I have been going here for walks and leisurely strolls for at least 25yrs. The grounds are beautifully kept. The garden association does the gardens inside the brick wall. The flowers are stunning!! You can pay to have wedding photos done or graduation photos. You can take a tour of The Henry Clay home. Theres a small cafe with all kinds of delicious choices. Theres always some sculptures or statues being displayed. I prefer to walk and hang out in the garden!! I take my kids all ages from stroller to adult, my kids are ages 8 to 19......

Enjoyed the walk around the house. Ofcourse residence was closed. But folks we have to enjoy what we can right now. And we enjoyed those massive trees. We dont let trees grow much anymore. Always pruning and trimming and cutting. Trying to be in control of everything. Thank goodness Mr Clay wasn't like that with his trees. Just beautiful and reminded you of the value of a grand old shade tree.

Thanks to Hurricane Florence we had to replant a wedding in a few days and the estate is where we landed. Besides the Kentucky humidity, it was a great choice. Beautiful setting, accommodating staff, and a Great wedding for my little girl!!

A great place to visit if you are into early American history. The staff at the Estate are very friendly and able to answer nearly all questions you ask them regarding Mr. Clay. My only complaint is not being able to take photographs while on the tour of the house, otherwise a great experience.

I have been wanting to visit Ashland since high school us history class. My teacher loved Henry Clay and we grew up learning to admire him. It was one of the prettiest places. If you go early before opening it is quiet and you have the whole park to yourself. On my next visit I want to be sure to go during open hours to tour inside. Peaceful spot for breakfast in the park.

Great place to walk the grounds or attend a scheduled tour. House is open to prearranged visitors in limited size group. Several tours available including one focused on slavery and on women.

Ashland, Henry Clay Estate: A Historic Landmark Dedicated to Educating the Public about the Life and Legacy of Henry Clay

Ashland, Henry Clay Estate is a historic landmark located in Lexington, Kentucky. The estate was once home to one of America's most prominent statesmen and orators, Henry Clay. Today, it serves as a museum dedicated to educating the public about his life and legacy.

Henry Clay was born in Virginia in 1777 and moved to Kentucky at the age of 20. He quickly became involved in politics and served as a U.S. Senator from Kentucky for over 30 years.
