It is an archive of family and amateur films. The members of the association that manage it collect family film collections from all over Italy. Their goal is to preserve, restore (physically with film restoration operations, digitalizing in addition every film delivered) and make documentary materials available that would otherwise be lost forever in the cellars, in the attics of those who inherited these precious memories in film, which today they find few spaces and expertise able to reactivate their memory. This is why it is possible to donate and study these materials in the archive.
I point out that every year, between November and December, the association organizes a series of events open to the public (the whole program takes the name, precisely, of "Archivio Aperto") to make known the work of those who deal with it , some funds and future prospects for analysis of amateur films donated to the archive through screenings, installations, workshops and meetings with other members of the sector.
Therefore those who had family films available, here can give new life to the images and history of their own family memory.
