As someone who grew up in the West, I feel lucky that an establishment like Arkansas Diner exists in Taiwan. From the decor and music to the food (which is delicious and authentic), I felt like I was back in the states having dinner with my family. A much needed experience considering many of us can't go back for the holidays this year.

You will find the best burgers from Kaohsiung to Arkansas Dinner. I personally recommend the burger with a blue sauce or even one with peanut butter! The owner is very friendly and made us the only table in the store that was purely Taiwanese and we were happy to enjoy authentic and delicious American food. Today, I ate a hearty MacArthur salad, thick cheese noodles with tuber noodles, delicious fried steak with mashed potato, signature dessert walnut pie and ice cream. Big push!

When I have gone the food was good. The desserts weren t that great, tasted better other places. Except foe the apple pie, that was good. They heat it up for you too. The first time I went the burgers were delicious. I got a burger again and it seemed like they changed the recipe, there was pepper and it was spicier than before. Recommended to my friends and they were disappointed. Said the owner felt like he was pushing them to get dessert when they were ready to leave. Their food came cold and the night they went the portion sizes were smaller. They complained that they felt like they were running out of ingredients and they were skimping on the sour cream and whatnot. Granted, they did go on Fourth of July.
The scrambled egg series is delicious. I like spicy chicken wings. This one is not up to my standard. Then I suggest that the boiled water can be taken in a buffet style.

Came for the famous biscuit but was very disappointed. Biscuit was not crispy on surface, texture was dense and not flaky or soft enough. The burger bread was cold on the surface but looks baked inside, why?

The taste is very good. Nice to have WIFI. But it's like American price with local small size serve. You can't say the food would satisfy everyone. Therefore, I have to agree with some other said ... It's a bit pricey here. If there's not enough seats you have to sit outside even the weather is very hot, cozy garden tho. Took a while cooking, some friend has finished their meal and some has not even served. Not recommended for a group of friends. The waiter didn't give any recommendation for the food order, just drop the menu and left. They can't remember what did you order. Drinking bucket was empty for the whole time. So I won't say the service is good. I can only say you can find a better restaurant.
In my ten years of living in Taiwan, this is the most authentic American breakfast I've had.
The biscuits and gravy are on point, and those sausage patties are authentically spiced and just delicious.

Even the service was like back home...a friendly waitress who actually checked back to see how everything was.
