Good ppl here.. I'm grateful... but moving after the required time you Have to stay in a unit or house is Not fair.... you should be able to move after 3 yrs!!! I want put of these apartments but its like you are Forced to stay in horrible neighborhoods, apartments. Not everyone is tearing up making it bad for the Ones who know how to live like humans!! Some of us deserve to live in better Housing and Areas!!!! And why would we lose our vouchers do to Slumlords and Not the tenant??

They Come Up With Any Excuse Not To Help Nobody. The Counselors They Provide You With Doesn't Want To Help Nobody. It's Shame Cause This Is My First Time Being On Section 8 And Don't Nobody Wants To Help. I'm At A Point Where I Will Give My Vouchers Up

Horrible place. I've passed every inspection I've ever had through section 8. Yet every time that my slumlord failed they gave him his grace period to fix the problems which is fine and all but he never fixed the problems and atlanta housing just gave up and paid him but wouldn't move me and my family to a safer/ non hazardous house. Im off section 8 now. But never again will i ever be part of anything in atlanta or section 8! Atlanta housing is a Great place for slumlords to get easy money but put very little effort in order to get it. Let every see and be warned!

When ever you re dealing with a issue with any housing authority call the board of commissioner/ board of supervisors of Atlanta and report your issue with housing. The board of commissioners are over every county building whether it s section 8 or welfare. These people can get in trouble for not doing their job. Report them and they will contact the housing authority and investigate your issues.

if you are "Port In" or, if you don't have close ties with someone working at this agency, you'll just waste time and energy dealing with these losers. it took me 60 days to figure this out. That's all the time they give you to find an apartment. Nearly all of the housing properties, under their jurisdiction, are located in slum areas not fit for even a rabid dog to live. They do have really unbelievably nice properties in Buckhead. However, those are reserved for family members, friends and highest bidders. I dealt with this agency in 2015 to no avail I lost my voucher because of their gross negligence and scheming business practices. Do yourself a favor and go to another housing agency or, just stay where you are. Atlanta is very perverted and on the brink of self destruction.

The employees attitude is horrible towards their clients talk to people always in a rude manner I will send a email over to the mayor and let her address the issue when you ask them for the manager email they hang up the phone in your face just rude very disrespectful employees at Atlanta housing authority

If I could give them a 0 I would IF YOU HAVE A VOUCHER & WANT TO KEEP IT DONT BRING IT TO FULTON COUNTY OR THE CITY OF ATLANTA!! BEWARE YOU WILL SURELY LOSE IT. Nobody in the Fulton or Atlanta area is taking them & they KNOW THAT & YOU WILL GET NO HELP FOR REAL.

I Came From Out Of Town Because My Name Was Pulled They Gave Me 2wks To Find An Job Now Don't Get Me Wrong I Enjoy Working But The Way There Running There System Is Wrong. In Order To Get An Voucher I Have To Have An Job In Atlanta And I Have Wait Additional 30 Days Now Remind You I Have Four Kids I Guess I Just Supposed To Pull Them Out Of School In Come Here With No Where To Go So My Thing Why Didn't They Only Open It For Atlanta This Is Wrong In Sad I Spent 235 For An Ticket To Be Treated Like Garbage I Wasted My Time It Doesn't Make Since They Should Let You Know If Your Eligible In Then Give You 30 Days At Least This Is Wrong Something To Stop Black People From Getting An Head

THE HOUSING AUTHORITY IS JUST A WAIST OF TIME, YOU HAVE PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN ON THE WAITING LIST FOR ALMOST 20 YEARS LIKE ME I HAVE BEEN ON THE WAITING LIST SINCE I WAS 19 NOW I AM 35 WHEN I CALL OR GO DOWN THERE TO JUST CHECK WHERE I STAND ON THE WAITING LIST IM STILL NUMBER 9009, THAT REALLY SUCKS, BUT I BET YOU THAT ALL THEM PEOPLE DOWN THERE HAVE THERE FAMILY AND FRIENDS ON THE SECTION 8, I BET YOU THAT ALL OF THEM HAVE VOUCHERS, WHAT ABOUT THE PEOPLE THAT BEEN ON THERE, I KNOW I QUALIFIED FOR IT AND TILL THIS DAY IM STILL THAT SAME NUMBER 9009 SOMETHINGS REALLY GOING ON IN THE SYSTEM DOWN THERE, I HAVE HAD PLENTY OF JOBS, THEY STILL HIT ME WITH THE SAME LINE YOU ARE ON THE WAITING LIST MY DEAR, JUST CAN'T BELIEVE THAT SINCE 19 IM STILL AT 9009, UNBELIEVABLE.

