Very high prices and we found out that the prices are raised about 25% a few days before their big 25% off sale!! We had our eyes on a 74 gallon cube tank for a couple of months and the price never changed until it went up 25% a few days before their sale starts on the 7th of February!

DEFINITELY NOT A FAMILY FRIENDLY STORE! DON'T TAKE YOUR KIDS THERE.
Employee told us not to let my 2 year old open up a fish cabinet door. My child was not screaming or pulling on anything, just curious. Employees must have been having a bad day, because not one of them smiled. Taking my business elsewhere from now on.

One of the best stores for fish. You are usually guaranteed a nice and healthy fish to be ready for a new home. The store is very big and has many options to choose from ranging from all kinds of saltwater and freshwater fish.

High prices. Be careful of who you get information from. Some of the employees aren't very knowledgeable. I learned that the hard way. My son was putting the tip of his finger in the Koi pond letting the Koi nibble on his finger. Totally harmless. He was told by one of the not so knowledgeable sales people to stop. He could give the fish a disease. Really? They're nothing but glorified carp. He was doing that for several minutes while other sales people walked by and said nothing. Put up a sign if it is such a big deal.

I decided to visit AA even though there were so many negative reviews on here. I am writing this to explain how my visit went and maybe suggest people that wrote negatively should give this store another try.

AA was relatively easy to find and sits in a large shopping mall. Going in the store was pleasing to the eye, the floors were clean and products neatly organized in an easy to understand way. I was almost afraid to go into the store after reading the reviews which claimed unsanitary conditions and dirty fish tanks. This could not be further from the truth. The place was immaculately clean. I examined every tank with a fish in it and each tank had clear water, no dirt or crud on the tanks and more importantly none of the unsanitary conditions that other people have described. I saw no dead fish in any tank and none that looked even slightly sick.

Another major complaint was the customer service offered by the employees at AA. When I first entered the store I was met by an employee who greeted me and asked if I needed help. I explained what I was looking for and he pointed me in the right direction, mentioning that employees where floating to help anyone who needed it. I found what I was looking for, but had a few questions about it. As I was looking at the fish I was approached by another employee who helped me out. What I found especially appealing was the fact the employee told me point blank that this type of fish was not his specialty, but that he could get a specialist if I would wait just a minute. Within two minutes I had a "specialist" telling me everything about the fish in question and helping me wonderfully. This employee went out of the way to make sure all my needs were met and that I understand everything I needed to know about these particular fish. I decided to purchase the fish, and the employee package the fish up and took the time to add oxygen to the bags to ensure the fish would survive the drive home. The employees were exemplary at this location and I was definitely impressed with the knowledge and ability to meet my needs.

Another major complaint was the price of various items compared to other pet stores. I tested 8 items from my local pet store and compared to AA. 4 of the items were the same price at both places. 2 of the items were more expensive at AA and one item was more expensive at my local pet store. I asked about their fish discount program, which gives you 25% off any fish in the store, and costs 10$ for a year. With this discount included only 1 item was more expensive at AA compared to my local store, and 7 out of 8 were less expensive. Please note I did not check the actual costs of aquariums, but prices on fish, food, plants and some other accessories.

Overall my experience at this location was wonderful. The store was clean, organized well and the employees were helpful and knowledgeable. Perhaps all the people who left negative reviews should go back and check out the place again.

Great store. Good and diverse selection. Clean. The staff went far and above to find answers to the difficult questions I asked. Nice and helpful. I'll be going to them for my chiclids from now on.

I love how knowledgeable the staff is about their products. They are always patient with my questions & very thorough with any explanation. It's a bonus that this is only a small detour on my way home from work. What keeps me coming back is that these guys actually sell live brine shrimp - my preferred food for my tank.

Ridiculously overpriced. They have a display tank of clowns that is RIDICULOUSLY overstocked. All the saltwater gobys were starving. Employees followed us around the whole time like we were going to steal. One employee was very helpful, but it s also frustrating that the fish I wanted are in a display tank, not for sale. Nice selection of tanks, ridiculously overpriced. Unless you can afford fish that are worth 3.99 for 40 bucks or more, DONT go.

