Beer and pizza were great. Service was sub par. Waitress disappeared after the check was put down. Also never asked if we needed anything after dinner was brought to the table. Glasses sat empty have first fills
Delicious pizza and great beer. What could be better?
Good pie. Half pepperoni-mushroom, half scrapple. Nothing wrong with the pep-mush, but I wish I'd ordered all scrapple. Didn't have any today, but they always have good beer on tap too.
The beer was great and the pizza was excellent. I had the pork and peppers. Must go spot.
Delicious, hazy and hoppy IPAs. The Freddie pizza was bomb AF.
Great beer! Extremely friendly staff. Made us feel like family!
Great beer, food and fun! This is the place to drink local craft beer, hand made pizzas and pretzels
white pizza with arugalla on top was delicious, well baked with a good balance of toppings. the sour, berry beer was very good and i would get it again. not a big fan of live music in small venues during dinner but the band wasn't too loud
Amazing pizza AMAZING beer. Great staff with friendly service. Wing tuesdays rule!
Went there for the first time ever. Server Shannon seemed annoyed. We ordered. Two in our party ordered Wavy Grainy. One looked okay the other looked like someone had a bowel movement in the glass. The server said the keg was getting ready to kick and that the beer looked like that but it should be okay to drink. Seriously? We sent the beer back and asked for the bill. Shannon left the charge for the bad beer on the bill. Honestly. She did not remove it. I paid it and vowed never to return. As an aside, the beer I ordered was so so - 7 Day IPA. Wanted to try the food but just could not get past the poor service. First impressions are lasting impressions. There are other local breweries that are very good and the service matches the quality of the beer.
Update...an owner reached out and asked me to give it another try. Apologized for the off experience and agreed about impressions. Wants to change my impression. I like that kind of care and approach. Being in business and staying in business is tough. I'm going to take the owner up on his request and give Argilla another try. Stay tuned.
The experience itself was nice enough, but everything was too greasy. Grease dripped off my boyfriend's slice of pizza as well as my chicken caprese sandwich.
Awful service, order was wrong.
1 other table at lunch time and took 35 minutes before our "entree" food was even started.
Ordered Iced Tea for drinks. Was told it was being brewed. 28 minutes after sitting down, finally brought 2 glasses of iced tea out. It was so cold the ice never melted. How was it "just brewed" if the ice never melted?
Ordered pile of fries w/old Bay seasoning. Served "old Bay and crab fries" I had a 2yr old and 3 year old w/ me. Yes, please pile on the Jalapenos for them to eat. When I said that wasnt what I ordered. Server argued with me it was and refused to fix it or bring plain fries for kids or even just old Bay fries.
We ordered our food at the same time, husband gets his food, kids and I have no food. I look up and they are just making kids food NOW after husband has his food! Who serves a grown man food before making a toddler food!?!? I walked over and canceled my food due to having to leave for another engagement. Husband is almost done before kids food arrives.
When I asked for a manager was told there wasn't one.
1 other table in the place with 3 men sitting there. That's it. 1 table. How can 2 people not manage to handle 2 tables at lunch time?!?
Great Pizza! We live close by and visit on the regular. We always have a great meal and great service. Keep in up!
Top. Notch. Place! Great entertainment, I love their beers, and our server was excellent.
Don't let the menu selection fool you. The food is worth the trip.
I was a little surprised when I saw that half the menu was just pizza. So, when in Rome.... Get the pizza. And boy, was I impressed. Great pizza! This isn't some after-thought bar food pizza. This bar was built around the original pizza ovens and original pizza recipe of a family favorite restaurant called Pietro's. You take that pizza, blend it with the "neighborhood pub" atmosphere, and the micro brews on tap, you got one heck of a formula for great little hidden gem.
Great food and beers!
Love the bartenders, but definitely a relaxed atmosphere.
Best onions and pulled pork. Good beer selection and service!
Have the Onions rings - they are great and enough for four as an appetizer.
Great Pizza, great beer and good prices .
love it
We love their food and service. The pizza is a bit steep in price, but it s one of the better pizzas In Delaware.
Great food and drinks, awesome staff, and relaxed atmosphere.
Great beer, food and fun! This is the place to drink local craft beer, hand made pizzas and pretzels, and a warm and welcoming staff. There is still a full menu of sandwiches, salads and appetizers plus tons of entertainment during the week to boot.
