Historical gardens, which allow you to imagine you...

Historical gardens, which allow you to imagine yourself being in another part of the world. Plants have been grouped into territorial regions and the absence of signs and posters make it seem perfectly natural.

The staff have been very helpful in identifying unknown plants.

If you've fallen in love with some of the rare species, you can take them home for a moderate sum. Instructions for care can be downloaded from the web.

There is a choice of even and well surfaced paths for prams or wheelchairs and small partially covered flights of stairs that allow you to discover the hidden secrets.

Gardens not watered for ecological reasons surely, you will arrive in an arid environment where all the plants are burnt. The 12 euros of access are really not up to the experience. Natural experiment failed. In addition, no indication on the name of the plants, we learn nothing. There is only one central explanation, so we must remember the numbers of the plants ... there are free public gardens much more beautiful ...

In an exceptional setting by the sea a variety of incredible Mediterranean plants with thoughtful environmental and sustainable management. Very educational visit and a walk on the trails of the park very pleasant.

Sincerely, terribly disappointing. How can we put 5 stars in a dilapidated place and without much interest. Fortunately 2 beautiful views of the sea and some pretty plants ... but 12 for this is really making fun of the world! Do a real hike in the Mediterranean landscapes around you and for free.

Nice historic garden. Admission 12 per person. The terrain is very large with a large variety of plants and trees. There are also some historic buildings on the site. An accompanying brochure is available at the entrance, in several languages, explaining the garden and buildings. Nice to see, during the walk beautiful view points over the Mediterranean Sea. Here and there, the garden makes a neglected impression, clutter on the paths. Trees and plants are not pruned, leaving dead leaves or lying on the ground. The buildings also look neglected, by painting the window frames everything would be very well done.
Still worth a visit if you are in the area.

Very disapointed...

Very disapointed...
First of all I regret the price of the entry compared to the numbers of very succinct explanations ... Whether it is the explanations at the entry as well as on the domain.
It is very easy to cash without taking the time to inform that guided tours are taking place inside. The card should be given systematically with the entry ticket ...
You will obviously say that for the explanatory panels this distorts the natural side of the park .... Blablabla ...
Yes finally at the price of the entry, I believe I have the right to learn a little more about the essences that my little eyes perceive ... Even if only the name!
Because for a stroll in the middle of nature, the region is full of these trail jewels.
I therefore do not recommend your park which is in my opinion a catch cat!
In addition you do not respect your concept ... what do Mediterranean species in Australia, New Zealand, Africa etc ...
Explanations would therefore be necessary in order not to make amalgam ...

Magnificent and fascinating by taking the audio guide.
On the other hand, a couple of the staff installed at the little house on the beach made us extremely uncomfortable when we still had a good quarter of an hour before closing. These sad people paid by the state funds was reading, we disturbed the poor darlings.
So do it again in the spring, with the less cons, who dare everything, that's even what we recognize.

Since there are only a few parking spaces available, we parked up on the main street and then walked down. Was a very nice walk. Unfortunately, the information that was decisive for us was not at the top of the many signs: DOGS ARE GENERALLY FORBIDDEN.

For all other visitors: 11 entry per person. As of April18

Very pretty garden even if in September it is not necessarily the best season to visit it. However, as they are plants from extreme regions, there is always a curiosity to see these. And the walk is worth it anyway More

Wonderful garden bought by the conservatory of the littoral. Different atmospheres depending on the place where you are which take you around the Mediterranean, in Asia, in Australia, New Zealand. An ideal circulation according to the "form" of each one .
: flat paths or stairs. Many species and the possibility of having lunch or having a "pot" on site. Not to be missed for garden lovers.

A very nice area to visit where there is not too much influence even in the middle of August. For those who were born in 1989, visit and free!
We can then swim outside the area 5min walk.
You have to do a guided tour which is free, the guide was very interesting, it gives a good overview of the history of the estate and plants.
This is not a botanical garden be careful but it is very pretty!

Very nice. When we enter the domain, we are out of time. Indeed, the old houses and the plantations seize us and we feel well the important work of the gardeners and the former owners which made it possible to arrive at this magnificent result. To visit taking your time, 2 hours is good.

A great facility. There are devices with which one is informed in German without a guide about the location. Absolutely worth a visit. However, the visit will be the most beautiful in spring and autumn winter.

This garden was a favorite for me.

This garden was a favorite for me.
Located in the heights of Rayol this green garden gives access to breathtaking views of the azure coast.
As for the garden it is rather well maintained considering the size of the garden and allows to discover the flora of several regions of the world or climates.
Ps: I also want to acknowledge the financial efforts made by many actors to restore the heritage present in the garden.

Superb garden on the hillside and by the sea. All the places in the world with a Mediterranean climate are represented. The plants are beautiful and some, rare in France, are beautiful sizes. The park, mostly dry, gives a false impression of non-maintenance, but this is not the case. The guided tour is a must, the guides explaining well without being "taken in the head". For the rest of the visit, the plan is mandatory so as not to miss a corner of this large garden. Be careful like any garden in the south, some areas are infested with mosquitoes, so provide repellent so as not to spoil the visit. The sea view is breathtaking. Special mention to the valley, the only humid place, and its tree ferns.

About Association Domaine du Rayol

Association Domaine du Rayol: A Natural Paradise in the Heart of Var

Welcome to Association Domaine du Rayol, a natural paradise located in the heart of Var, France. This 20-hectare garden and natural space is situated facing the beautiful islands of Hyères, between Le Lavandou and Saint-Tropez. The association was founded with a mission to preserve and promote Mediterranean biodiversity through education, research, and conservation.

The Domaine du Rayol is a unique place where visitors can discover the beauty of nature while learning about its importance for our planet's future. The garden features over 2,500 plant species from around the world that are adapted to Mediterranean climates. Visitors can explore different landscapes such as coastal areas, maquis shrublands, cork oak forests or even tropical gardens.

The association offers various activities throughout the year for all ages such as guided tours led by expert botanists who share their knowledge about plants' ecology and history. There are also workshops on gardening techniques or cooking with local products from Provence.

One of the most popular events at Domaine du Rayol is "Les Journées des Plantes," an annual plant festival that attracts thousands of visitors from all over Europe. During this event, visitors can meet with horticulturists and nursery owners who showcase their latest creations.

In addition to its educational mission, Association Domaine du Rayol also plays an essential role in preserving endangered species through research programs conducted on-site by scientists from around the world. These programs aim to better understand how plants adapt to changing environments caused by climate change or human activities.

The association's commitment to sustainability goes beyond its scientific work; it also extends into daily operations at Domaine du Rayol itself. For example, they use renewable energy sources like solar panels or wind turbines for electricity production while reducing water consumption through rainwater harvesting systems.

Association Domaine du Rayol has received numerous awards recognizing its efforts towards environmental protection and sustainable development practices such as "Green Key" certification awarded by Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).

In conclusion, Association Domaine du Rayol is not just a beautiful garden but also an educational center dedicated to promoting biodiversity conservation worldwide while inspiring people about nature's beauty and importance for our planet's future generations. Whether you're interested in botany or simply looking for a peaceful retreat surrounded by stunning scenery - this place has something special waiting just for you!
