I come here for the patio out back. It's a fantastic urban oasis that allows you to sit back and have either a coffee, wine, or sandwich outdoors.

Never have I been more ignored. Sadly had to beg for help from one of the "gentlemen" at the bar and didn't even get a "goodbye"
Another customer was more than happy to help and was actually super friendly and supportive.

a bit bright, would have preferred a less cafeteria like atmosphere but when the cafeteria like atmosphere is in the midst of library like shelves of wine, one can't really complain. great wines and we met some cool folks as well.

A perfect little shop that curates a refined selection of wines, liquor, and beers. I love the fact that they had a massive selection of wines. They had all types of wines and liquors to choose from. The staves were very attentive, and detailed explaining the wines. The owner was so kind and friendly. I will surely visit this shop again.

I got this place and I found out that they have a good selection of wine. They also have knowledgeable staff that could help customers well. This is a nice place where they could answer all my concerns. Thank you so much for the assigned person on that day who really helped me. I would recommend this place.

We just got back from a wine tasting trip to Burgundy and wanted to try out some of our new found knowledge. They had a fantastic selection of natural wine from France and some interesting producers from small villages in Burgundy we visited. They normally have tastings most Thursday nights and we hit a really good one.
You can look online to see most of the inventory or call and have it set aside. Very professional staff and great selection of French wine, California not so much.

Very nice wine shop! The staves are super cool, knowledgeable and accommodating. This is my secret spot to enjoy a different (and delicious) selection of wines. The arrangement of the wines was very organized and cleaned. AWESOME place if you want to buy any kind of wine. I will give a five-stars satisfaction rating because I am very satisfied!

This establishment had everything I was looking for. Sat at the bar style seating near the window and shared a Chablis and a Gev Cham with a friend. Great selection of old world wine at reasonable prices. Will visit again when I return to SF.

It feels like a great spot to settle on and visit. Order bottles of wine and choose your cheese plate at the wine bar as you enter cocktails on the upper level and food at the back of the outside courtyard. If you are looking for great wine and chill place outside, then this is the right place for you!

There is a wine fridge for tasting. The staff makes great recommendations on the best wines or bottles from the shop that makes for a good dinner party. Private wine tasting sessions and champagne nights are very sociable and well recommended. I love this place for they provide the best service. Thanks a lot!

They close at 7 on Sundays but we were able to finish a bottle of pinot noir first. Between Hayes Street Grill and Absinthe. Quiet enough to have a conversation! Highest recommendations

This week, on a beautiful afternoon, my husband and I were walking through the area with our sons when we saw a wine tasting sign. Alexa was extremely accommodating as we asked questions about the wines and then did a tasting.

Love this place. Casual, good food, great wines. A bit pricey, but to be expected in that location. Food quality is excellent. Counter service and self seating. Order your food, then go grab a glass of wine in the wine shop. Just lovely.

The best wine shop in the city. They have a unique, constantly changing selection with surprisingly reasonable prices due to their affiliation with the Absinthe restaurant group. Plus the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Just tell them what you like and they'll go around and pick out bottles for you. Super fun experience. (Covid FYI: They have a walk up window and a menu of recommended bottles, but they'll happily help you pick stuff out from the full selection if you ask.)

This is a cool spot on Hayes. Interesting wine selection by bottle, glass or retail with simple food selection. Back yard garden is a great spot for relaxed conversation in an unusual and quiet setting.

Good place with a good ambient but the sales woman doesn't know what she is talking about. We asked for a sweet wine and she highly recommended a certain one and when we opened it it was terrible. Worst wine I've ever tasted.

Good wines in general, a little pricey compared to other places in the city. I wish the would carry more Sonoma and Californian wines in general. Good place to buy a bottle and enjoy it outside. Staff was very informative.

Great place to hang out on a weekend afternoon. The variety of wines was great. They had different kinds of wine to choose from. The staff was indeed knowledgeable and expert about the wines. The place was really great to have some glass of wine. I will surely visit this winery again. It was such a great place.

It's the best place to purchase a wine bottle! The workers were highly knowledgeable, their taste for wine was fantastic, and there was always something new to try. Every Saturday, they also have wine sampling activities. I can see why this beautiful wine shop has widened so much. Only go try them out!

I find it fun to experience wine tasting wherever I visit. The wines at this shop were different and these are mostly sweet. I did find a Pinot noir that was good and two sweet blends. The prices are also very reasonable. Ana, our tasting room server was excellent and made the tasting experience fun! I would definitely visit here again.

We walked in and had no intention of purchasing anything, just browsing. I have been set on another company for a while until I tried this place. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and did not hesitate to help us! He immediately started a conversation and helped guide me to what would be my new favorite wine. Arlequin is by far my favorite wine shop in SF. The staff is friendly, and their range of producers is always impressive. Plus you have the option of sitting and enjoying your bottle on the back patio.

My friends and I stopover here in your shop because we were captivated by the nice view outside and the entire design of the shop. As we entered, the place was clean, and the staff was very entertaining. When the waiter gets our order, he was very informative and friendly. Meanwhile, when our order was already served, we then taste it. The champagne and the beers were good. It was truly worth it and satisfying. We will be back!

Impressive, expansive collection of wines, French in particular. They even have a selection of French Cabernet Francs that are not overpriced, which is unusual. Service was pleasant and helpful as well.

If you consider yourself to be a gourmand of wines then you definitely have to come and check this place. Here, you can find different wines such as Chardonnay, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Well, we really liked this wonderful place. We used to stop here and have a bond with friends. I loved the jazz music in the background and the wonderful wine! This shop was satisfying! The beers and champagne that I ordered together with my friends were quite very good and OK. Honestly, we greatly enjoyed every moment that we visit your shop. This place is the best! I really love to come here every Saturday to buy my favorite wine to complement the meal that I always prepare every Saturday evening. This wine shop really has the best wines to choose from, and their staffs are very helpful. It was truly the best wine shop in the area, and I will surely recommend this to all. Wine can be intimidating if you're not an expert, but the friendly people and great collection at Arlequin Wine Merchant make the experience feel comfortable, fun, and unpretentious. There are almost always wines open for tasting, and they can be purchased by the glass. The store has a quaint and comfortable wine-cellar feeling with tables interspersed between crates of wine, avoiding the feeling that you are closer to a stranger next to you than the company with whom you arrived.

Arlequin Wine Merchant is connected to Arlequin Cafe - an act of true genius, allowing you to order something delicious from the Cafe and have it with something nice to drink from the Wine Merchant. On nice days, you can enjoy food and drink on a lovely patio in the back, or on-street seating out front (a favorite spot for dog owners). The Arlequins are a perfect mid-day pause for a Hayes Valley outing. Their proximity to the Performing Arts garage means you can stop for lunch, buy wines, and drop off your bags at your car before venturing back to Hayes.
