The bartenders are very attentive and the drinks are exceptional. However, the manager approached our group and told us that we were too loud and inappropriate. We are all over 50 years old and were very embarrassed. We aplologized to those around us. No one had any idea what we were talking about. When I approached the manager and told him how he embarrassed us, he told me that I could choose another establishment. After 35 years of going there, I will never step foot in there as long as he works there.

The Atlantic is a must go even if just for a Drink. They do no accept reservations so it can be hard to get in to. If you can t get in eat at the bar ( they serve bacon as a snack! )And get a speciality cocktail. It is a bit pricy and the no reservations can be a challenge so we gave it a Four. But you can t beat the view!

Food was bland and just not that good. Had the lobster mac and cheese (skip). Husband ordered the lamb burger and it wasn't too bad just needed some flavor. The truffle fries were delicious. We also had the crab cake to start and it was so salty. The best thing was the margherita pizza that we ordered for the kids. 2 things about this pizza, it's not margherita at all...it's just plain cheese pizza. Secondly, one order is enough for 2 kids (our waiter lied and described it as much smaller than it actually was). Overall, don't think I'd come back for the food. Maybe it's worth the ambiance and drinks only...but the food for me was not good or great. Our waiter was really nice and attentive (although misleading regarding the pizza.
Not sure I'd come back though.

Despite getting a reservation, hours in advance for a large group, we were told upon our arrival that they would NOT seat us in one place and that we would have to wait 2 hours to be seated. This was purported by a man with a loud voice at the front, who seemed to like the sound of his own voice. To be that pricey and that pretentious, I am curious to see how long this place will last. We will never go back! Too many other quality and friendly places on MV to choose from. PASS!

This is the restaurant I most enjoyed while visiting. I tried the clam chowder all around town they had the best! Other items we ordered were also very good. Service was the best also out of all the restaurants we visited. View was amazing loved it so much we went back several times while on the island. Thanks guys!

Six of us on family road trip had a great meal and wonderful experience. Our waiter, John was professional and friendly. The dinners were delicious and we all shared the huge chocolate cake for dessert!

I don't know why the reviews are only two and a half Stars I consider myself picky as I dying in New York City most of the time where food is probably the best in the country and this place overall was really good. Not sure if it was because we sat in the back or the particular day we went in to eat but I have zero complaints.

Extremely disappointed with how the host treated us. At 5 pm we asked if we have to make a reservation since it was too early for us to have dinner. He said it was first come first serve all night. So walked a bit and returned 45 mins later for him to tell us he was fully booked for the night. We specifically asked. Terrible customer experience. Not sure if we would return ever.

One of my all time favorite places. The location is fantastic, overlooking Edgartown Harbor. And the service is top rate. The food is always perfectly cooked. Pricey, but worth it. My husbands favorite is the filet mignon with goat cheese More

this is the third attempt to post, it times out before i can write how the waiter acted and OVER PRICED ON MOST ALL ITEMS. I'VE EATTEN ON CRUSIES, NEW ORLEANS, AND AFRICA, BUT NEVER, EVER HAVE I HAD SUCH A RUDE MALE WAITER AS IN THIS PLACE. he must of been rude 4 times before my friends wife ask for an apoligy. we both run service company's and this isnt how a "fine Dining" place is to be.

My best experience here. Service was very friendly and professional. The food was terrific, my Osso Bucco was so tender no knife necessary, the short rib was the same, the swordfish was good just the ink sauce a bit offputting and the salmon quite good. Very enjoyable.

Atlantic is a very nice and expensive seafood restaurant. They have a wide variety of menu options from lobster to swordfish and much more. The food is very good and has a 10/10 presentation. It wasn't slow either. Looking for a nice family dinner? Say no more.

My wife and I are vegetarians and after looking at the menu with all of the side options and asking the waiter if they could make us a vegetable plate with these items he went to the kitchen and talked with the chef and returned to say they could fix a vegetable plate for each of us. However, what we got was all of the vegetable side dishes we indicated and they delivered to our table enough food to feed at least ten people. No alert, thinking or reasonable person would have thought this was what two people wanted. The cost came out to be at least three times what it should have been, $164, and after complaining about this situation to the management they have yet to acknowledge their error or willingness to make an adjustment in the charges. Our next visit to Martha's Vineyard will not include the Atlantic.

