Family with 2 kids, one 2, one 1. Went on a Saturday and it was busy, super busy. There are some great static displays here with wonderful touch and feel displays with great staff describing them.
Signage could be better even with the map that is for free.
Elevators are painfully slow when there are so many families with strollers. Toilets could do with more parents facilities.
I would recommend child minimum age is at least 3 to really enjoy it.
Any age above including adults will love it.
Too crowded small screaming kids no super latge tank to inagine the ocean
Small aquarium. Not worth the normal admission price.
I've been to aquariums all across the U.S. and this place is nice and clean with nice exhibits but compared to others it's kind of on the small size and the price of admission is pretty high for the size of the place. To be honest I was expecting quite a bit more for the price of admission. We literally went through the whole place in under an hour and a half and that was taking our time. In my opinion not worth the $29 admission price, and that doesn't include the little theater show those are additional costs.
The outside exhibits are great. For the size of it I thought there would be more inside.
Fun place to take kids. Don't miss out on the ray and shark tanks
Very nicely organized and a lot of activities for kids. You can even pet a shark...
Our family has been members for years and still love coming here. Such a great part of Long Beach.
it was very enjoyable! the kids had a blast scampering from place to place. the big tank in the main room was incredible and the interactive pools were cool. great place!
Lots to see and experience. Arrived when they opened and took advantage of wandering the halls without a soul in sight. Also a great deal to get the Aquarium + Queen Mary ticket package, a free shuttle runs between them.
Fun place saw alot of cool and interesting sea creatures.
First time here, came on a (busy) Sunday but it was still pleasent and not too crowded. Went with our 18 months-old and she LOVED it. So did we. The exhibits are really interesting, the staff very friendly. Great place to spend a hot morning. We'll definitely come back again soon.
Very neat aquarium. Lots of exhibits where kids and touch and feel animals. They have some pretty neat tanks that get you up close to sharks and stingrays.
It was nice. Only outside is open during pandemic. Still fun for the kids
Love the aquarium. Crowded as usual, but not insane. Great exhibits, shows and education. A must if visiting Long Beach.
It is good for little kids but older kids could walk through the place in a little over an hour and see everything.
Crowded on a special "senior free day" although I was told 1) Mondays are often the least crowded 2) "it can be a lot more crowded here" BUT enjoyed it immensely anyway, just looked for a viewing gap or a seat as needed.
Fun day at the aquarium. Lots of opportunities for the kids to engage & learn. So impressed with the young docents!
Beautiful seafront and great aquarium. Loved the 4d movie.
Amazinnngggggg, I really enjoyed my time here, I will be back!!! My favorite exhibits where the coral reef and art exhibits!!!
Worst aquarium ever. They literally had nothing thwre.
Very beautiful aquarium! It's a supercool place to hang out with friends!
Such a wonderful place for the whole family. Kid friendly at every turn, but not in a way that's overly so. Fantastic exhibits. Friendly staff. A deal for the price. You need to see this place.
Hadnt been there in years since I was little, took my kids and they loved it. Beautiful!
Educational and fun, sounds korny but i had a great time and wanted fish & chips after
It was a very nice aquarium. Safe is nice and everthing is very clean. Family friendly and alot for kids to do
Been to Chicago's she'd aquarium and the long beach aquarium definitely beats chicago one love the hands on for kids definitely more than just an aquarium here at long beach
Maybe it was just the time of day or day of month that we went but it was a nightmare. We went around May on a Tuesday around 1 or 2 pm and it was so slammed packed that you could barely walk. People were running into us, cutting us off, and knocked over my little daughter. I saw a poor woman in a wheel chair who could barely move around, it was horrible. There is no way that place was up to fire code and it was not accessible for disabled people. The only reason I gave it a second star is because when we left they gave us our money back, compt our parking, and gave us free tickets (even though we probably won't be back). Hope they put a limit on letting people in because it does look like a wonderful place otherwise.
Really awesome place, great for kids, nice gift shop.
$8 all day parking with validation. Also, good deals on the Harbour Cruise with admission if you really want to make a day of it. Great Jelly exhibits and make sure to visit the lorikeet aviary!
Definitely the perfect place for a family outing. They have a indoor aquarium and other animals outside including penguin and jellyfish you can touch
Spent a great day with all the ocean critters! Be prepared for day camps...noise level can be extreme. But the displays, and all the exhibits, we're clean & sparkling. All animals appeared healthy & happy.
Good place to take your children under 10 years old.
Very fun for kids some days are just more busy then others especially if there's field trips going on but very good place to bring your kid so many different varieties of fish
Great way to spend time fir kids and adults alike, well maintained. Could get crowded making navigation difficult or observe the exhibits.
