One of my favorite ski resorts; the runs are no joke, the waits are short, and the BBQ half way up the mountain is more than respectable. This place is a bit short on beginner terrain, if you're in to that sort of thing.

ABASIN is a place like nowhere else. In an age of huge corporate ski areas ABasin is what ski Areas used to be like. Late Dec - Feb can be cold and icy compared to its neighbors but any other time this is unquestionably the best place to ski. The terrain is challenging but there are enough beginner and intermediate runs to entertain everyone. The Black Mountain Lodge has some of the best ski area food I've ever had. Expect $15 - $20 for a meal without booze but that's to be expected when you're on the side of a mountain.

A Basin is a great resort for more advanced skiers. There is some beginner terrain on the lower mountain, a nice selection of strong blue runs, but it really shines for the black, double black, and expert skiers. The setting is beautiful, nestled up against the Continental Divide. It tends to be one of the first resorts to open and one of the last to close. Great Colorado skiing!

My favorite ski area. No parking fee, short walk to lifts from parking lot. Outstanding above tree line choices for intermediate to double black runs. Nothing better than to ski the "Legend" in fresh powder and bright sunshine. Buy a T-Shirt from the ski patrol and support the A- Basin rescue dogs!

A-basin is a fine place to go skiing. It has one of the longest seasons in Colorado, which is a big draw for people who buy a season pass. Couple that with the price of a seasons pass, and the value you get it's frankly insane. It's definitely not Breckenridge, which is both good and bad. A-basin is smaller and has less runs, but it is typically much less crowded than Breckenridge.

Its the ski slope the locals love and for a good reason.

Free early bird parking. A good range of slopes for all experience levels. Great instructors!! (I had Jeff who was outstanding) Reasonable prices for kit. Plenty of seating for eating.

Go during the week if you can. The secret is getting out. Rental opens at 8am, lifts at 9. You get ski/helmet/poles hire with lessons. BRING GLOVES AND GOGGLES.

The only problem is the ticketing system. What's the difference between a multiday or season pass and a lift ticket? Why are they all different prices and why is it so much cheaper online? It needs to be be explained better on the website.

We love this place. We live in the UK and this is our 5th trip to Summit County. A Basin is The Best! Great natural terrain with plenty of opportunity for skiing on ungroomed terrain in the bowls or through the trees. There are of course a great selection groomed trails too, so no matter what you're looking for - A Basin has it all. All the staff are uber friendly and helpful, it has a great bar with live music and a well stocked shop. A Basin is all about the mountain - it's not over commercialised or "corporate" - Skiing / boarding as it should be.

Pretty amazing most days. Sometimes the lifts are moving too fast or too slow. Food and bar good. Amazing scenery. Parking lot not very big, but if you arrive early that is not a problem. Some runs are marked poorly and you'll be skiing a blue and since it lacks snow its basically a black. Hard to beat for price and proximity to Denver.

Abasin has a little something for everyone - spectacular views, delicious food, tasty drinks (especially their famous bacon bloody marys), and mostly importantly, the skiing... Abasin has great, wide open greens and blues for beginners, but what they're known for is their more difficult terrain. If you're an expert skier and like steeps and bumps, Pali is for you. Enjoy!

For beginners there's a great bunny Hill to learn on, though lessons aren't the cheapest among nearby resorts. There's a good variety of runs for more advanced skiers and the day pass is reasonable.

I m sad to be leaving a negative review, but I promise to leave a more positive one in the future, as this is one of my favorite places to ski, ever!

Before leaving my house this morning, everything looked great on the website, but once I arrived at Arapahoe basin, I discovered they had closed Lawnee lift without any warning. Not only was the backside closed, but also my favorite runs from this lift. There was nothing updated on their website, but when I got home this evening, I see that they have at least updated their list status to show that it is closed. Needless to say, I did not have a great day of skiing because of their lack of communication. At least I got some good food and drinks there