The Atlantic acts like they're some fancy night club in Vegas. They cater to boat house members only and leave other patrons waiting hours get in. In the off season they're begging for the normals
Business. This place is a joke. Even when you get in it sucks. If your name is chad or Brad you'll fit right in.

Used to be a great place. Probably won t last much longer due to arrogant management.

We were fortunate enough to visit the restaurant on the very last day of our visit to Martha s Vineyard and on the last day but the restaurant was open the season. The service was immaculate. The food was absolutely fantastic. Clam chowder if something would definitely come back for. Located right on the marina, it is perhaps one of the best restaurants on the island. Oh! Completely forgot about their Admiral Margarita. Maybe a bit pricey but definitely one of the best ones out there.

Food was average. Found the hostess and staff to be rude and unpleasant. I asked for a manager and was told NO. Rather than make a scene and ruin vacation, we left. I don't know how this establishment stays in business. Needs a complete overhaul. Start with staff training. We live in Washington DC and this place wouldn't last a year before going under.... disappointing.

But the food doesn't seem to suit Asians.

I don t know what delicious food on the first day is
The second time I went, the steak was too salty
The meat is too burnt to eat
I couldn't... I talked to the manager...
I brought you a new steak again, but ~~~
It was the same that the meat keg was burning.
And the food price is also on the expensive side.

My wife and I were looking for a place to eat dinn...

My wife and I were looking for a place to eat dinner in Edgartown last night. Most of the restaurants had hour waits or more. Without a reservation during the high season, this is normal when dining on Martha s Vineyard.

Expecting a similar wait, we tried The Atlantic. We were seated immediately. I was thankful, but it seemed odd. With beautiful views of Edgartown Harbor, the Atlantic arguably has the best location in town.

You know those menus that are so vast, you read through it a few times and you still don t know what s on it? That s The Atlantic menu. There are steaks and fish, but there were also random dishes Greek and Mexican dishes that didn t seem to fit with the venue. The server was very nice, but when we asked him what he would recommend, he said the Osso Bucco was good. Then he said everything else was very nice .

We ordered chowder, which was nothing to write home about, and a wedge salad. To preface what I ll say about the salad, countless Vineyard restaurants boast locally grown ingredients. The lettuce and tomatoes in the salad looked and tasted like they were from Stop and Shop. The blue cheese dressing I swear looked and tasted like it came from a bottle with Kraft on the label.

It then took over an hour by the time our dinner came out. It was so long I was about to tell the server that if our dishes weren t prepared yet, to just cancel the order. We ordered a burger, crab cakes, and Brussels sprouts. The Brussels were overcooked, and the rest were just average. The burger, which was 22 dollars, was not worth the money. It was something I could have ordered at Red Robin or Friday s for 8 dollars.

My overall takeaway is the Atlantic is cutting corners. The food is overpriced and average. The decor is tired and is in need of a refresh. For a restaurant on the water, the menu needs a larger focus on fresh seafood and locally grown island ingredients. I would not be surprised if the place closed or changed hands soon. It s clear why the place had no wait.

Incredible food, amazing atmosphere with stunning views of the Chappy island and harbor. Polite and interactive waitstaff, (she even took a photo of us), and large portion sizes. Amazing!

The food here has been good every time we have dined here (10-12) times. The food is consistently good. The atmosphere is great and the location on Edgartown harbor is beautiful the service can be a bit off sometimes I think because the wait staff has tables in different areas at the same time. If it is nice out opt for the porch if you can.

Been an avid customer for years but will not be going back. Have been a visitor on the island for 22 years and every year we have come to the restaurant with a party of 10-15 knowing that we have to wait a few hours and they ve always made it happen. This year we came in and they were beyond rude, aggressive and unwilling to help especially for what is supposed to be a nice restaurant. We tried to be accommodating willing to split up our party, willing to wait as long as needed. They turned us away in the most unprofessional manner without any attempt to even look at their seating plan. After working at a restaurant for years I was well aware that this is not how seating works, especially when you have a party willing to make things work because they clearly want to eat there. Long story short I am a firm believer in customer service, especially at nice restaurants where you are about to spend $$$$ and this restaurant no longer has that and these actions speak for the restaurant as a whole.

