If you are considering doing business with Arciplex I would like to share with you some of the details of my experience. First let me say that my initial impressions of the owners and staff of Arciplex were very positive. They seemed to display genuine excitement regarding Arciplex s desire to be a part of producing and bringing my project to market.
When I first went to Arciplex, I already had my patent and a reliable and working 3-D printed version of my device, which I provided to them. I also provided copies of all the technical drawings, which were used to design and produce the 3-D model. (As a note: when the 3-D printed version was returned to me recently it had been completely disassembled, the internal components were missing, and I was provided with only the shell).
Arciplex in their agreement with me stated my project would take ten (10) weeks to complete. The ten (10) week deadline passed with no prototype, and no explanation for the delay. At approximately the sixteen (16) week mark I received a message saying the owner s father wanted to take me to lunch. During the lunch meeting I asked about the purpose of the meeting and was told it was simply to get to know their clients on a more personal level. However, upon returning to Arciplex s office after lunch I was told the electronic circuit was proving more difficult than originally anticipated and I was asked to approve up to an additional three thousand ($3,000) for the electronics design and development.
I frequently contacted Arciplex and be told my project was only a couple of weeks away from completion. Over the course of the contract contacts and updates from Arciplex became increasingly rare. In May of 2016 I met with the original design team and I was assured the electronics were all finally complete and I would have my prototype by August 2016. The August deadline came and went with no prototype and I was also informed the original design team had left Arciplex. I was assured by the owner, that the departure of the design team would not impact my project. The owner s statement proved to be accurate in that there continued to be a seemingly endless list of excuses for failing to complete my project.
In the fall of 2016 I told the owner I wanted my project by the end of the year or a full refund of all monies paid to Arciplex. It was not until December 30, 2016, that I was finally invited to a meeting where I received a prototype. As you may recall I was promised delivery in ten (10) weeks but I did not receive the device until 60 weeks had passed.
Upon receiving the prototype, I immediately shipped it to my marketing representative, but upon arrival the device failed to function properly. It was returned to Arciplex approximately four (4) times between January and July of 2017.
When I met with Arciplex again in July of 2017, 84 weeks into my ten-week project, I was told they would make all necessary repairs and provide me with a high-quality, production ready prototype by August 10th, 2017. The electronic circuit board of the prototype we received on that date still contained temporary jumper wires and failed to function properly within twenty-four hours.
We are now at the 92-week mark of our ten-week project. While Arciplex has missed every deadline in the contract since undertaking this project, they are not unaware of certain details. In our July meeting the owner did selectively quote from one clause of the contract. The contract commits Arciplex to deliver finished products that will withstand market testing, including frequent shipping and daily use for at least 6 months. The owner quoted the six-month limitation to me in spite of having ignored the ten-week project timeline and his obligation to provide a finished product that will withstand market testing, including frequent shipping and daily use.
Draw your own conclusion from his selection of that portion of the sentence. If Arciplex addresses my concerns in a positive manner I will update this review.
