I'm happy with the help the salesman gave me. I haven't purchased a bike yet, but I was able to test ride several bikes and will decide which one is the best for me.

Not a big fan. Ordered a helmet for a race. Paid extra for 2 day shipping. Called Art's TWICE to ensure it would arrive in time. Race came around but no helmet. Two thumbs down.
I ordered a SRAM Red chain. I received a chain missing several links packed in a plastic bag. I requested a chain with all the necessary links to be sent 2nd day air. I finally got a new in the box chain shipped ground - no apology = no more of my business. Beware!
They went the extra mile to install a new seatpost collar on a dropper post to get me back on the trail. Always helpful staff and good prices and availability for all parts.
One of the best online and cycling retailers around. A great group of guys with skilled employees in both mountain and road biking. Thanks for providing top-notch service.
Staff very helpful. They have treated this non expert bicyclist with quick service, helped establish a loss I had from a bike/car collusion I was in, have sold me several bikes that have fit my needs, and generally have a well outfitted and staffed bike shop. I would recommend them with out concern to anyone.
They guys there were all so helpful and super friendly! Thanks guys!! They all need raises, all of them! Haha!!
The staff here are excellent! Very helpful, friendly and the best in SLO.
Over the past year I have been buying bike components in order to build up a road bike. I have found that no other company offers the consistency of quality customer service and competitive pricing as Art's Cyclery. I have really enjoyed doing business with this company and would suggest it to anyone interested in purchasing anything cycling!
Art's is great! Great prices, reasonable shipping rates, super fast, and friendly customer service! From anywhere in the country, this is the bike shop to turn to! Thanks guys!!!
This place is super sick. They always are willing to work with my budget and my schedule. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for something bike related!
Easily the best online retailer I've ever gone through. Very good prices and INSANELY fast shipping. I use them for any and all parts that I need.
Received 5 star treatment from Kyle and other staff this past Sunday. Had been looking for a particular discontinued Specialized saddle for some time. Found the right model and size on their website. Called them, Kyle found it, and held it for me. Seems simple, but phone service at too many places is just a royal crap-shoot. Not here. As well, some websites and their actual physical inventory don't match. Seems they work hard at Art's to make sure the website is accurate and up to date.
This store was well staffed, and has a great inventory of bikes and accessories. Art's is a great place to shop, and they do a good job catering to cyclists of different ages and skill levels in my opinion.
Excellent tune up at reasonable price. Staff also very knowledgeable about local routes and rides; happy to chat too!
Best bike shop in town hands down! These guys know their stuff.
Demoed a Yeti SB130 back in December. Professional and friendly staff! Two thumbs up
I needed a pair of shoes for my spin class. Wanting to support a local business and hoping to get good service since it was my first spin shoe purchase I went to Art's. The young man who helped me out seemed semi-knowledgeable and I purchased a pair of shoes. He assisted in identifying cleats and two men installed them for me. This was exactly the type of service I was looking for, but unfortunately the cleats did not work on the spin bike at the gym. I wasn't happy about having to return the cleats since the whole point in going to a physical store was to make sure I made the right purchase. When I went to return them the young man working the counter said that I couldn't return them because they were already mounted and used. I purchased the cleats they recommended, they mounted them for me, and I don't think attempting to clip them into a bike pedals qualifies as used. I realize there are different types of pedals and cleats which is confusing to me and clearly the young man helping me out was just as confused or didn't have enough information to make a correct recommendation. Whatever the case, at the very least it would have been nice to be informed that I wouldn't be able to return the cleats once they installed them and that the cleats may not be compatible with my gym's spin bikes.
These guys are by far the best online bike store. I have purchased multiple items from them including bikes, return policy is easy, their customer service is excellent. I will continue to order from them whenever possible. Their price matching policy is great. Keep up the good work.
Go anywhere but here. Came through this spot while on a bike tour down the coast. The guy who runs the place was rude and nasty. Spent 3 minutes looking at my bike and charged me 30 bucks. Worst bike shop experience ever.
