Arts for All provides a much-needed outlet for a community that is too often overlooked: those with mental and physical disabilities. At Arts for All, it's about what they CAN do, not what they CAN'T do.

I worked at Arts For All some years ago, and although it was one of the most challenging work environments I've ever encountered, my experience there was life changing...literally. Changed my whole course of direction and motivated me to continue in the non-profit world.

I think that the other reviewers may have forgotten the reasons they chose A4A, and moreover, the reason they chose to become an AmeriCorps member. Non-profit work is NOT easy, and we cannot begin to imagine the efforts it takes to create, direct, and manage an organization. That being said, we should not be so quick to pass judgment on those who spend so much time and energy running a place that truly tries to improve the lives of their clients. What may seem "petty" from ones perspective, may be the difference between open/closed doors through the lens of a director.

Appreciate the place for it's mission and the clients who touched your heart, and the opportunity to learn how to work with colourful (albeit dominant and overbearing) personalities. There will forever be a soft spot in my heart for A4A and the people who have made it a life's work to do good.

I have been involved with Arts for All on many levels for quite some time. My child and now adult has been through the programs and is in college, he has confidence more than most, has a strong community support system, and I owe a huge thanks to all of the dedication that the executive director and staff put into the these children/adults. She is no joke that is true, she puts her heart and soul into Arts for All.

Arts for All started out with a great mission. They offer wonderful programs and have the potential to be a great program! Keyword is potential. They offer classes that don't even have teachers to teach them. They have a high turn over rate with staff because the executive director and her daughter who is in charge of the day program treat the staff like abused dogs. All I hear is negative things about the Owner and her daughter and as a parent I have first hand seen both of them abuse the staff there. The only People that work there that truly seem to care is the Assistant director and the new person who is in charge of the children's programs. Change needs to happen and quick because this abuse has been going on way to long for only a few other people to speak up. Arts for All is soon going to be Arts for noone because at this rate they are going to have no staff and no people wanting to attend. Get rid of the problem. It is time for the Executive director and her daughter to go. Places like this should be fun and welcoming to everyone. Remember that before you come here.

Before moving your butt across country and starting AFA, I would highly recommend you talk to someone who has already done the program. First off, you are required to go to weekly meetings, usually three a week and around 6:00 in the evening. There is a lot of paper work, and the director is a moody, dramatic woman that likes to yell at her employees in front of an audience. The mother-daughter director/human services director add a uniquely strange effect. Can we say conflict of interest? While you might expect kind, nurturing people at such an establishment ... Don't! The place is overrun with gossip and negativity. There seems to be a basic lack of trust among the staff trickling down from the top. The best part of the program are the participants, and for some, they are enough to stay, but remember, it is a year of your life that will be lacking in well- being and health. And if you still have doubts... check out their BBB rating.

Our son has been going here for many years because they've always welcomed him and made him part of the community. He looks forward to going, makes friends, and enjoys the activities. They helped him discover his love for the stage, and have given him many opportunities.
As a parent, I like it because their expectations for our kids are so high!

Arts for All is a great organization that makes a real difference in the life of their participants. The confidence that grows in the children and adults when they engage in the arts is amazing.
