of the glasses had a hair on the inside of the rim of the beer. Informed the staff again and after apologizing and offering to get us someone else, which we declined as the hair was in a glass of free beer, they took it away and gave us a new set of complimentary beers.

The one thing that left a sour taste in our mouth was the beginning of our service. We came in about 8:45 PM knowing they closed at 10 PM, so we figured we had a good amount of time to order food without it being too late for the kitchen. Upon getting menus our server/bartender told us that the kitchen was doing a last call on food, as it takes them awhile to break down and clean. Not a big deal, but being our first time and seeing a menu we didn't know what was good, what everything was, etc. Our server/bartender came back a couple minutes later to take our order and we hadn't decided, to which we asked for a couple more minutes, and he responded in a way that made us feel rushed to decide so he could get it to the kitchen. We told him that we still needed a couple minutes, he complied, and we ordered our food. We did not like that we were being rushed to order our food, and how rather than giving us our couple minutes the first time we asked he attempted to get us to order right away.

It honestly was a disappointment. We're from out of town and had a long day at the Rocky Mountain National Park and we're looking forward to a big, nice meal and great beer to end the day. Instead we got cold food and left a bit hungry. At least the beer was good.

Lots of breweries are handling the Covid situation better than Avery. Very few spots available , you can wait at a barrel with no shade or chairs for the hour or more it takes to get a place to sit. After waiting for 40 mins and not being impressed by the 5 beers we tried we gave up our spot in line and left.

Super busy on a Sunday afternoon but the staff is super accommodating and the beers are great. They also serve great food to pair with the amazing selection of beers. A must visit in Boulder.

Great place to hang with plenty of parking. The food was really good, I had the pulled pork queso dip, and there's a plethora of beers on tap representing a full range of styles. Had a few taproom only rarities also, like the Double Barrel Maple stout which was fantastic.

I've been to a lot of breweries and this one is by far one of the best. Let's start with parking. There's plenty of it because this is a popular place. Next, let's talk about the atmosphere. Fantastic!!! Really great atmosphere whether you're hanging outside on the patio, inside at the downstairs bar area, or upstairs at the THIRD bar area. They're so accommodating that you can create your own flight. They have pairing suggestions if you choose to eat one of their amazing food items. I suggest looking at the daily special so you can get a great pairing and a great meal. Wednesday's you get a burger with a beer for $15. Any beer. Read it again: Any beer. I highly recommend the jackfruit tacos and salmon as well. Before you leave visit the catwalk and take a tour of the brewery (take a beer with you) and stop by the gift shop. They have great quality items and something is always on sale. Bring your kids, they'll like the food too.

A ton of great outdoor space with lots of beers on tap!! There is a virtual line you can join on their website, we did that and got there when there was 1 person in front of us in line ! Be aware that we were a group of 5 (plus 1 dog) and were lucky enough to score a table but they also have barrels that they are seating people at where you are required to sit on the grass if you want to sit. Otherwise friendly service that was fast and beers that were delicious!

I cant find one good thing to say about avery. the place is cool but the bartenders are dicks. If I had a question they talked to me as if I were a child and looked annoyed. I tried three beer all were pretty bad, especially the white rascal. Food was overpriced and I felt ripped off for the quality. this is the worst taproom I have been to in colorado

Nowhere to have a Reverand at the huge new facility. All tables and stools in the Taproom and restaurant are reserved. At 4 on a February Saturday an hour and a half wait for a seat. The new merchandise area is almost as big as the old Avery. Avery is now a huge canning operation that has restaurants that offer its beer. We love change when it's for the better. We left without buying a thing.

Best craft brew in the country, hands down. To to bottom the best beer selecting a have ever had, really!

This brewery is an adventure, shops, food and a stellar tap room. Honestly, do not odd this place up is you are a bet lover.

What a fun place to visit! We had a great time taking a brewery tour. This is truly a destination brewery. Fun and lively in all areas. A very busy taproom downstairs with a, still busy, but less crowded dining area upstairs. We will be back.

Per my niece's recommendation, we went so I could try the Shepherds Pie. Our good waiter, Tyler, suggested I try a lager/rose drink and it was tasty! I'm not even a beer drinker! My only complaint about the pie is that it needed more mashed potatoes (cause they were freaking delicious) and less bbq sauce on the meat part. It was overwhelming. Nonetheless, I will be back to try something else.

I ve probably been to Avery at least 50-100 times and every single time it s great. The service is fantastic and the beer and food is even better. The dog friendly patio is a lot of fun in the summer time!

Meat, meat, meat. That about says it all for the food at Avery--and it's the name of my favorite dish there. The meats are excellent; the beer is fantastic. The best thing about going to Avery are the crazy, unusual, experimental, small-batch beers they have on tap that they don't can or bottle. Be sure to try all the unique beers because you can't get them anywhere else.

It's a taphouse at the brewery that makes the beer. They have the beer from that brewery. They have lots of beers that aren't available anywhere else. The bar is nice to sit at. Food is available at the bar as well. There is a little gift shop with branded merchandise and bottles to go. Self-guided tour that consists of a catwalk that overviews all the equipment.

Excellent beer and excellent venue! Great place to meet for a pint, or one of their many awesome events. However, I recommend you stay away from the nearby inn no matter how convenient or affordable it may seem. Horrible service there that will do nothing but try to ruin your amazing Avery experience.

This is probably my new number one brewery. Food, games, beer and friendly service. Open a tab at one bar or restaurant and it follows you. They pool tips and everyone serves you. They have guided and self guided tours. There is a cat walk that goes front to back and you can take your beers with you. On weekends there are taps in the back of the brewery to try new or top off.

Great beer, with a wide variety of styles and tap-room only special brews. Service was great, both attentive and friendly. My only complaint is the prices seemed significantly higher than the other tap rooms in the area, especially for the barrel-aged stuff. I wanted to try more of them, but they were just too expensive.

This place is okay. It s not your normal brewery vibe. Not the chill relaxed atmosphere you ll find at most breweries. It is a big place and includes a restaurant which is nice. We didn t try the food but sampled quite a few beers. I enjoyed the Avery IPA but it too is just an average IPA, nothing special. It s nice that they have a self tour and you can see the whole process. Place is clean and well kept inside and out. Worth a visit but now since I ve had mine I ll prob opt for somewhere else next trip. I can give it. 3.5
