I give this place one star. We attempted to have our loved one placed here however the admissions person Monique wouldn t and still hasn t returned our call. The lack of professionalism and follow up is ridiculous.

Please do not send your loved ones here. This is the nastiest facility I have ever worked in. Poor lighting, patients aren t bathed or groomed, being left in their soiled pull ups all day. No hand soap in any of the dispensers, dirty beds. Not to mention the nurses are horrible here. This place needs to be shut down and revamped completely.
I have been a employee for Ashland almost 4 yrs first experience of being a Certfied Nursing Assistant I truly love working with my resident ive learned alot from just working with them just. Seeing their smiles and laughing with them and caring for them makes my day
Family member was placed in facility for rehab when entering no one was there to open door when entering the facility and it smelled of strong urine looks as if the facility is under staff along with unfinished construction done to the walls.Facility is not clean at all. I will be reporting this first thing in the morning along with removing family member from facility. No one should place their love one in a facility this nasty/trashy the state needs to shut this facility down ASAP.
I have worked at the Ashland Nursing home going on 11 years.. I truly love my job, this nursing home and of course our residents.. This nursing home is full of caring, passionate staff..We go above and beyond our daily task.. Putting our residents first, keeping them happy, healthy, and smiles on their faces.. Im here for a lifetime...
On behave of the Prude family, we like thank Ashland Staffing for taking great care of our father, felt safe, and at home, from bottom of our hearts thank you Ashland Nursing and Rehab.
My mother has been here for a year now. I cannot say all the great things that are happening in this nursing home. I am very happy with my mother here and she is very happy. The staff are great and everyone has been so good to her.
< 1 rating. Not pleased with the care/lack of care she has been given. Since she arrived I have bathe, dress and changed her bedding. Repeated calls asking they do these things and they say she refuses. All they have to say is I am here to get you bathe or etc. My family member is saying she is not refusing. You only ask once. I have been a nurse x 32 yrs and I would never treat a patient like that.
I have to come to this facility regularly for my job (I don t work for the nursing home). Ariel on unit 2 always has a smile and the unit two and three staff are so helpful. However the staff on unit 1 is so rude, unhelpful, and always have a nasty look on their faces. When i was looking for a place for my family member....the nurses of unit 1 are why I ran from Ashland. And the administrators don t seem to care! I know this has been reported many many times. I was thankful when i found a new job that doesn t require me to go to Ashland Nursing and Rehab as often as i used to! Even outside staff can influence future residents......unit 1 needs an overhual!!
My dad died last year. The Veterans Affairs said they would pay for his stay there. We are now just receiving bills. Something is wrong here. What do I do to make this go away???
I was there, recovering from back surgery. It was dirty, short staffed, got my night meds at 9:30-10pm at night and my room mate was an invalent and had to sit in her own filth for over an hour at times. Don't go there!
I've been an employee of Ashland nursing & rehab for 29 yrs. This is a great place to work and we give great care. I had my Mother admitted here for short term rehab and she loved the staff and the care she received.
My family member is there and I wish she wasn't. This nursing home is a mess, the Furniture looks like it came from the dump and I don't mean the furniture store dump. It smells like pee. Not a good place. Run from it.
I worked in Dietary for 2 years. I complained to my supervisor twice about an employee but my complaint was ignored. So the next day that same employee that i complained about went to the supervisor as well with a complaint. On my following work day , I was told that I was suspended until Corporate said otherwise. I didn't receive a right up or and explanation or why I was being suspended. So I went to a higher position because I was concern on why I was being treated as such. I was out of work for three weeks while this case was under investigation. Meanwhile the other employee is still on the schedule working as if my word meant nothing. I had to write several statements just to prove my case because of all the false allegations that were made against me. The employee that I complained on is not to fawn of colored people and have said multiple racist comments to different kitchen staff. She has never received a write up for her actions at all. When my case came to a close i was giving my job back and payed for the days i miss. They investigated that everything that was said was false. I was giving my job back but was not able to work at Ashland Nursing and Rehab anymore because the director of the facility and dietary supervisor did not want me in the building, so they transferred me to another facility. I was allowed back on the property like nothing happen. I went to visit my residents and some staff because I was being missed. I never went in the kitchen or any area i wasn't allowed. I never disturbed the peace or anything in that nature. I was just visiting. A few days after i visit , I get a call from my district manager telling my that i am permanently band off the property and if i am seen , the law has to be called. Shortly after that phone call i get a phone call from a employee of Ashland facility. They overheard the Director of the facility and the same supervisor talking about me and how the supervisor did not to want to look in my face. Also how the director do not like people from the LGBT Community. so they got me band from the property. I do not understand why i am being treated so bad and im not bothering nobody.
