A place to visit because it is unique

A place to visit because it is unique
The guided tour is obviously focused on botany and goes from one geographic region to another
She also explains the history of this garden
If you are not a botany lover, you will enjoy the landscapes and take some pretty pictures
Do not expect a French garden, here the natural and original landscape is sought after
We really have the impression that the human hand is missing ...
The ride is superb
One caveat, however: the price of entry and consumption inside the park.

Good for a pleasant walk of a few hours between exotic flora. A visit in spring, when there are many flowering plants, is much more rewarding than in September, when many plants are not at their best after the summer drought. The entrance fee of 11 is then on the high side.

Very nice place to spend half a day (beware of mosquitoes anyway). The bookstore is a marvel for lovers of books, nature and science). Perfect for children 8-12 years old with a discovery course.

For real plant lovers is well worth seeing, for all others with 12.50 entry just fine. There is a nice map, on which you can see the trails (about 2 km) and read about the plant species. In the middle of the park is a sweet coffee and there is a enclosure with three donkeys. From some places you have a beautiful view of the sea, but otherwise the garden is quite wild and very natural. Which is nice, but I would have expected a little more attention to detail and therefore prefer to hike and look at only a part of the plant world.

Always a delight this ride

Always a delight this ride
Today is not customary for us because we followed a guide.
I find it still boring but the guides of the domain are exceptional
Prefer the walk in the morning for freshness, avoid mosquitoes and finish at the restaurant of the estate in the shade and offers very good products

Very expensive (12,00 ) for any garden. Plants seen everywhere. No explanation about the plants, not even their name. The plants are grouped by region of the world. Ok but the limits are blurry. What characterizes this region compared to others? Mystery. Nothing is said. No suggested route. A signage wave (numbers) on the site but which are not included on the map given at the entrance. The only good thing is the beautiful sea view. Really good value for so little. If the parking is free, there are not enough places. We had to park at the entrance to the bike path.

Worth to be seen at another time of the year because currently (end of summer) the blooms being finished there is not much to see, except leaves. In the spring, it must be much more beautiful.
12 per person for what we saw today is very expensive but probably more justified at other times of the year.

Hello a royal visit from start to finish. A very warm welcome, a very pleasant and competent tour leader that is a pleasure. Plan a day's visit if the landscape of each Mediterranean country takes you on a world tour. The views of the sea are magnificent and you participate in the functioning of an association that defends the Mediterranean landscape and the plants that constitute it.

Super nice walk in a beautiful garden, a forest with splendid views of the Mediterranean all made by an association to see without fail. In addition there is a small restaurant of fresh products where to eat a small ice cream.

It must be much more beautiful in winter and spring! A little disappointed by the lack of flowers and the few exuberant plants as we can see in South Africa.
Superb view, shame not to be able to visit at least one property. The whole is full of charm.

Lack of bar where you can quietly enjoy a drink, the guide brings you under a scorching heat at 12 noon in front of the only restaurant where you are only allowed to drink from 2:30 p.m. to the limit !! Impossible either to sit down anywhere in the domain, so we leave at noon without having been able to individually finish the visit of the place. IT'S NULL IN ANY CASE I WOULD GO BACK !!!

For lovers of "true" nature ... It is absolutely necessary to do 1 tour. The guide is absolutely fabulous. Facing the sea, under the freshness of the trees, the heat of mid-September becomes pleasant. THANK YOU

Beautiful walk in nature, quiet even in August and with magnificent views. Only (small) regret: we can not access the beach that borders the garden. But it does not deserve to remove a star so the garden is beautiful. Little more for the restaurant all natural and with a superb view.

Nice garden with guided tours to learn more about the plants of the region. Very well maintained. Passionate staff who transmit the taste of nature and the preservation of the ecosystem. Special booklets are provided for children. The garden changes during the seasons which it is nice to return at different times of the year to see the landscape evolve.

Spend a beautiful afternoon walking through this garden that will make you travel ... Do not hesitate to follow the guided tour very informative.
Only black spot, parking. A tip, do not follow the signs that guide you to the site .... stop a little higher than the tourist office, Avenue Mistral.
From here a majestic staircase will take you to the gardens.

Beautiful wooded area. An easy access path but also small paths, steps to visit while abandoning yourself to nature, to the various scents, to the sea air listening to nature. Pretty log benches all along the course allow you to sit and contemplate. The path descends until it overlooks the sea.
Really relaxing.
We did it at the end of October on a sunny day.
A "small farm" in the course allows you to eat which is very pleasant.
Come and discover for yourself by taking the time because you have to let go

Sublime garden. It is more beautiful to see in the spring period, because in summer the plants are drier. The guided tour is fascinating, and teaches us a lot about the ecology of the Mediterranean garden.
The garden is huge, a large PRM path is arranged for strollers and wheelchairs.
Lots of things to discover in this garden designed by Gilles Clement. You won't regret the entrance fee.

We recommend visiting the estate. It's a great immersion in a natural environment that also allows us to travel. The guides open the desire to browse and discover all the riches of the site. To do and remake absolutely.

About Association Domaine du Rayol

Association Domaine du Rayol: A Natural Paradise in the Heart of Var

Welcome to Association Domaine du Rayol, a natural paradise located in the heart of Var, France. This 20-hectare garden and natural space is situated facing the beautiful islands of Hyères, between Le Lavandou and Saint-Tropez. The association was founded with a mission to preserve and promote Mediterranean biodiversity through education, research, and conservation.

The Domaine du Rayol is a unique place where visitors can discover the beauty of nature while learning about its importance for our planet's future. The garden features over 2,500 plant species from around the world that are adapted to Mediterranean climates. Visitors can explore different landscapes such as coastal areas, maquis shrublands, cork oak forests or even tropical gardens.

The association offers various activities throughout the year for all ages such as guided tours led by expert botanists who share their knowledge about plants' ecology and history. There are also workshops on gardening techniques or cooking with local products from Provence.

One of the most popular events at Domaine du Rayol is "Les Journées des Plantes," an annual plant festival that attracts thousands of visitors from all over Europe. During this event, visitors can meet with horticulturists and nursery owners who showcase their latest creations.

In addition to its educational mission, Association Domaine du Rayol also plays an essential role in preserving endangered species through research programs conducted on-site by scientists from around the world. These programs aim to better understand how plants adapt to changing environments caused by climate change or human activities.

The association's commitment to sustainability goes beyond its scientific work; it also extends into daily operations at Domaine du Rayol itself. For example, they use renewable energy sources like solar panels or wind turbines for electricity production while reducing water consumption through rainwater harvesting systems.

Association Domaine du Rayol has received numerous awards recognizing its efforts towards environmental protection and sustainable development practices such as "Green Key" certification awarded by Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).

In conclusion, Association Domaine du Rayol is not just a beautiful garden but also an educational center dedicated to promoting biodiversity conservation worldwide while inspiring people about nature's beauty and importance for our planet's future generations. Whether you're interested in botany or simply looking for a peaceful retreat surrounded by stunning scenery - this place has something special waiting just for you!