Art's is the best online bike (or anything) store I've used. And I've used quite a few. They don't necessarily carry everything, but they do carry quite a bit and, even though I shop for both, the road and mtn separation on the site is helpful. And when I've called customer service with a question, I've received outstanding service! The how to choose and how to do video's are a great feature! The orders I've placed have qualified for free shipping - $50 purchase for UPS ground and $175 for UPS 2nd day. Those terms really make them even more competitive with other online stores and, although I support my local bike shops as much as possible, the prevalence of online availability has forced brick and mortar to carry less inventory. So, your options are to have your local shop order it, sometimes taking longer than same-day merchants like Art's who ship orders same-day as placed. And local shops often aren't likely to give discounts on special orders. Just as a personal strongly held belief, anything that needs to be seen, felt or tried on SHOULD BE PURCHASED FROM THE LOCAL STORE YOU USE TO DO SO! It costs local shops $ to stock inventory for you to inspect and try on. I know people who negotiate some kind of discount with local shops when their price is significantly higher, but the act of checking out or trying on an item at a local store then ordering that product online is DESPICABLE! So anyway, please read on for the highlight of the Art's Cyclery experience (in addition to great customer service):
THE VERY BEST THING ABOUT ART'S: THEY ALWAYS SHIP UPS!!! I live in an urban area and have a small locked fenced yard and the entry door is behind that fence. Package delivery is a nightmare. Even suburban areas of Houston have issues with stolen packages when they are left on doorsteps and anyone over 18 can sign for a restricted delivery package from most shippers. And if and when you get notices of attempted delivery, it takes extra days to as for a pickup option and finally get your package. So... if I can count on the fact it will be shipped UPS, I can address it directly to the UPS Customer Center (not a store, a distribution center with retail desk), where it is held as soon as it's received - no waiting for (unsuccessful) delivery! Has been very reliable. MOST ONLINE RETAILERS use a variety of services and either don't indicate the method of shipping until it's shipped (e.g. AMAZON - shipping method decided by an automated algorithm) and others sometimes tell you the wrong shipper when you call since it depends on certain factors. I have been told by merchants a purchase will be sent UPS, so I have it delivered to the me, c/o UPS Customer Center and then it's sent UPSP or Fedex and of course UPS won't accept another carriers packages at their address! I can count on Art's to send UPS every order. I only recently discovered them but they will be my first go-to for cycling items. I have vowed never to use AMAZON again. That's hard bc they have everything and for good prices. But I can't deal with a merchant who can't tell me how my purchase will be shipped.
So THANKS ART'S - your online customer support (videos, chat), exceptional customer service and timely/consistent/dependable shipping make you my go-to online retailer!
I've ordered (and returned sizes that don't fit!) a fair bit of merchandise from here. The prices are very competetive, the shipping is fast (even to NJ), and the returns are easy. I had a pair of cycling shorts fall apart and they replaced quickly and without hassle. This site is my go to cycling site before I surf the web for other companies.
Today I bought Santa Cruz reserve rims, and up graded my cassette and derailleur and chain, and other stuff for my bike, very helpful staff especially Humberto, he hooked me up with everything I wanted.
Great customer service and friendly staff, I highly recommend Art s cycled for bike purchase and service and accessories. Happy MTB, thank you.
Prompt shipping, and very quick response to an issue not of their creation -- shipped a replacement the same day after a couple of quick and friendly emails explaining and sorting through the issue. Thanks guys,
Awesome experience! I have taken my bike in 2 times, for a break tune up, and a loose cassette and both times everyone was very friendly and helpful. Didn't even charge me. I also returned a bike lock that I bought from there that I had foolishly broken and they replaced it without any hassle. I will definitely be coming back again!
My family and I have been coming to arts cyclery for many years. We vacation to the SLO area and rent mountain bikes from SLO. The staff is very friendly, they literally have everything in stocked, and the prices are reasonable. I only wish Arts cyclery was in my town.
Great Business. Great Selection. Good Prices. They have items other stores do not. Very Professional-items delivered on time with return label in the box. Although I live on the other end of the continent I will be looking here for my cycling needs first.
We had to wait for an hour to find out whether we could exchange a bike we got that day for another bike only to find out we couldn't exchange because there was a scratch on it!
Art's did me right!
They mispriced a bike but honored the price and with a discount!