Clean facility and professional staff made my loved one's stay there exceptional. A big THANK YOU to the leadership team at Ashland Health and Rehab!!!
I've worked at ANRC going on 6 years, Starting with the dietary department then later as a sitter , gradually moving on to Activities Department. I can Honestly say, when it comes to treating your family member with Care, Respect and love this is the place to be! we are a Team, we laugh together, we cry together, I spend more time here than I do at home! so this is home away from home for me. Ashland we are Rock solid, The passion and love we have for our residents is what matters. Ashland nursing and rehab is where the heart is. come feel the beat!
My name is Letta Hall I have worked at Ashland since 2015 this facility has a warm and friendly staff our main concern is caring for our residents and giving them the upmost respect that they so well deserve. This facility is a clean environment. This facility cares about their staff and their residents.
If the option to give 0 stars I promise you i would!! This place is past disgusting and I d hate to leave a loved one behind in that place they want to call a nursing home . There is absolutely no reason why the establishment is still standing. The health department and whoever else required to shut that place down needs to be there like RIGHT NA! The residents go days without bathing and so much more. Something needs to be done and I m taking a stand in being the first to do so. They re scammers!!!
I want to update my review as Mrs. Beth Price, the director has done a phenomenal job in accommodating my father. I feel confident that my father will receive superb care under her leadership. I have faith that he will be given every opportunity afforded to him in his rehabilitation. Thank you again for being quick to address our concerns. I will diligently stay on top of everything to make sure this remains the case and there is progression.
Poor management and they don't care about residence. Please don't bring your loves one there. They lie about things and sweep thing under the rug. And State is friends with them to cover up things. Karma is coming back to all employees mistreat patients.
This is a horrible place. The environment is so very hostile! It s a shame that people think this is a good nursing home. The DON is a bully and the ADON just handles everybody s sneaky dirty work. They re always short leaving 3 aids on the floor to handle 22 residents a piece. It s so disheartening to think that people live in that facility. The head of HR is rude and disrespectful always messing up people s checks. The building is run down! Roach and ant infested! Whoever the owner is should be ashamed to even be attached to this building. It goes to show who really cares about the residents and who cares about the money BECAUSE CLEARLY THE OWNER HASN'T STEPPED IN THAT BUILDING AT ALL.
Well....Right now...they need more staff and new equipment the kitchen is old and the cafe is dirty and out dated...The front office try to work on taken care patients but they are not hands on like at night...The patients are in need of alot...their are staff who is very tired and run down with no help for them...i was their i seen staff ..it was only one nurse for whole section...the phones dont work...CNAS...mentally drain..i ask one lady about my love one ..she gave me a death look...meaning,,,,she was wore out short of staff tired and mad...my answer to that is get the staff nurse and CNAS more help....cause ill just quit instead of treated patients no caring atiitude...its sad...Patients looks dirty and can not recover,,,,thank you to nurse GEE GEE and Ms Adams all the way over wing 3..she walked all the way over to wing one to see about my wife.....I want my wife home we miss her and she said thank you to the staff for taken great care of her.....ASHLAND NEEDS MORE ATTENTION...MORE
I have to agree with the posts, other than from employees, that this is a disgusting, horrible place. I filed a formal, written complaint with the Commonwealth of Virginia after my mother was here. We moved her as quickly as possible and it took the state over a year to even reply to my complaint. They should be closed down.
