Lovely experience for the family, only few complaints were lots of the exhibits were closed for breeding (obviously not something that can be planned but was a little disappointing.) And that the pram hires need to be returned to the top office (a little difficult if you are leaving from the bottom with 2 tired children.)

Well worth th visit. The free flight bird show and seal performance were highlights for us.

Buy your ticket online before visiting, take the ferry across from Circular Quay and then use the free cable car to get to the zoo entry.

Good way to spend half a day. Go there by 11:30 use the ferry's and take the cable car up and then make your way down. Must watch the seal show at 2pm and then the bird show at 3pm. You can even pet and feed some animals. Do the animal encounters it's worth going there.

Great place to visit with kids. I should have taken the ferry as navigation was a nightmare - I have no idea how to get through Sydney. On the plus side parking was easy. The exhibits were as pleasant as other zoos but the natural surrounds were breathtaking. The tree top walk looked good and was a point of difference. As always you have to pay extra for this. The best part was that our Melbourne Zoo membership allowed free entry, otherwise it was going to be too expensive to visit.

Great zoo. If you have purchased the tickets, you can ride the sky cable car to or from the zoo, but I noticed it too late so when my friends and I wanted to ride it, the place has closed. So my advice is to use the free ride to travel from port/bus stop to the zoo, and exit the zoo via the zoo shop.

Was a really cool zoo, very big. Lots to see and the shows are quite good as well. I'd say the food is pretty awful, preheated food is stored in a cabinet in which you pick your own out, so if say bring your own food. They have really good souvenir shops so beware to spend more than planned! Overall enjoyed my first time here

I have been at the Zoo over many years as a child growing up such wonderful memories to be shared with Family I have seen changes take place over 65 years for the better. Thank You to all the Staff throughout the years and present you are doing a great community service not just to all Australian Families but International Visitors that visit our beautiful city of Sydney and travel far afield in my country Australia.

Always superb. New Tiger enclosure very well designed and spacious for these beautiful animals. Watching the interaction between the female elephants and the young calf a treat. Even included a swim by his mother while auntie babysat. Fabulous.

Took one star off because it's a zoo... some cages/spaces seem small compared to other zoos. But it's right on the harbor, is heavily wooded, and the tramways are useful to get in and out when using the ferries. Useful for tourists to get really close to native Australian species.

This place is good. But the only different from other zoo is they have kangaroo and koala. Even for koala, if u want to see them up close, u need to pay more. And ure also not allow to touch them (rhw animals)

Beautiful location and of course so are the animals. Not as good as it used to be (because of all the up-selling on things that used to be free) but you can still have a nice family day out.

A wonderful way to see some of the world's interesting animals. Getting there is relatively easy on public transport. Check online for discounts before arriving, there's a current promotion for a $1 ticket if you go on your birthday. The pathways around the zoo are a little difficult to navigate and could do with more signage. Be prepared for a fair amount of walking and a lot of hills. Plenty of places to have a picnic lunch also.

The cable ride in from the ferry is pretty cool. Get to see a bit more than just on the ground. The shows are great, especially the seals, but the QBE Birds was something else. Owls flying so close you can feel the wind off their wings and a black cockatoo touched my hair as it flew over me.

Currently under major renovation but yet they still charge their nominal fee. Other exhibits are poorly managed overgrown or too small. Major disappointment for one of Sydney's major attractions.

It's one of the best zoos in the world. It has spectacular harbour view background, which is second to none. They look after the animals very well. It's easy access from Circular Quay by a ferry is a bonus. It's highly recommended for Sydney visitors.

Loved spending time with my son and wife at the Taronga zoo. Got to know a lot from our own guide and 'Zoo Volunteer in training' , Ms Rachel, who took us through some brilliant facts about the animals. Thank you Ms. Rachel and to all at Taronga zoo for preserving such an amazing part of our earth and making it so convenient for our younger generation to witness first hand. For the wild!

Very nice zoo, I spent there 4 hours, but it was not enough. Many different species of animals, also few interesting solutions like "travel to Tasmania simulator" where all the tigers are located. Also was nice to use the dedicated app on mobile phone instead of paper map.

Great place to spend the day. Exquisite, luscious location. Great for kids.

The new state of the art habitat classrooms are definitely worth a look if you get the chance.

Tip: take the ferry there and do a bushwalk up through the forest to get to the main entrance.

Nice zoo with quite a few of different animals. The best part is this zoo have the best view of Sydney city, no other zoo I visited offer a great view of their city. There are quite a few animal shows. But the best part still is taking photo with Koala even cost extra.

Pretty big zoo with a great variety of animals to see and some additional experiences, but to be honest I was expecting a bit more. Some of the atractions were closed when we visited, but at least the concert for the Twilight at the Zoo was wicked :)

This is one of the top 10 places to visit in Sydney anytime of the year. We absolutely love it. You can spend the whole day! Great facilities and food court. However we like to bring our own food for the kids.

I love animals and with that visit a lot of zoo's ...

I love animals and with that visit a lot of zoo's every chance I get, and I have to say this is one of the best I have ever seen.

the zoo is big and can take a while to walk so make sure you get there as early as possible to get the full day in, ticket prices are really good but if you can get yourself the Sydney ferry and zoo ticket in one. It is a nice way to see the harbour going over and they the zoo itself.

Once in the zoo make sure you explorer everywhere here is some amazing places for sights or the city and photo opportunity's.

If you have to see anything at the zoo make sure you make time to see the QBE bird show and the seal show also. They are not only a wonderful thing to see but are educational for yourself and the kids.

If you really want to see the zoo and the animals though I would suggest the Road and Snore option this allows you to meet late after the park closes you enter and are taking to the camping area where you will see you cabin for the night and be able to drop any bags you have brought, from there they will do a small talk and introduce you to a few animals to get a little closer. (Note when I did it, it was lizards and snakes, only a note as some people don't like them).

After the talk you are treated a walk around the park which allows a much better look at some of the nocturnal animals in the zoo. from there you will walk down and enjoy a nice meal inside the zoo itself and finally after that it is off to bed.

The next morning you will have access to the park with the keepers before the gates open again to see some of the animals who can be lazy or hide once it gets a little hot. (The animals you will see depend on the keepers with you but normally you will be told the night before). from there you normally collect your bags and go for a bit of a close up with some of the Australian wildlife and finally the park is yours to explore for the day.