Thank you Trevor!
The People here are very nice, helpful & professional. However, my bike shopping experience at Art's was disappointment. I wanted to replace my old friend Rockhopper with Sirrus Elite or Comp and a new bike for my wife. Ready to Buy:
Art's did not know what a Specialized Vita Vinyasa was. I did.
Art's did now know they had a Specialized Vita Vinyasa in Stock. I did.
Art's did not know the 2017 Specialized Sirrus Models were available. I did.
I went to Art's to Learn, not Teach the Staff.
Art's did not have Sirrus Elite or Comp to test ride.
Art's did not have any Sirrus Elite or Comp bike colors to look at.
Art's Staff agreed Test Drive before you Buy.
Art's Staff agrees Art's don't provide this experience.
Art's is not a good place to Buy a Specialize Bike.
I am Bummed because I have to wait until I get to a big city to Buy my Specialized Bike.
.
JUST HAD A NEW RIM SET BUILT FOR OUR TANDEM AT ART'S. SANDY THE MECHANIC WAS VERY CLEVER IN DIAGNOSING A CHALLENGE. JOSH, ONE OF THE OWNERS WAS VERY HANDS ON WITH ALL THE TECHS. GREAT TO SEE A LOCAL BUSINESS CATERING TO EVERYONE WHO WALKS THROUGH THEIR DOORS. OUR NEW WHEELS, A GREAT UPGRADE. THANKS ART'S. J&M
Biggest bike shop in town. The store is connected to a large Wearhouse so they almost always have what you need in stock. Helpful staff good prices and if you're in a hurry they do local pickup, select and pay online and they have it waiting for you.
These guys are the bee s knees. Only shop I go to. Family atmosphere, knowledgeable staff and great service.
Outstanding Customer service and very competitive prices. I am an avid road cyclist and as you can imagine order allot online. Art's is like a local bike shop but online, and with prices as good or better than the other online sellers. All my contact with them, through their online chat and via email has been amazing in every way. There are many alternatives online, but none are as good as Art's Cyclery.
Exactly the right part, shipped fast and best price online. Would definitely purchase from them again.
Excellent experience with customer service: Purchased a 2016 Intense Spider 275C a few months ago which had issues right off the bat with sticky levers on the Guide RS brakes and vertical sag issue on the Reverb Stealth dropper. Worked with Connor and Kyle to get refunds on the labor charged by LBS (parts were covered by SRAM under warranty) and/or gift card to cover my out-of-pocket costs. Took several weeks to get the bike all sorted out but now it rips. Thanks a lot guys and I would highly recommend Art's Cyclery for future purchases/service.
Special ordered shoes and they were very helpful and knowledgeable. Great place for a cyclist
Awesome shop with a great staff. Everyone was super helpful. They also have an amazing selection of demo bikes, even in smaller sizes. Oh! And they definitely have coolest water bottles EVER!
This is a stellar little shop. Great folks - super helpful, very nice. They have a thoughtful selection of quality products and are happy to share their experiences/opinions on the pros and cons of various options. When I needed a campagnolo cassette tool they didn't have one in stock, so they gave me the shop tool at a discount and ordered a new one for themselves. You can't beat that!! They also know all of the local rides.
I've made 2 purchases from Arts Cyclery so far and will order online again from this retailer. I first ordered shimano wheels which were packaged and received in perfect condition and also a set of clipless pedals. crazy fast shipping. I have not spoke with their customer service because everything has gone very well with this company. I live in Oregon and I was very satisfied.
Great Bike Shop with knowledgeable staff. i was having issues with my Mavic hub and they squared it away for a minimal $$. Dont forget to spin the prize wheel; if they still have it.
Excellent service and great expertise The people who answer the phone are patient, knowledgeable and very courteous. I highly recommend Art's Cyclery. The prices are excellent and also they have great sales. Andy and Kyle go out of their way to help..
Like everyone these days I do most of my purchasing online. After watching numerous Art's Cyclery videos via Velo News I decided to check these guys out while shopping for my new groupset.
They gladly matched the price of a larger competitor (CC) and were patient enough to answer all of my question via phone and email. So I had to wait a couple days longer than usual, but that is expected with a smaller shop. In exchange I received great customer service, courtesy and nothing short of exceptional professionalism.