Spending a day on the island for work, I asked around for a food recommendation. This is where I was told to go. High praises, great food and atmosphere. Perfect.
The experience started off fine. Views of the neighboring yacht club were pleasant though not what I was expecting based on descriptions. The appetizers came with relative haste and were overall very good, though, I'm starting to believe that is because I was quite hungry from my journey.
Then came the dark times. A half hour with no visit from the waiter and no signs of my main course, black truffle lobster mac and cheese.
Finally, contact, the food would arrive in a few minutes. What feels like an eternity passes. I check my phone, it's been another 20 minutes.
A few more minutes tick by and a man who I presume to be the manager approaches with a halfhearted apology for the wait and assures me the food would be ready soon. Shortly after the waiter stops by with an excuse that the mac and cheese takes a while. It's now been an hour since the empty appetizer plates were removed from the table, and all hope of exploring the town before catching my boat back to the mainland were nixed.
A surge of joy fills me. I see my dish being carried toward the table. With more apologies I'm handed the meal. Though my joy quickly turns to dismay as I'm only left with about 15 minutes to eat my food and pay before rushing back to the dock.
Disappointment. Where is the lobster? The black truffles? In total there was maybe two arms worth of lobster in the shallow bowl. No sign of the tail, arguably the best part of the crustacean. If there was truffle, it was microscopic and lost in the bland cheese liquid and overwhelming amount of bread crumbs, more bread crumbs than would be needed for a half dozen or more of this dish.
With no time to complain, and knowing this would be my last chance for a remotely decent meal on my 5 hour trek home, I ate as much as I could, which was only about half before the underwhelming flavor and overabundance of the crumbs got to me.
Despite all of that, I'm giving Atlantic 2 stars because I did genuinely enjoy the raw oysters and sauteed mussel appetizers at the time. However, needless to say, on my next trip to the island, I won't be coming back to Atlantic and will likely just go to some seafood shack somewhere.

We celebrated a birthday here on our last trip to MV. We ordered the lobster pot pie and it was good, but not what we anticipated. When I think New England pot pie I'm assuming a hearty meal of veggies, lobster meat, creamy sauce, and a flaky pastry crust. What we got was a meal where they were primarily concerned about the presentation and appearance versus the qualify. Yes, the meal was good, but should have just been called "Lobster in a copper pot with a few peas, 1 carrot, and tiny slivers of pastry crust". For $70 I'd rather go to a seafood shanty in Chilmark and order 3 whole lobsters with a Q clam.

That unfortunate let-down aside, the rest of the meal was delicious, especially the desserts! Service was fantastic as expected, and the environment was welcoming as well. It's definitely a great place to hang out for a few hours, pre-dinner drinks, dinner, dessert, and then after dinner drinks. I never fail to make new friends while dining there so make sure you talk to those around you! Plus it's on the water so the summer season is great for people-watching.

For such a beautiful setting, it was a shame to be so disappointed. I was given two TINY pieces of swordfish put together to look like one. Sent it back, but everyone was done eating when i got the new piece. The lamb chop was over cooked as was another guests swordfish. The truffle fries were stone cold and hard. It was tough to pay the bill when the meal was so bad and grossly over priced. Very disappointed. Won't go there again. Too many better restaurants on island.

The food here is unbelievably good and it's located right on the water! Great views, great drinks, and even better food. The lobster truffle mac & cheese still makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

This restaurant refused to seat a person and their family because they had a service dog with them, and the manager reacted rudely when the customer tried to give them information about service dogs and the ADA. Consider giving your patronage to an establishment that doesn t discrimate against those with disabilities.

It is one of only a few places the over 30 crowd can go so they do well here. This maybe the most expensive place on the island to drink and eat. It is not worth the price but we pay it because there are few other choices.

With dietary restrictions. Didnt ask whether we wanted outside dining or not and was quite cold outside. Way overpriced, $18 for 3 shrimp
Cocktail. The food quality was not commensurate with price at all. Wasnt the worst place in the world but i

Ive been here before, 2 years ago, and had a wonderful time. Visited again this July, of course its 2020 and things everywhere are crazy... but so I ordered oysters and the watermelon feta salad. I could not eat either. The oysters were smelly and not fresh and plump - I had had some at another restaurant a few days earlier, the same kind, and they were fresh and delicious. The water melon was slimy, and the salad greens and feta cheese were room temperature. I dont know what to say, other than I left without eating much. Which I have never done before, at a restaurant. I had been looking forward to visiting the restaurant for months, and was so very sad to have this experience. Maybe it was just a fluke, which I hope.

