Pizzeria generally implies that that someone in the kitchen knows how to cook a pizza, or at least what one looks like... The pizza base looked more like a Cruskit doused in oil. If you find your sorry self in the dark, windowless hall they call the bistro (which is the same as the pizzeria...) then do yourself a favour and don t order the sweet potato pizza, or the pineapple or the chicken, or anything on the pizza menu for that matter. Best part of the evening was the bus picking us up out the front. I think you get the picture.

Room was a bit dated. Advertised as ski in ski out but not quite accurate. Bar and bistro understaffed and had to wait along time to order food and get a drink. For the money it's not bad but not great either. All said, I would stay here again but only if something else wasn't available.

Excellently located on Mt Hotham! I stayed here with a large group of friends. The rooms were comfortable enough for all of us, but there was some disparity regarding facilities available - e.g. some rooms had dishwashers and better showers. however this may be due to the fact that we were staying for different durations. All in all, would recommend.

A friend and I stayed at the Arlberg in Mt Hotham in August this year and it was a great stay. The in house pub did great meals and they have a brewery to make their own beer which is delightful after a day snowboarding as is the pool, spa and sauna. Staff were helpful, friendly and had a great knowledge of the mountain. The location is close to everything you'll need. Will be returning here.

Don t Stay here!!! The shower recess wasn t clean, hair on the tiles. The beds were uncomfortable, the couch was old. No wifi or phone reception. On Monday night the staff decided to have a late night party despite paying guests still staying there and took us a couple of trips to reception to complain before the staff did anything about it.

Best place to stay to experience a ski holiday in Hotham. The room has everything you need. There s a little shop & ski hire in the same building. Pizzas are great from the bar and very reasonably priced for the snow. We ll be back

Everything about this establishment was what we wanted, with one exception. The beds were horribly uncomfortable. Would recommend BYO bedding if you don't like sleeping on a piece of granite. Other than that, food in the bistro was good, would recommend the pizzas over the normal pub menu though, definitely better.

We stayed in a 1 Bedroom room 7-Aug to 9-Aug - room 419. I'm not one to bother with hotel feedback / complaints / reviews but can't let this one go through to the keeper.

The room we were allocated was unsafe, dirty, un-maintained and half-serviced.

It had almost no similarity in fit-out and cleanliness to the images on your website - the images that led us to choosing to book at Arlberg....to the extent that it was blatant false-advertising.

One of the bunks was dangerous - when my friend lay on the bottom bunk a large piece of metal fell from below the top mattress and hit him on the head. We lifted the top mattress to figure out why, only to find some dodgy home-crafted pieces of random metal just lying across as slats. Not original parts of the bunk and completely un-fixed to the frame, just asking to fall with any wobble of the bunk. A $150 Ikea bunk would have been safer. Some of these dodgy bits of metal were bent with sharp edges. They were clearly not meant to be part of the bunk and a massive safety hazard.

No one could sleep on the top bunk for fear of dropping more metal slats down onto my friend. I took the top mattress out to the living room and slept on the floor.

Just before moving the mattress, I looked to sleep on one of the sofa beds in the living room. I folded one out only to find the sheets had been slept in - gross. I folded it away and tried the other one - same thing. Disgusting. Hence sleeping on a bunk mattress on the floor. Although we then also found that not all the bunk mattresses had been made up with sheets, so we had to ask for sheets to be supplied for the fourth bunk mattress.

The bathroom looked nothing like the photos. The bath/shower was chipped, old and damaged in many places, the wall adjacent to the toilet was filthy with random dirty marks, the ceiling in the living room is collapsing due to a water leak above it, and there was some undescribable gunk on the floor between the vanity and the bath.

Aside from the lack of cleanliness, it is clear that the owners/management have done absolutely zero to maintain/repair/upgrade the room in many many years. It would cost less than the money from our two night booking to replace the cheap and dangerous bunks, yet management/owners had clearly not been able to bring themselves to spend a cent on this room for many years, despite the potential risk and liability.

For $600 a night, the photos on the website looked ok - a clean, basic hotel room. The reality was woeful.

Given all of the above (especially the safety issue with the bunk), we would have gone at had a word at reception. Unfortunately the person on reception made it clear from the moment we approached to check-in that the less she could interact with guests the better. We were friendly and chatty as we checked in, only to have one of the most surly receptions I've received at a hotel. We thought she just might have been having a tough evening so let it go, but whenever we came across her through the rest of the stay (reception, the shop, etc) it was the same. It was clear that taking up the issues with the room with her would be a waste of time. No interest in customer service.

