Awesome place lots of fun stuff to do! Great employees!

My husband and I went to the ice cream pottery class on 9.22-tonight. I wouldn't really call it a class because we were shown a quick 2 minute tutorial and then left hanging. Our instructor was unprofessional and kept leaving her "class"to attend to other things. This place was empty besides the ice cream pottery class so I'm not sure what else she needed to attend to. We were supposed to learn how to make bowls and be given ice cream at the end. Both did not happen..I would like a refund so I could use my money to go to pitter platter in Lexington. Horrible horrible horrible.
I'm editing this review to add that my legal first name begins with a Dan and last name begins with sch. My middle name is delilah. This is in response to the owners comment trying to contact me.

So much fun for the whole family. Helpful and creative environment. Fabulous place to make gifts or just relax!

(pt.2) 1 star(s). Kids are promised things a lot and we never get it. The owner steals from people. My friends mom handed her 100$ for pizza at the bowling alley. She was even generous enough to say if it cost more take anything out of my account or contact me. We never got pizza. And 30$ was drawn out of her account. I witnessed it. I really disliked it there

My husband and I signed up for their "ice cream night" pottery class. It was $55 per couple and the description said we'd be making 2 ice cream bowls each, and then eating ice cream. We arrived and had no idea where to go. No employees welcomed us. We found the rest of the class and waited five minutes to start. Then the instructor said it's super difficult and gave us a 3 min tutorial and told us to go for it. She told us to make whatever we want. Needless to say most people ended up with crappy shapeless objects because our instructor walked off to do other things. We also only got to keep one thing we made per couple. Ice cream was never even offered. Very poor experience. Not what was advertised at all.

Such a fun and creative space for a family activity!

Went 5/1/18 with my daughter- was very disappointed with the experience. There were only 3 other patrons there. The employees were not very helpful- had to keep getting up to go ask them for help with my project. Ended up trashing it. Wasted money but enjoyed spending time with my daughter.

It s relaxing ; laid back atmosphere The manager was very informative and kind;-) Themes for birthdays, nights for the kids , special events .

I recently visited ArtSmart Academy with my Girl Scout Troop. I had heard many wonderful things about ArtSmart and was looking forward to the activity that was planned as our Christmas party. The two young ladies that were in charge of our group were very dis-organized from the start . It took them awhile to get themselves together before they started the party. Once the party started they were very slow at getting the girls going on their projects. Several times we (the leaders of the troop and parents) had to request they speak louder so the girls could hear them. On quite a few occasions during the party, I saw one of our parents working with our girls and answering their questions. When I looked for the ArtSmart employees, they were either on the computer, talking in a corner, or nowhere to be found. This is completely unacceptable. Each of our leaders, and several of our parents, are more than capable doing painting crafts with our troop, however in this instance, we paid for this establishment to host a party. At other like businesses, this means that our hostesses are to work with the girls, be there to answer questions and help them with their projects. I was highly disappointed with the service that we received and as a result, I will not return as a patron and will not recommend ArtSmart Academy to friends and family in the area.

Always a helpful and fun time. The paintings just keep getting better!

Don't work here. DO NOT send your kids here. Please, for the love of your kids DO NOT send them here. I had to console way too many kids after Katherine yelled at them.

If you had a bad experience with one of the employees, it's because we are always stressed out, overworked, and under staffed.

There is no HR department so you can't report anything that happens. There are many things that need to be reported but there is no one to go to.

The kids, customers, and fellow coworkers are awesome...but

Art Smart Academy is a fun, family friendly place where children and adults can learn the value of creativity and art. The pricing is very and the staff does a very good job. They also offer a variety of classes and services.

I am a kid who went there a couple years ago. I got suspended for saying Oh my god. The owner may remember me she may not. There are some people who work there that are super nice. I'm not sure if she fired them or not. Got expelled for saying the slang term peridot (The end of a sentence) She clearly listened of the end the sentence and just decided to throw me out. The person who I was talking to didnt even like me and just sat near me because she had to. She even told her I didnt day what she thought I was saying But all my friends who went still hangout. What I'm just saying is if you let your kids in there then expect to get a letter stating that your child has been kicked out. Oh and the only reason I left 2 stars is because the other staff is cool.And its Maurice Perry

As a mother of two, I would not put my children in the care of a person that exhibits such a lack of self control. While driving in traffic today, the Art Smart Academy van almost caused an intentional accident. I called the number listed on the van and was told the owner was driving. I initially planned to file a police report, but ultimately decided that creating awareness about the lack of self control exhibited by the owner today would be the best service to our community. The main concern I had when calling Art Smart Academy was that children could be on the van being driven so recklessly. Thankfully, I was informed there were not. But if a person (in this case the owner) can not control his temper in traffic, how can he control his temper when dealing with children? It does give me pause.

Hey friends and family... Art Smart Academy is a great place for kids of all ages to get creative and have lots of fun.. Stop in and explore your creative side.

I absolutely adore art smart academy. My first experience was 2 years ago for my 40th birthday party. It was a girls night out topped with food, drinks, painting and loads of laughs. I recently took my 4 year old son on a Sunday for their drop in family day and again had a memorable experience picking out our clay figurines and painting them. Truly amazing place to visit and experience at any age.

They refused to accept my son in their after school program because of him being in the special needs program. They said we cannot accept you because of your behavior problems , right in front of my son. Rude and unprofessional. Hope they cancel their after school program. The whole place smelled like cigarettes.

Awful staffs, very unprofessional place ever. I recieved a call for a job interview at 1830. I drove an hour just to get there and who supposed to interview me went home already even though i was there 30minutes early. It passed 4days and no one even called to apologize or nothing. This is not a place i would like to send my kids to learn anything. What a unorganized educational place it is!? Even all the staffs there didn t seem to care but a little girl had to come up to me and tell me Katherine who is in charge for an interview went home!

Where do I begin? I remember when Katherine would day dream about Art Smart, and the reality is much bigger and brighter than anything ever imagined. As a result, so many of my cherished memories have been captured here - belly casts, hand prints, foot prints, and memories of wonderful birthday parties and women's night out. There may be other places that do what is done at Art Smart, but this place is born of passion and driven by a desire to share this passion with everyone. That is captured wholeheartedly in the day to day operation, which is not what you would find anywhere else.

I came here with my friends and it was so much fun!! As college students we didn t want to spend too much money but still have fun and this was the perfect solution. I can t wait to go again

Very unprofessional after school program bias and extremely judgemental based on owners personal interactions/views. Poor customer service and privacy regarding students records.