Really, really good food, laid back fun staff and AMAZING desserts. I was initially really surprised by the quality of their non-pizza entrees. Would highly recommend trying them out.
Great place for a fun-time hang out! Also, I am a happy. Customer for life they put scrapple on pizza! And....it is delicious! Thanks for the creative topping choices.
Dinner with my mistress here last night, phenomenal pizza. The owner Steve is the man! Great beer.
Nov. 2020: Domiciled in slower-lower for the past 4 or 5 decades, we rarely travel to the far northern reaches of our cute little state, but Mrs. PappyBob and I braved the journey up here to Argilla to try an IPA or two. The drive was a nice reminder that not all the rude Delaware drivers reside in Kent County.
Anyway, we arrived just after lunch hour and opted for the 7 Day IPA. It was a decent IPA and, being the beer tourists that we aspire to be, we rated it 3.75 on untapped. Would have loved to have ordered a pizza, but that will be our mission next visit. Kudos to Argilla Brewing for enduring through all of this COVID mess. Keep on doing what you do!
Great wings....get'em grilled...Pizza is phenomenal as well. The beer is awesome and the flavors change all the time!
Bartender Matt awesome my fiance and I had a blast unbelievable grilled chicken sandwich fresh avocado and jalapenos best 5 star atmosphere!
Tonight was the first night I have ever ordered from here. I tend to order a little closer to my house, however with everything going on, I really wanted to support local businesses in general and I really wanted pizza lol.
I ended up ordering a regular pie, stromboli, and the most delicious style of pizza- an apple and bacon pie. After I entered, I decided to include a few drinks from the advertised menu.
The stromboli was good, but I would have liked to have had it cooked more. That was actually an option when ordering, so now I know for next time. Regular pie was really good, crispy enough, with good flavoring. Now, this apple and bacon pie, let's talk about this mouth watering pizza ( and I'm originally from North Jersey and used to good pizza). It was the perfect amount of salty and sweet that was just an explosion of flavor in your mouth. I usually stick with basic pizza options, but this seemed like a unique choice. Highly recommend this pizza. The beer I chose was really flavorful and the "Moms Apple Pie" cocktail was on point ( even though I am a gin lover).
Very impressed with Argilla Brewing Co. @Pietros Pizza! Prices were fair, food delicious, and the staff member I encountered was beyond sweet and helpful. Will definitely be going back.
One of my favorite spots! Excellent service, great pizza, delicious beer...Wonderful specials and awesome live music.
Always love the pizza and the staff at Argilla! The beer is great too! Went to burger night tonight and ordered the angry mushroom. Delicious! I highly recommend! The only sad part is I could only eat half of my burger and boxed the other half to take home and left it at the restaurant by mistake....
Great people, Great pizza and always great new and interesting brews!
We hosted an event at Argilla's for about 40 people. We had a simple menu of pizza, wings, salad, and baked ziti. Food was delicious and beer was good. The service was a little slow but generally the event went smoothly. Candice decorated the event in our colors for free as an extra special touch. We definitely recommend eating there!
Pizza is great, Pete is infectious and everyone loves him - from the oldest to the kids, if I hsd an office in the area I would offer him a job, hard to find customer oriented employees
Never ate here and after today - never will. I called around noon to get a reservation for a table of 8. They told me as a strict policy they don t take reservations on Fridays and Saturdays. Understandable, I suppose, if you are that popular. I had tried to speak to the manager at the time to get a feel for how crowded it could be and if we could get seated early if the entire party wasn t there (we could not) as there would be a child in the group. We decided to go earlier anyway thinking it would be less crowded. Guess what, they couldn t seat us- not because they were too crowded, but because they had two reservations for 10 people that night. Glad to see that they were really enforcing that strict policy. All of this could be a misunderstanding, which wouldn t merit the 1* review if: 1) the daytime manager wasn t so aggressive and rude regarding their no reservation policy 2) the evening hostess wasn t so uncooperative and unsympathetic. Neither employees acted like they cared of their customers ever returned again or not. This place may have a high rating but in my opinion they must be the Comcast of microbreweries in the area - you deal with the crappy employees because it s the only option you have. We, however, won t.
