Arabian Courtyard Hotel, formerly the Sheikha Lati...

Arabian Courtyard Hotel, formerly the Sheikha Latifa Building, a residential property and later revamped as the Gold Souq building, to promote the upcoming Gold Market, in the late 1990's. A luxurious 4 Star property right at the heart of the wholesale textile district and a stone's throw from Dubai museum and amisdsr the hustle bustle is probably an overkill. But then, Dubai Visitors from all walks of life and all economic strata. The hotel still doing reasonably well is a testament to its popularity.

Highly service oriented. Great staff everywhere. Rooms are a good size with comfortable beds. Great location for getting around. Across from Dubai museum. Easy to metro, also taxis and Uber. They offer two late check-out options if you have a late flight. Breakfast buffet is standard.

Great, best impossible place in Dubai, it's in the old part where you find TD history of Dubai. Facing the museum, tbm not to be missed, I was surprised by the museum. Super well located.
Two weeks before we had stayed in another hotel. Close to Dubai Mall. Parliament liked the location of this one more. It has great restaurants within the hotel and a super charming pub serving alcohol. Inside the hotel. Name of the pub is Sherlock Holmes

There was a mild musty smell to the room though.

Nice little hotel with appealing decor. Located in a tourist-friendly area. Allows you to hop on the Big Bus tours practically right in front of the hotel because the Dubai Museum is across the street. Neighbourhood is easy to walk around and allows you to experience the 'older' Dubai that isn't full of skyscrapers. Close enough to the airport that your trip will only cost 25 dirhams by taxi.

Bathrooms could use a bit of updating. My bathroom tub didn't do a good job of keeping water in despite pulling the shower curtain. Water tended to end up on the bathroom floor. Excellent water pressure and drainage.

Staff was great. Would book here again.

Good sized and recently upgraded room, convenient location and quite atmosphere here. Breakfast is not included but plenty of options just outside. Walking distance to multiples shops, easy access to cab for sightseeing. Will try booking the hop on-hop off tour and a desert safari from lobby. It will be nice if hotel can give complimentary breakfast and newspapers in the morning.

I went to the restaurant, and it is very small but with a beautiful decoration, it is very close to Mena Bazar, so I recommend it to go eat and have a coffee. The attention of the staff is super friendly and attentive. As for the food, it is delicious, you have a great variety of dishes and a good price.

This was my oasis in the desert during a 12 hour layover in Dubai. Friendly staff, nice rooms with a slightly 1980's vibe. I'm just super disappointed I didn't get to check out the Sherlock Holmes themed bar!

I stayed again at the Arabian Courtyard during another business trip to Dubai, with this stay being 10 nights.

Sherlock Holmes pub now has no life or atmosphere, the new staff don't engage with the customers, and the new live band aren't as good as the previous 2 lineups.

My room was always clean, quiet (7th floor), and with a good steam iron and ironing board. The only issue with the room was the lack of hot water in the mornings for a shower, this hasn't happened on previous stays, but it was every morning.

If it wasn't for the likes of Ismail, Maureen, Angelito and the one young (I'm old!) guy on the front desk, who unfortunately I can't remember the name of, but is always friendly and professional, I would have considered changing hotels.

With a good location opposite the museum, a short walk to the souk and canal, nearby restaurants, and 10 minutes walk to Al Fahidi Station this should be a great hotel..... I really hope things turn round

Pros:

Pros:
- the decor across the entire hotel
- at the stop of the sightseeing bus at dubai museum
- kept clean
- room is of good size
- staff is kind

Ok:
- breakfast, sufficient amount of choice, however there were no changes to the menu whilst we were there (4 nights); time is reasonable from 0700 to 1030
- relative proximity to metro...10-15 min

Con:
- far from main attractions, but very good if you want to stay only in old town, if your focus are the new attractions then this isnt for you, as you will spend a fair amount on taxis or time on the sightseeing bus
- gym: equipment isnt looked after or mounted to floor, which can be dangerous
- room is somewhat dark

Have not tried the restaurants or spa services, so cant comment on them.
