This is pretty much my go-to place for sheet music, instrument repair, lessons for my kids and percussion instruments. The staff is great and I personally love that they are all working musicians.

Great service and support for local music at many levels. Have had service cleaning on an older brass instrument with excellent results. Currently utilizing generous purchase contract terms for an entry-intermediate woodwind. Have also been able to readily acquire sheet music for student practice and solo competition.
A very nice and small-ish music store that offers lessons too. The staff are very nice and say hi every week when I come in for drum lessons.

Went here as a kid in high school and were great then. Took our old instruments in to see if we could sell them back. We could not, but they gave both instruments a thorough once-over, cleaned two mouthpieces, and told us where we might sell them, and what to ask, without charging anything. Very generous with their time. Thank you!

ONLY going there for all of our musical instrument needs! Stopped in today to have a SAX repaired and they took care of me immediately! Such polite staff and very thorough. I used to go to another music shop in the village Webster but they were always rude and act like they don't want to be bothered but Atlas treats you like you are the most important customer that has ever walked in their door and they don't treat you like you are stupid if you have a question. Atlas has been a mainstay for musicians on the East side of Rochester for literally dozens of years. I've been going here since I was a student trumpet player and now I'm going here for my three daughters as they begin their own music education. You can always count on solid advice that isn't driven by a desire to just maximize sale price. I've never felt any pressure to buy more than what is needed. It always feels like you can trust what they are telling you and they have your interest in mind. Not surprising for a place that's been around this long.
Took a saxophone to get fixed up and was almost ripped off 200+ dollars. They said mold was growing inside and that was a lie. We got someone to look at it amd there was no mold whatsoever. Also got put down about everything that the technician did not like. Not going back ever again. We are about to get it fixed almost for free.
This store is my favorite place to go for music supplies. They have a wonderful selection of books, guitars, ukuleles, etc. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and down to earth. They also did a wonderful job repairing my trumpet.

There is much more to this store than meets the eye. It is worth the drive across town because they have had what I needed when other music stores have not. Whether it's to purchase music, service an instrument, rent an instrument, or get instrument supplies, they have always met or exceeded my expectations. They are reliable, professional, and courteous.
