Currently a zoo member. Came here all the time with my parents as a child, and now come here frequently with my girlfriend. Lot has changed over the years but still thoroughly enjoy it. Food is a bit pricey, but love the animals and atmosphere

Love the Maryland Zoo, the staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. I loved seeing all the amazing animals, my personal favorite was the polar bear. It was nice to have the tram near the entrance as I have a bad knee, it make getting from place to place so easy. Thank you for all your hard work to take care of these animals. If I have any suggestions, it would be to allow for more affordable animal encounters, so I can see them up close, I dont mind paying a bit more!

The Baltimore Zoo is always a great time! The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgable and always willing to answer questions. The zoo is set back from the busy streets and once you walk in, it's hard to believe you're in the middle if Baltimore. Also, the Penguin Encounter is my favorite exhibit!!!

The elephant enclosure is too small. The handlers use elephant hooks and have the elephant hold their legs and preform for spectators. These elephants should be retired to a sanctuary and freed from the tiny living space and cruel negative handling techniques.

Safe. Hand sanitizing stations available. Masks are also required at certain sections but recommended throughout the zoo. Entry is blocked out to tickets so limited number of people at the zoo at any given time. I recommend your purchase your tickets early online and make it there within the 30 minutes allotted. Have fun.

We love this zoo. Went to see the polar bears for the first time since they arrived. Also checked in on the grizzlies. The walk is comfortable, not to many hills or steep grades. Most animals were viewable though some were not due to the cold weather and renovations going on. We already knew this so it was no problem for us. Staff is great here, always smiling and willing to help.

Love this zoo! It's way more fun than the National Zoo where you may or may not actually see any animals. My complaints are that the polar bear exhibit used to be way more interesting, and the food service and food in general is terrible.

Perfect size -- small enough to make it through the whole place with kids, big enough to have a lot of exciting exhibits! Lots of friendly, knowledgeable staff available to talk about the animals.

Small zoo with not s whole lot to see. Costs to get in. Good news is they're expanding and adding elephants. It was packed with kids yesterday when we went, it was kinda annoying there was not enough chaperones to keep them under control but its kinda expected at zoos. Had a great day overall.

Came from NY state to visit family, zoo was great! Map is a little confusing, most likely because it's so big. Several exhibits were closed, there was no note of this upon arrival. But overall good, my children loved ut!

They really could have a beautiful zoo. It is what I call the broke zoo. On any given day, the animals are not on display, because they struggle to keep it running. People need to donate more to help this zoo out.

A great place to visit! Food is expensive so make sure you eat before you go. The layout of the zoo guides you easily throughout the place so you get to see everything. In order to get to the zoo, you have to travel through some sketchy areas of Baltimore, which is my only gripe.

I've been a Zoo member for years. However, I've never seen the lions being trained! Now we can watch the trainers interact with the lions every Wednesday at 10:30! It was awesome. Just head for the new exhibit.

Getting to the zoo was a little sketchy, but the drive within Baltimore was relatively short. The parking lot is odd and I recommend not walking on it if you have weak ankles. There's also a fairly long walk from the gates downhill into the zoo (a non-issue for me but something to be aware of as the shuttles are currently closed due to COVID) But once inside, this is a fabulous zoo!

The zoo is AZA accredited and it shows. The animal exhibits were large and well maintained and the animals were obviously very well cared for. The few docents/interpreters/staff that we spoke with were extremely helpful and enthusiastic about their duties.

All traffic within the zoo is now one-way to promote social distancing and only a few exhibits were closed.

We had a very happy experience and look forward to our next visit!

This is my 5th time maybe visiting the zoo and each time pales in comparison to the last. Like always the parking was free but the cobblestone driveway . There was no wait to at admission gate and the pricing is fairly reasonable ( or so I thought). I love the fact that you can get on the trolley and access the park or walk a scenic distance around. With two children and a stroller I chose the trolley. Once inside we enjoyed seeing the penguins, and things were looking up until we reached the polar bear section. For the life of me I can't understand why I have only seen a polar bear here once. Sightings of them are as rare as the giant panda bears at the National Zoo in DC. I was very disappointed with this artic area of the zoo. We then went on to the African section only to find out that the giraffes, elephants, and lions were not on display. I aslo didn't see the camel ride (my favorite). The visit went to be rather lackluster, with the only up side being the face painting area. I'm hoping on my next visit things will be better since they were remodeling a lot of areas. I still prefer to visit this zoo as opposed to the National Zoo in DC.

Terrible place. Pretty inhumane as a lot of the larger animals were in small quarters and cramped. None of the concession stands were open either. $68 for the four of us was a waste of money.

A must-see if you are spending a few days in the Baltimore area. The zoo features a great and diverse collection of animals sure to please any animal lover. With behind-the-scenes and other animal experiences available, the zoo makes for a great day trip for all ages. You can easily do the entire zoo in one day but I do recommend arriving in the morning and grabbing a schedule of the keeper chats since these are great opportunities to learn more about the animals and conservation efforts of the zoo. Food is nothing to write home about but there is a selection of beer available for adults. Overall the zoo makes for a great outdoor activity for families and animal enthusiasts.

Wasn t planning on going to the Maryland Zoo but glad we did. Unlike some zoos the animals at the Maryland Zoo are easily seen. Not a lot of hiding places when they are outside. My wife and I relaxed and watched the animals roam about. I would go again.

It was very interesting. I think that the Zoo should be open later for the people coming late. There was so many animals to see and read history on them. I enjoyed the trip and will be back again.