Full service aquarium center whether you are setting up an aquarium for the first-time, you've been searching for the right equipment/supplies to do it yourself, or looking to expand your hobby both indoor, as well as outdoor. It is a fun place to discover new species of fish, plants and other aquatic creatures, big or small. We like to watch and feed the koi located in the indoor pond, too.

On Friday, 08/17/2018, I purchased $65 worth of fish. 1 pleco, 2 corys, 4 German Blue Rams, and 2 Calico Angelfish. My tank has been established for over three weeks and water conditions were acceptable to additional fish introductions. I conducted a test and there was a slight increase in my ammonia and nitrite level. So prior to actual introduction, I completed a 50% water change and conditioned the new water.

When I purchased the fish, I noticed the Angles has some white stress spots on them and informed the sales rep, he stated the fish were new and they were just a little stress and that they should be fine. The German Rams were on the small side. Anyway, I introduced the fish (this is not my first time, I have owned many aquariums). The next morning, one of the Angles was on the bottom of the tank. That afternoon, the same thing with one of the Rams. The nest day, I was missing a Ram, I figured he was lost in the plants. Well on Monday, I lost the other Angle and a third Ram. I conducted a water test and water conditions according to my $38 master kit, were within tolerance.

I took photos of the fish as they were dead in my tank an disposed of them. I then took a water sample to another store located on the east side of town (where I live) and received the same results. It was at this time, I looked up the fish return policy on the website and noted the conditions of return.

1. You MUST bring in the dead fish within 48 hours of purchase.
2. You MUST bring in a water sample for testing
3. You MUST bring in a receipt of purchase

Well, I did none of these things for the obvious reasons of distance, and time between deaths. I figured the photographs would have worked as evidence since they were date stamped. When I pushed the individual on the phone of my situation, I was told the return policy is on the bottom of the receipt who reads that stuff?

Anyway, after two trips to this store and $135 in purchases (plants and fish), I will not be returning.

No better place for fish lovers. Their products are a bit more expensive than comparable places like, say, Petco, but their staff are incredibly knowledgeable and they all seem to care deeply for fish. Everytime I'm there, I learn something new.

Warning: MTS (multiple tank syndrome) is easy to catch here. Watch yourself, or there'll be so many fish tanks in your house that you won't be able to walk.

I would rate this store 5 stars, but the price of everything is significantly higher than you would get at local competitors. Easily 2 to 3 times more expensive. But the store still gets 4 stars for cleanliness, ease of access and helpful staff

I have purchased two juvenile axolotls from here, and they are super happy and healthy! They were the perfect addition to my family, one of the employees breeds them herself and they are in amazing condition! Love love love them. 5/5 would recommend!

Management offered a tour around the store to my daughter's pre-K class and instead, refused a tour or assistance when they arrived at the store. Then claimed the 4 year olds were too rowdy when the teachers later called to complain! They need to respect ALL customers - the class planned to be customers and I was too. No thanks. If management expects perfectly behaved 4 year olds they're nuts. And to promise a tour then say "NO" when they walk in the door? How can I expect good service is management isn't on board with treating ALL customers with respect? Never again. Maybe the Grandview store is better but I will stick with pet stores instead of the watery depths here.

The absolute BEST place to get anything for your aquarium needs on Ohio, no doubt. I tend to go in when they aren't busy but end up staying until they are PACKED! If you're in a hurry, act like it so you can be first in line. Any procrastination will set you back a few minutes. All of the employees are wonderful. They honestly care about the hobbyist. BECOME A FISH CLUB MEMBER! It's SO worth it! Store is ALWAYS clean. Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. They will walk you through the process if you're new. Great selection of freshwater, saltwater, coral, plants, decor, equipment, and tanks. If you have the cash and want to ball out, they do CUSTOM AQUARIUMS!!! I can't stress it enough, this is THE STORE to go to! They have new fish in all the time so you'll likely find something new every trip. Your fish and wallet will be happy you went here. Fantastic place. 10/10, 5 stars, always recommend.