Thanks to the help of Ms Beth Price and Ms Monique Crockett this I am willing to give this rehabilitation center another chance. Upon my arrival I Immediately began to check off the list of my prior concerns. There was a dramatic change from the receptionist new warm and informational greetings to an therapeutic progression plan being Implemented in the same evening. These ladies and the supporting staff have convinced me that this facility can provide proper care when influenced hopefully after round two my mother can finally be able to come home .
Ashland Convalescent Center Staff have taken actions on an native American /Vietnam veteran resident that has upset his family members .His wife went to visit her husband in their facility February 4 2015 and discovered his hair was cut to above his shoulders..... She said she was devastated to see her husband cry as he explained that his hair had been cut. I don t know (what happened,), His wife said. I came in to visit him and his pony tail was cut off. We have been married 32 years and he has had it as long as that. I asked him what happened, he said I don t know, and he started crying. He said they cut it off. ..............Later in a phone call a nurse told her he had asked to have it cut off. She was furious that his hair had been cut without informing her, as she has Power of Attorney for all matters involving her husband...... administrators at the facility claim they are sorry and that efforts will be made to accommodate patients
I was a resident there for 9 months last year. I rarely felt safe or properly cared for while there. There are people that do work very hard and are committed to what they do, but their efforts are undermined by those who are not so committed. I do not recommend sending your loved one there.
THE PEOPLE IN THE KITCHEN FIXED MY PROBLEMS WITH MY TRAY'S TODAY. I WANT TO SAY THANK U TO MY FAVORITE NURSE LETTA HALL SHE IS THE BEST NURSE EVER AND SHE IS SO FUNNY AND SHE TAKES CARE OF ALL OF US. AND SHE DESERVES A BIG AWARD AND THE CNA'S R GOOD TO ME. AND MRS BETH PRICE IS A NICE LADY
I have been an employee of this facility for approx 20 years. Our staff really care about the Residents that are in our care. We have a great rehabilitation department who really think outside of the box when needed to ensure optimal outcomes for our Residents. My family chose Ashland Nursing and Rehab when my parents were in need of short term skilled care, and both of my parents had good experiences and discharged home better off for their stay. I would be glad to recommend Ashland Nursing and Rehabilitation to anyone in need of short term skilled or long term care services.
If you want your family member to feel safe and cared for, DO NOT bring them to ACC. After only 24 hours we had my family member moved to another facility. Our disappointing and scary experience will never be forgotten. This is such a shame for the Town of Ashland to have one Rehab facility and it is so lacking basic skills, cleanliness, and a modern feel. And four patients to one bathroom is ridiculous. One star is being generous.
This nursing may look good on the outside but not so on the inside. The Ventilation is not good or it has none, but I guess thats normal for a nursing homes they all stink lIke a sewage tretention plant. The windows in my days room don't open or at least I can't get them open. My dad has not been outside in five years. I see no shady places where the residents can relax and some freash air. You would think freash air would be a constitutional right, but it's not. Yet keeping the residents contained is good, any half-whit would surly try to escape this hell. The furniture in my dad's room surely came from the dump. His aids are nice but who ever deals with medical stuff seem to be limited, since being in the facility he has had a blood infection for as long as I can remember. There are certain people he seem to be afraid of, but no will talk to me about it. After 5 years it's much better now that his mind is gone. So that being the case I could add a star but its a crime to warehouse people in places like this or nursing homes. My Dad is almost 100 % self pay. His Doctor got drunk and ran over a young woman while she was jogging one morning and killed her, after that I don't know if he ever got anouther. I am not the POA, so all I know is what I see. What I see is NOT GOOD, but the aids are very nice as are the cafeteria staff. The Ais deserve credit for being able to work there
Do not believe any of these reviews. The employs were told they would each get a gift card after writing a good review about this facility. It s horrible. And a animal shouldn t even be living in the conditions that these residents are living in. Some residents haven t bathed in months