Food here is standard pub fare but it is better than most. The pizza is thin crust that's nice and crispy but not overcooked with plentiful toppings. The pretzels and beer cheese were just OK, they tasted like they has been microwaved. Service this visit was really good but can be hit or miss.
Definitely will go back, there are still too many things on the menu to try.
Small selection of nano brew craft beer. Beer is homemade which is great. Pair that with an excellent pizza and I'm happy. Average decor, nice staff. A great place for good pizza, bar food and homemade beer.
Excellent beer, food, service and atmosphere! My favorite place to go!
I've been here on several occasions now. I see a lot of people complaining about the prices, but I don't get it. If you want Applebee's prices, you're going to get microwaved, pre packaged and not good food. This place is fairly priced and fresh. The service feels like a good, neighborhood tavern. It is friendly, personable, and not at all pretentious. I can tell you that in maybe two dozen visits I have had one issue with food which was addressed quickly and more than fairly. Wings, burgers, and pizza are all fantastic. You can get a good "fat kid" fix if you want to eat some of their tatertot and cheese creations.
Best pizza and wings in the area! Friendly atmosphere and great menue.
Best pizza...crispy, tasty and the service was too notch! Get the meatball!!! Oh and not to mention the IPA...all 3!
First time customer, 25min no server visited my table, wont be back. Notice how some reviews are replied to and other ignored.
WOW! We just had the rehearsal dinner here for my daughter's wedding. They did an amazing job. Great service, great food, great drinks. They didn't meet our expectations -- they blew them away. HIGHLY recommended.
Thank You!!!
I enjoyed the beers! Pizza was pretty good but whole restaurant was cold so my pizza got cold too fast
Great pizza and home brews. Id like to give 5 stars but the service is quite lacking. If im at a bar the worst thing you can do is not offer or leave me with an empty cup. You would think if im paying for drinks id have a full beer or at least an offer for one. Step up some service and could be a 5 star place.
this place is hands down the best place to eat n hang out.. best pizza in Delaware which is rare but its good.. and this comment is coming from a native new yorker who lives in the 5 boroughs... keep up the good work!!!
Was there for dinner Tonite. Ordered the pretzels as an appetizer. They USED to be our fave. They were disgusting. Tasted like they were made yesterday and then thrown in the microwave for way too long before being served to us. Server was lovely and apologized but that's it. The pizza was good but was super disappointed by the app. Our server again apologized when I paid. Apparently everything is done on a tablet now? Didn't see the check. She just told me the total so I handed her my card. And no receipt. Didn't even think to ask for one. Never had to here or anywhere else before.
Great pub with great food and also serves house made brews
Food was great service and service was great as well!!
I've been here a few times in the past and was always happy with the service and the food. Until this past Saturday. We walked in around 9:30, stood at the hostess station for over 5 minutes waiting to be seated and no one ever greeted us. No hostess in sight, no waitress in sight. A young guy behind the counter just stood there and stared at us, never walked over, never called for help. The bartender was busy tending to people at the bar but we were definitely visible to him too. We ended up leaving. Couldn't believe they were that careless on a Saturday night. Oh well - the Mexican place on Main Street that we went to instead got a 30% tip that night for the fabulous service we got there!
Top. Notch. Place! Great entertainment, I love their beers, and our server was excellent. I am in a wheelchair, and they were exceedingly friendly and accommodating. The only knock (and it's a good problem to have) is that I went when a popular blues band was playing, and the place was very, very crowded. Prepare for a crowd, or come on a slower night. This place is awesome.
Great food and beer choices! We had great great service and even live music! The beers we're all brewed in house!! Loved this place
Best time out with four generations, after Covid Lockdown. Good Food, live music, drinks and service Tops!! Like family. Thank you for hosting us
Had some great pizzas and beers. A little pricey but the family left happy.
Beer selection is wide, and usually quite good. The Deathwish cheesesteak is a favorite is mine. Nice simple menu, but plenty of options to suit my tastes.
Its a great place with great food and entertainment. Everybody is very chill and the regulars are very generous. You are treated as family once you get in the place
First let me start by saying I haven t been there in a while but wanted to grab some food with another couple. We walked in and should have just turned around due to the heat in the restaurant. That said we were greeted by a friendly staff member. We sat and ordered our beers and food - both came out timely. The food was great, however, the beer was warm. As a brewery, we would have expected the beer to be its showcase, and it was not.