I'm trying to move here from Texas...mmmm my worker has completed everything except my employment verification I am transferring my job from Texas to Atlanta she has given me a briefing date and has not even verified my employment do she realize I don't live in Atlanta I'm traveling from Texas it cost money to come back and forth I've already made one trip to Atlanta late February now you want me to come back again late March without even telling me everything has been done as far as paperwork goes and trying to get them on the phone you can forget it leaving messages she never return my call they really need to understand without customers like us they would have no employment so they need to stop turning their nose up at people when they come through the door and try to help them because that is what they're there for so they need to really do the job forgive me the Mis punctuation si. comma,periods run on sentences but I am really to p*** off right now

Great program with fascinating history. Everyone at AHA was extremely helpful and nice. Sign up process took a little longer than expected (about 45 days start to finish) but this is understandable because they need to complete required paperwork to help prevent fraud.

I have a state to state 3 bedroom voucher in va. Trying to relocate before Christmas to Ga.

They have been there for me for many years. Without them I would be homeless. God is Good all the time!

I didn't meet tfg proposed obligation sex scam ' to stay on the program so they found lagit way of putting you on the streets .

A very good group of people today. They work hard to serve both the landlord and tenant. I've been working with them since 2000 and it seems like they get better every year. No governmental agency is perfect but this group does try hard.

There so Dam DISFUNCTIONAL NOBODY IS ON THE SAME PAGE, I MOVED IN MY APT LAST SEPTEMBER RULES WERE ONE YR IN AHA HOUSING THEN YOU CAN RELOCATE OUTSIDE OF STATE ANYWHERE THAT OFFER SECT.8 I WAS ALL SET TO MOVE THIS YR IN SEPT. THEY TOLD ME IT'S 2YRS NOW YOU HAVE TO WAIT NOBODY SENT ME A LETTER OR TOLD ME ANYTHING MY CASE WORKER SAID 1YR WHEN I CALLED &TOLD ME TO COME IN AND FILL OUT REQUEST TO MOVE FORM THEN I CALLED THE MAIN OFFICE LINE THEY SAID 2YRS THEN I CALLED MY CASE WORKER BACK AGAIN SHE SAID 1yr So I went in to FILL out 90day REQUEST TO MOVE FORM The STAFF AT FRONT DESK SAID 2YRS I DIDN'T ARGUE OR DISAGREE .THEN MY CASE WORKER INFORMED ME YOU CAN MOVE IT WAS TO LATE THE APT. HAD BEEN TAKEN WERE I WAS GONNA MOVE TO I HATE DISFUNCTIONAL PPL THEY ALL REALLY NEED TO SIT DOWN AND HAVE A LONG TALK THEY DON'T INFORM YOU OF CHANGES THEY MAKE I NEVER GOT THE MEMO SO I'M STUCK HERE ANOTHER YR

Should've known this would happen once they torn their housing projects down more than 20 years ago. Homelessness and a corrupted housing authority pandering to landlords. People vote and stop sucking up to politicans who don't care about the little man. Racism comes in all forms and black people have went through so much struggle in this country to not need a helping hand up

Parking is limited, I applied awhile ago and they couldn't find me in the system. Waiting lists aren't expected to open for another few years. I'm an Atlanta native and want out of Georgia. There's no relief for low income locals who have little to no resources and constantly work more than one job.

Been in Atlanta 7 year's came from Boston single mom of two been Tru domestic violence been trying to get this program and always get close doors nothing bad on my record and I also have a income still share apt w roommate cause I can't afford it alone been thinking about moving out Atlanta cause living here is guetting too hard to keep a roof on ur Kidz I have this in Massachusetts in less then 2 month and here it been years I haven't even be hable to do the pre-approval God bless all the single mom trying hard.

Security offers more than just walking out on the homeless third safety net

I m am a single mother of 5. I found a unit that in a few weeks was in poor condition. The power kept shutting off. I had to keep turning power on from the outside of the unit to keep my kids and I warm. I informed AHA but they did not inspect because the owner wanted me out in 60 days after 2 months of finding somewhere in a timely matter they they found little with the house and failed it and told me my time was up and that I am terminated from the programs. So now my kids and I are now homeless.