This room was appalling and something needs to be done about it, especially the safety issue. The Arlberg Hotham website offered a false representation of the standard of accommodation being booked. Photos attached below - including some comparisons of what we were promised by your website vs actual.

It was so bad that we want a partial refund. The only problem is they are completely ignoring our emails :/ Don't stay there.

I understand that a weekend away at the snow can be a pricey holiday but when you order a Hawiian pizza at a so called pizzeria and it arrives at your table with 5 pieces of pineapple accompanied by a sprinkling of ham and charge you $19 you can understand I m going to walk away disappointed. The so called pizzeria was also located within a run down hotel, with no windows, overheated and served by staff who would rather be anywhere but there. I won t be back, I won t be recommending and anyone who chooses to dine at this poor establishment is exposing themselves to utter disappointment.

We stayed at the Arlberg on our last trip to the snow, we went the bar/bistro (dungeon) for dinner and the live band that were advertised throughout the mountain.
When we arrived there was not a band in sight, nor half the food on the menu, in the end we had to have mediocre pizzas, and armpit burgers whilst listening to everyone else chew(no band).
It's a shame we'll have to drive past it next time, as even that is to close.

NEVER AGAIN.

Overall solid place to stay with great views and pool and spa. Also enough cooking instruments to be self contained. Rooms a little old fashioned and cleanliness needs a little lift but otherwise good value.

A difficult time for small business, our hearts go out to those affected by COVID-19 and the small businesses on Hotham. Our recent holiday at Hotham was cut short due to the lifts stopping, pretty disappointed at the lift company but we were able enjoy a few days on the hill. The staff at Arlberg were great. Our booking for later in July, we were able to change to the 2021 season. Great local small business. Thanks Arlberg

1. Arrived and they failed to record our booking which we had made 4 days in advance.
2. Only saw one waitress on a Saturday night and constantly saw people sit down at clean tables and leaving straight away.
3. Meals were slow and didn't come out all at once. By the time most of us were done, others were just getting their meals.
4. The pizza tasted like a brought one from Coles with extra topping on top.
5. Chips had no salt and were just frozen packet as most were still hard in the centre. Also no tables with salt or pepper.
6. Parmis claimed they had fresh salad but was soggy af and wouldn't even feed a rabbit with it.

Definitely doesn't deserve a rating of 4.1. Extremely disappointed!

The apartment was poorly kitted out with glassware clearly been collected from surrounding venues. Poor kitchen utensiles and mattresses well past their used by date. Neither the supermarket nor the bar bistro were open and when the bar did open it had little to no stock. Reception staff were freiendly and accommodating. Wouldn't go back.

Obviously you do get what you pay for and Arlburg is cheaper than others at Hotham. The website says parking out front to unload your gear and a private tunnel straight to reception. That is fairly misleading as they forgot to mention that you have to carry your gear up two significant flights of stairs to get to reception. They have trolleys at reception for your gear but when we got there we were told that the second lift was broken and we had to trolley our gear up to level 5 and then unload the trolleys as there were two more sets of stairs to get to our room! 6 people, 2 of them children and 2 of them older people have a lot of gear when skiing for a week! Needless to say, by the time we'd carried all the gear up the 2 flights of stairs then unloaded all the gear and carried it up more stairs, along a corridor and down another flight of steps while wrangling a toddler, we were tired and angry. The rooms are standard, nothing flash but comfortable enough. Just don't fall for the line on their website about it being an effortless place to stay!

How timely that Google just asked my to rate my experience at Arlberg. I just found out there is no wifi and myself and my sister both need to work during our stay here. Maybe they haven't advertised wifi but we had assumed that such an expensive hotel would have wifi given ALL the smaller lodges at Mt Hotham (where we usually stay) have wifi... This is 2017 and for the price that Arlberg charge to stay I expect wifi. We'll stick with the smaller lodges in future and won't be staying at Arlberg again until they get wifi.

Great location and great facilities. Good food at the bistro nice hot spa and friendly staff. The ski shop on level 1 was fantastic. We stayed in an apartment owned by a friend of my partner's and the beds were great but may not be the same as other rooms. There is limited transport around Hotham and the manager of The Arlberg offered to give us a lift to the airport when we were leaving but let us down at the last minute. Would have preferred if he had just said he was too busy from the start.

Just booked our family holiday for season 2017. Hot tip... It was cheaper to book direct on the Arlberg website. Was able to call them directly to confirm our room arrangements. We actually needed to change rooms due to bedding configurations, and they were extremely helpful over the phone. Very pleased with the booking process. Now, just can't wait for our holiday.