Big tanks and lots of exhibits to spend time ooing and ahhing at. Our close encounters.with the otters and seals were out highlights plus the touch tanks with the Rays. Worth the distance, time and $.
Straight magical, even at age 18 this place still makes me feel like a kid especially looking at the jelly fish. The employees are all great, prices are what you expect but the visit is definitely worth it from field trips, to leasure, to date ideas. Love you aquarium of the Pacific <3.
Good to come to on a weekday when its less crowded.
Amazing!! Im gonna have to go again just to see the exhibits i missed.
Omg the hands on was so awesome and the birds feeding hands down best experience yet
Always love going to the aquarium! My only trouble was that they changed the food court and it was super disappointing not to have the selection they use to have. But other than that, always fun to bring the kiddos!
I loved the lorikeet exhibit and the touch tanks with the sharks. Really crowded on the weekends, go on a week day if you can.
I love this place! You can pet sharks, and Ray's. The Ray's love the attention. Jelly fish are a must see.
Way too crowded on the weekend. Expect to wait in line to park, then to get tickets, then to get close enough to any of the tanks to actually see anything. Maybe after the expansion it will be better.
Whenever I come to visit California I make sure that I bring my kids to Aquarium of the Pacific. This is by far the most beautiful Aquarium that I've evrler been to and I've been to many. It's small but the visit will have a big impact on your life after you leave. While there take time to enjoy a nice scenic walk along the Bay.
This aquarium is just amazing! My Brother and I visited it a couple of days ago and had an amazing time! For any other kids visiting for a field trip, I would suggest that you try to watch as many shows as possible. They teach you a lot in a short amount of time and they are only 10-20 minutes long. My favorite area was the seals and sea-otters exhibit. They are super cute and will swim right next to you for the perfect picture. Overall, I would definitely suggest visiting this aquarium!
Great place for kids! Lots for them to see and yes, you can pet sharks, Ray's, crabs and birds!!! Its a learning experience too. A good family day event!
Clean well laid out does get crowded. Yet a membership great value for the family.
I was my 4th grade daughter school field trip. Everything is amazing there....
Handicap accessible. Nice categorized exhibits, touch pools, feed lorakeets
One of my favorite places to go this was an awesome Place worth the money. I hate to pay for parking any place, but plan on 8 dollars. the place was cool lots of fun things to do lots of coll exhibits. I would definitely recommend it. go online to look for discount tickets. Close to the ocean fun to see the big ships, you could spend 3-4 hours here easy.
It Went for AAA member night, it was a really nice evening the new movie was really fun and not too many kids. Great time.
Full of kids on field trips running and screaming. New section is a theater with conservation film. Not impressed.
It s amzing loved it n every one was so nice loved Bubba Gummps
Very cool place to bring the whole family to spend the day !
Small place, great place to take kids, but ppo ricey for what they have there. Combo ticket- Aquarium with whale watch is a great deal!
It's no Monterey Bay, but it's close to home and is just big enough for the little ones. Great staff, great little events, nice large touch pools. If you have a 7 and under the annual pass is a great way to have a park experience for eight bucks a month.
Very nice aquarium. It's also in a great location near shopping and restaurants. We walked from our hotel and went shopping and to dinner afterwards. Great place to visit for a day or night out
I always heard how awesome the AotP was from my SoCal friends and how disappointing it was from my NorCal friends. I finally had to see for myself if AotP was indeed awesome.
The exhibits were pretty with their tropical fish. I enjoyed the otters a lot! The jellyfish are always my favorite and it was cool to get the underside view of the seals and sea lion. The shark tank was cool, but to me the tank looked too small and the tails of the sting rays looked so sad. I was impressed by the huge crabs that looked really old.
The lorikeets were my favorite part!
I was not initially sold on going to feed the lorikeets. We got there right before it opened and I thought the nectar prices were pretty expensive. I bought two anyway and braved the cage. Right when I walked in, I was swarmed. I had one on each shoulder and one on my head. I would have had more, but I ducked out of the way of the possible fourth bird. They were hungry, friendly, and kept pecking at my shirt.
Overall, it's a good aquarium. There are a couple things that made me sad. The air circulation was not great because the glass on the exhibits would fog up. A couple of times, I saw hands reaching into tanks to clean them. That freaked me out, especially when it looked like they were using a Mr. Clean magic eraser. There also did not seem to be as much edutainment compared to the MBA. I am a NorCal person, so I do love the Monterey Bay Aquarium, but AotP is not bad. When they make the expansions, I can't wait to go again.
Kids (3y &5y) enjoyed spending a few hours at the aquarium. The really liked the Tropical Fish and the playground. Petting the sealife wasn't for them. Hope to visit again for the Harbor Tour and mayne the littles will pet a starfish.
