Worked there for three years saw horrible things. Day program workers Would drive to parks to smoke and let all the clients sit on the bus to wait. I have seen group home workers dragging clients along on their own personal shopping trips. Have seen employees give meds without med training completed. Employees have done things like taunting clients and did not get fired while I got fired for clocking in my hours WHILE driving a company car to clients homes.

The Arc of Carroll County does not respect or treat their employees fairly. Employees are over worked and under paid. Employees work full time hours plus overtime, but are refused full time benefits. Staff who are actually with the clients taking care of them, are seen as just baby sitters, even when it comes to the health of the clients. The administration belittles the direct staff, not taking them seriously about what is noticed with the clients health. They wait until it's too late to do anything for the individuals health and safety. Even when advised to keep clients home to recover from an illness, they send the clients in to the day program the day after they return home from the hospital, because they do not want to take the time to find coverage the individual needs.
