Club house has great cafe too. Lots of dairy free available and reasonably priced.

Had a gliding experience bought for me by my wife as a birthday present. What a wonderful experience it was. I am mad about flying and indeed anything to do with aircraft, so this was a dream come true. I have known this airfield all of my life as it is just on my doorstep and it has always held a fascination for me.
It was once home to Dan Air Engineering, who used todo all of the maintenance and overhauls on Dan Airs fleet of aircraft. Such a shame the company folded in the 90 s after some tough competition in the airline industry.
Maintenance of large commercial aircraft, mainly Boeing 737 and 757 is still carried out at this facility and is operated by 2 Xcel Aviation.
There are also 2 Boeing 727 s based here, which have been converted for rapid dispatch oil spill dispersal. They have internal detergent tanks and have been fitted with spray bars, to spray onto any oil spills, to aid dispersal.
