Went in when I almost cut off my thumb. The doctor did a great job stitching me up! It was a really great experience. If it had to happen, I'm glad it went down the way it did.
BUT...
I had to go back in because they were stingy with my pain medication. (I know we have a problem in the area, but 10 doses over the weekend is pretty skimpy...especially when the pain is keeping you up at night!) The doctor I was referred to couldn't get me in. When I went into immediate care they wanted me to fill out all the Workman's Comp paperwork again, so I just went back to the ER.
They kinda treated me like a druggy scumbag. They finally got to me after two and a half hours of waiting. Pretty much the first thing out of the doctor's mouth was "let's get that prescription filled for you!" Took a total of 15 mins to get me out of there after the doctor came in and spent 5 minutes with me.
I know I wasn't in a life threatening situation, but I was very uncomfortable for those two and a half hours. Feeling like I was being judged for trying to get help for the pain was ridiculous. The second after the doctor actually looked at my injury, everyone got really nice and friendly. It was just really weird after getting the cold shoulder for over two hours...a complete 180.