The host/ Manager was extremely rude to us. We went on a Monday night a little after 8 to see if we could get dessert/ espresso martinis at a table that overlooked the fishing derby entries. There were tables available and given, the restaurant fully closed at 9, we wouldn t have had time for a full meal. The manager asked if we were eating a full meal, and I said no we are looking for dessert/ drinks and he started to walk away from me and pointed to a Public wooden bench. He said: you can sit on that bench and watch, we only serve people if you get a full meal. The current rule in Ma is you must order food that has to be prepared by the restaurant; which dessert suffices. To turn away customers when restaurants are killing themselves to stay open right now is absurd. My family spends thousands of dollars at the Atlantic each year and for this, we have decided to go elsewhere. Shame on you.

Stunningly good food. The Lobster Copper Pot Pie was a revelation. It was big enough for two people and the two pounds of lobster was the best I've ever had. How do you improve on fresh Lobster? Cook it in lobster bisque with the rest of the pot pie ingredients. Don't pass it up! We also loved the location and service. Wonderful place to go when you're ready to have a fancy night out on the town.

What an amazing birthday dinner I had last night at the Atlantic. Eli and his staff could not have been more gracious and attentive. The food and views were spectacular. Thank you for making my birthday so wonderful! We will be back soon.

I ve never been so offended and demoralized in my life than by the manager at this establishment. On two occasions the manager walked up to me, and my friend, and threatened us by standing at a high table he wanted to move for dining patrons. It was so offensive i immediately left because I thought he was going to get physical towards my friend. I would never have a man speak to a woman the way he did. Do not support an establishment like this.

This restaurant discriminates against individuals with disabilities. Refused to seat my family because we have a service dog with us. Tried to educate the manager about service animal laws and he was extremely rude and refused to listen. I strongly recommend you dine elsewhere when visiting Martha s Vineyard.

I flew the boss into the Vineyard to show him and his wife the beauty of the island and the local hot spots. Unfortunately, our experience at The Atlantic was terrible. At 2:30pm (off-peak) our party of four was denied an open table on the patio because it was a table for six. The restaurant was mostly empty, so we asked if they had a reservation or something; nope. When we were denied seating outside altogether on a gorgeous day, we said we would just leave then. The hostess said that would be fine. We were stunned.

Purchased a dress while on my way to dine at Atlantic Fish. We were given a table outside-too dark to see the menu but after a very over priced, mediocre meal we made our way inside to listen to the band. I then realized I had left my new dress under the table. I was told by my server it was at the front with the hostess. Well after the buck passing and rude treatment by the manager, I was basically told "to bad", your dress is not here. Pass this restaurant-there are too many other good ones in town. But if you choose to eat here--hold on to your belongings!

Best food in Edgartown.

Best food in Edgartown.

My girlfriend and I visited this establishment based off of a friend's recommendation, and we were very happy that we did. It was my girlfriend's birthday and we wanted to have an enjoyable experience.

The host was well spoken and helpful; he allowed us to choose our own table, and we picked a lovely spot in front of the window overlooking the docks.

The calamari was fresh and cooked perfectly, which is a rarity in many restaurants. It was also plentiful and we almost filled our bellies with just the appetizer.

Next we recieved our entrees, a beet salad and the classic burger. I am not much of a meat eater these days, but this was hands down the best burger I have ever had. Period. Seasoned perfectly and cooked to temp, another hard find in the service industry. It came with shoestring fries and a choice of toppings.

The beet salad was plated beautifully, and although I did not try it, my better half was very impressed.

We were ready to leave when the server, unprompted, brought a beautiful desert to our table, with a lit birthday candle. We were pleasantly surprised, and even more thrilled at the taste of this delicious treat.

It was some sort of blueberry cheesecake, which I believe was made with mascarpone, and came with a dollop of sorbet. We were stuffed from dinner, but could not stop eating it until it was gone.

This was the highlight of our trip, as far as food goes, and we would highly reccomend this place to any and all whom appreciate quality service and exceptional food.

Our server was the best as well, he never let our drinks get empty and tended to every single request with haste and professionalism. We could not have asked for a better experience, he went above and beyond to make sure our visit was as pleasant as can be.

I am a chef myself, and I am always happy to try new places, although admittedly I am a tough critic when it comes to food and service. I have not one single complaint; this has been one of the best dining visits I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing.

Thank you to all who worked hard to make our dinner enjoyable! If you're reading this trying to decide whether or not to go here to eat, stop thinking and go! You will not regret it.