Plus, their technical videos made the Di2 install process a snap!
Very very rude over the phone when asking simple questions.
1st time Customer. Super folks to deal with. Everything went off as promised. Great pre-delivery communication. Love the Catlike Leaf helmet. Will purchase a new road helmet later this summer. Thank you
I had a great and easy service experience with Art's Cyclery. I ordered a bike rack which came in an unopened box from the manufacturer, but when opened found the wrong rack (equivalent value) was inside the box. Somehow the factory put the wrong rack in despite the big photo on the front. It was my fault I bought the rack over the winter and didn't open for 3 months, but I called up Art's and they made getting the right rack super easy. Will be buying from them more and more.
Best cycle shop. I drive from San Diego to purchase when I need anything for my bike.
I went in early Saturday for a quick wheel repair. Service was great and staff were extremely knowledgeable.
Kind of a "members only" kind of feel here. Been there multiple times and the majority of my visits the staff treat me with relative disinterest. Last time I was there I was looking for a few things and first the staff member told me they didn't have the road helmet I wanted (which I had already seen on their website, he couldn't find it because he was looking on their website computer console in-store and searching mountain bike helmets).
Then when I inquired about sunglasses he told me they had "sold almost everything" over the holidays and wouldn't even open the display case. Had to find another staff member who would actually open the case and then I (reluctantly) bought them. Almost every time I go it's a similar experience. Only go there now when I've checked every other shop in town.
Great place people are helpful.. So much inventory.
Super helpful and friendly. Stoked to say this will be my local shop for 4 years. Thanks guys
The new location is smaller, but super cool. It is back to the neighborhood bikeshop, with everything from beginner equipment to high end. The owners are real riders and know what they doing. They deliver great service because they love what they do. Go to Arts, they will take of you.
Josh and crew were SUPER HELPFUL in getting my bike back on the trail. As a newcomer to SLO, they treated me like a long time local and service on a scale of 1-10 was a 14!! Thanks Guys!
Super nice, helpful and patient. Renting a bike and they made sure it was outfitted to me before leaving. Quickly repaired a flat half way through the rental no problem.
I have purchased several items from Art's... Even with excellent cycle shops in my area, I will still consider Art's, 9 out of 10 times... I buy from Art's
My Vittoria Randonneur Pros finally started showing some casing, so it was time to replace them. This place came up as having the cheapest price, by far (about half what the tires were most places, which I found suspicious) in Google, but they had a good reputation so I went for it.
Far and away the best experience I've had buying from an online place I'd not interacted with before. I ordered on Sunday, they shipped on Monday, got the tires on the promised day. Tires are exactly as advertised and definitely brand new.
My only caveat is that their credit card entry form is not encrypted, but you can use PayPal so that wasn't too big of an issue.
We are fortunate here in SLO to have a several great bike shops. The guys at Art's Cyclery however, take things to the next level. I have had them help me with quick things like brake lever bleed and derailleur adjustment. The most recent project was a creative internal routing of a dropper post cable on my hardtail. Totally recommend Art's, these guys will listen to your needs and will offer best customer service ever. They make you feel part of their crew, just join Taco Tuesday's rides and you will see it for yourself.
These guys are great!!! Great deals combined with expert friendly service. I used them when I went to Poly 20 years ago and, having moved back into the area, am happy to be using them again. I wouldn't take my bike anywhere else in SLO county!!
I brought my bike in and they gave me a rim job on the spot and lubed me up for free!!! Such Great service! They made sure I was truly satisfied. I will definitely be coming back for more rim jobs!
Extremely helpful. Took care of my small emergency right away. Younger sales guy quitely moved my bike when I unwittingly leaned it on a $7000 bike for sale. He did this in a respectful and polite way. Amazing store!
Always willing to help find you exactly what you need. Employees are knowledgable on everything bikes. Yew.
Needed to buy a bunch of various brake parts, cleats and whatnot and found Art's were the only guys around with everything in stock... The right stuff at good prices, shipped fast (and free). That's high value. Will be shopping at Art's again soon.