Our server was excellent
However, we won t be back. The atmosphere and environment wasn t condusive to a relaxing night out with friends.
I gave this his two stars and the beers were sub par and not cold
But like I said the service and food were great.
I have been to Argilla 3 times in the past moth. I think the pizza is the best (it's thin crust), hanburgers and fries are great and the shrimp, avacodo blt was awesome. There are few places that will let you pick 3 toppings to put on a hamburger/cheeseburger. The food may take a little longer to get - its' well worth the wait. The food is fresh and hot. Desserts are home made and the Chocolate Stout cake was really good and the Strawberry Shortcake to die for. Both are big enough to share with 2 and just sweet enough.
We loved Argilla Brewing. Moonshine drinks and craft beer - awesomeness!! Sin City - Awesome!! Pete singing the last song of the night - awesomeness!! I got the Deathwish cheesesteak. Could also be known as a country breakfast cheesesteak. What I liked - it was awesome. What I didn't like - a little small and dry. Luckily I ordered a side of house made beer cheese for my sweet potato fries and the sweet potato fries tasted like candy so I put the beer cheese on the Deathwish. As a whole we loved Agrillo Brewing.
Took FOREVER, and really nothing special to write home about. Dear mom, went to Argilla today, got here yesterday...almost done appetizers, dessert is scheduled for next Tuesday.
I probably should know better than to order raw tuna at a bar in a strip mall, but shouldn't I be able to expect decent nachos? The answer is apparently no. Meh beer also.
Im not a beer drinker but they make there own also really good food
Very tasty tater tots with beer cheese, personal pizza's were fantastic. Good beer flight.
I hosted an afternoon event at this restaurant and they were very accommodating for our 15-20 people group. Candace was very helpful in planning and coordinating the menu and decorating as well! The pizza, wings, ziti and salad was delicious! And the beer was great too! The staff also participated in the theme and dressed for the occasion. The atmosphere was perfect for our casual event. I will definitely return to this establishment and recommend highly for others!
I love the food and beer. They offer nice pizza and burger! It is always a place to go for a cheat meal! Sometimes the live band can be too loud if you are chatting with friends.
Bad business practice. My son worked for them back in 2014, he cut himself, he was taken to Limestone Medical Aid unit by his manager at the time, Candece. She assured me everything was going to be taken care of as the accident happened while he was working. Well, three years now and he is still being billed by Limestone Medical Aid Center, which is permanently closed now however their billing office is still active. We have called and written letters repeatedly and when Limestone was opened they made numerous attempts as well without a response. Negligent, irresponsible and deplorable business practice! It is now in the hands of the State and an attorney!
Pretty good place, but seems they recently stopped offering samples. Bit iffy to pay $7+ for a strongly flavored craft beer that you've never tried before. Pizza is good, and the beer is usually excellent, but buying a pig in a poke makes other local options more appealing.
Great beer options for lovers of multiple styles. The pizza is top notch and the service is phenomenal. I ordered an adventurous pizza and it did not coincide with my pallet but the bartender made sure to take care of me and hooked me up with a new pizza which was phenomenal. Will definitely be back, thanks for making such a great first impression!
Tday wih Anne and Matt and Petee the experience was like old times. Jus sayn
Great craft beer and awesome pizzas! Live bands all the time, and tons of parking! Conveniently located near the university, but not filled with college students.
Ok beer and food. Doesn't take American Express so it limits business visits.
Took 5 min to be acknowledged after walking in door, no line.... 25 mins there to just sit and watch. I understand its sat night and its busy. After stating it was my first time there, figured it would be drinks at least....wont be returning
Love this place! Hands down the best traditional style pizza I've eaten in the state of Delaware, no place else come close. Despite what I've seen in other reviews, I've never experienced a problem with poor service. I've wanted to try other menu items, but each time I'm there it's PIZZA!!! Yeah, a 2 topping pie runs around $20, but it's a decent size pie and they re generous with the toppings. Beer selection varies, but each one i have tried has been at worst drinkable and more frequently quite good. Great place for people watching as well. Was last there on a Saturday night a couple of weeks ago. Early entertainment was a trivia contest based on old sitcoms (lots of fun) followed by live music that was above average in quality. It's not fancy, but it's well worth a visit.
Great back yard pico brewpub. Friendly, good food, great beer.. usually free live entertainment. Pizza is best around.
