My mother moved in kicking and screaming saying she was never moving out of her home and I had the POA so I moved her in after several falls in the condo and after three weeks of refusing to leave the apartment she started joining the activities like chair yoga, corn hole, and bingo,. Now she says she wish she did it 10 years ago

The sales person was so nice and extremely knowledgeable. Unfortunately the facility needs a lot of work. It is old and dated. Furniture is worn and carpet is dirty and old. Apartments are a nice size but with all the newer facilities in the area with comparable prices , why would I bring my family here? Get facelift and maybe I will be back.

I must say being a patient advocate for 29 years, I feel the administrative department and nursing goes above and beyond. Coordinating a transport of a patient from New York to Florida while taking so many precautions to keep the staff and residents safe during this pandemic .They provide a high quality of care at a very reasonable price. Take a tour of the facility and you will see For yourself that are family member becomes theirs, It s a complete game changer when they have such communication with their family members.#Dignity

We first moved our mother in when this facility was run by Emeritus and it was wonderful. When Brookdale purchased it and took over it went downhill immediately. The quality of the food went downhill. The staff was let go and not replaced. And the monthly rate increased. Phone calls are not returned from staff. Definitely sub par for the enormous amount of money spent monthly on one room, and no extra care. The only star of this show is Bruce, the event coordinator, who was an Emeritus employee that they kept on.

We moved my mom into Brookdale about 8 months ago after an extensive tour of Broward County ALFs, feeling it was the best fit for her situation. Since then, we've seen some positive changes in leadership that have given us a strong sense of comfort regarding mom's care. One night recently, my sister and I became concerned when Mom wasn't answering her phone at a time we knew she should be in her room. At 10:45 pm I called the front desk and expressed our concern. The attendant radioed the nurse on duty who did a bed check, found my mother comfortably asleep and discovered that her phone charging base was unplugged. This was all done within minutes of my call - we could not have asked for better customer service.

A terribly run community. Brookdale will take care of your family member in a manner that is convenient for them not out of awareness or attention to his or her needs. No communication and no support from staff. Billing and invoicing department has no clue, I moved my mother out after one month and her it is 2 months later and I am receiving invoices with credits, then receiving a check, which I deposited, then they preceded to cancel which cost ME $30 and know receiving a bill with a $250 late fee. I try to call to work out the situation but the director MATT is too busy to field my call or return them. BRING A BROOM THIS PLACE IS A MESS. They lied to us straight faced on our community tours. Stay away.

We moved our loved one into the community several weeks ago during the COVID quarantine. Our sales person was extremely helpful and made sure the experience was top notch through every step. We were nervous making such a big step without being able to see the community but we had to take a leap of faith. There is the normal two week quarantine which isn't ideal but the community has been COVID free the whole time so it is a price we were willing to take to ensure a safe transition. Come to find out every community we researched was requiring a minimum of a two week quarantine as well. The food is delicious and we do love how we could visit our loved one through a glass door or FaceTime with them. I would recommend this community to others in the future.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. My aunt was stuck in this facility by someone that isn't even related to her, which I won't get into it but since the majority of the people do not speak English it's quite a chore for them to actually transfer me to her so I can talk with her. Last week they told me she was in crisis care and when I asked what that was the non-English person just kept saying they were in her room. Turns out she was talking about an entirely different person but I still wasn't able to talk with my aunt. I tried again just now and they transferred me to the wrong unit and then I was told they didn't have enough people for someone to go and bring my aunt to the phone. I called back and asked for the NAME of a director or manager and NOT to be transferred again and yep...they transferred me to a voicemail. I left a message but I doubt i'll hear from anyone. I wouldn't put someone I hated in this place.