I love the fish here. They're so beautiful, but unless you're just rich and have money to throw around I would definitely not recommend buying anything here.
Everything is about 2 x the price it is anywhere else. Their "sales" just mark the items to near normal retail price.
What did it for me was today my husband and I spent about 1 hour choosing the perfect rocks and other items we wanted. It probably would have totalled to be $500 approximately. I signed up for their lifetime membership and they couldn't find me in their system and had me standing there for 20 minutes while they looked at me like I'm an idiot and holding up the line, which was only getting longer.
Long story short, I walked out without making any purchase over it

If you are into anything dealing with aquariums (marine or fresh) and or ponds give this place a look! Recently I was hunting around for a light and a stand for my new 40 gallon tank, which was puchased here as well. The associate could have pressured me into particular lights and stands, but instead showed me the options they had and let me decide what was best for my build! The other aquarium stores I've been to that are relatively close always give me a feeling of being pressured, or just look at me as a high dollar sale. I've talked to multiple employess about their personal tanks and had great conversations about the builds I have done and want to do. The best part is it feels like a local mom and pop shop instead of a giant franchise. I will only get livestock from this store!

I d give them less than one star if I could. I have been a customer for almost ten years. Going to aquarium Adventure for your aquarium needs is worse than going to Wendy s to get a whopper. There service and selection has gone down hill dramatically in the past couple years. I m done they have lost me forever. I hope your smart and stay away Matt s Corals Service is ten fold better.

While the ambiance of the store was calm and intriguing the employees were generally unhelpful and seemed uninterested. Employees were not enforcing social distancing or mask policies at all.

Also purchased tank-bottom rock which was not only unwashed, but after 30+minutes of washing is STILL producing clouds in the water. The signage around the rocks when we purchased seemed to imply the rocks were clean or required minimal rinsing, as did the instructions on the back of the bag. Had we known we would be spending so much time and effort to clean these expensive rocks, we would have bought them wholesale at a home improvement store for a fraction the cost.

We were customers for the past several years, but now we will be looking elsewhere.

This is the best aquarium place around Columbus tons of choices are waiting for you including both saltwater and freshwater fishes and aqua accesories. Aquarium Adventure is a reasonable if you become a fish member, the initial cost is well worth it if you are a hobbyist. This shop used to have greater variety for true hobbyist, but seems to have adjusted to more commonly stocked fishes you can find elsewhere. Yet, they still stock a greater variety to a small degree than other chains; and their fish are healthy and the staff generally know something about the fish they sell. I think their pricing has gotten better. Today I purchased five Paratalapia Polleni for $65 dollars...good deal on some healthy 2-3 in fish that will be gems! If you have kids just taking them here is a treat for them since they have beautiful display tanks!

They knew everything that was asked.. When helping they would ask you questions about your other fish at home .. Saved me money when the fish i was buying would have eaten most of my fish.. Any other store woyld have sold it to me and waited for me to return to buy replacements...

I was approached by a staff member and handed a mask and was told that per the manage my mask was no good and I could wear theirs or leave.

Per their Instagram post, the store only requires a "Face covering" to shop in the store. I didn't know that I was going to waste my time and gas traveling to this store to be singled out and discriminated against by my "Face covering".

Then insulted by being handed a mask that by someone who probably had dirty hands, could have covid, and or probably has handled his phone (Science has found that cell phones carry 10 times more bacteria than most toilet seats) fish/fish water, or object / surface that someone else has recently touched that could have covid. I also do not know how many other people may or may not have come in contact with the mask that I was handed.

What I did notice while I was there was they did not enforce the "Maintaining 6' social distancing at all times", "Groups no larger than 4 people", and "Maximum of 25 guests total in the store" that is also posted on the same Instagram post.

"Maintaining 6' social distancing at all times". The isles are so small that that people not paying attention bump into you. I even had a staff member not even say "excuse me" or "can I get to where your standing". Instead just kept walking towards me as I back pedaled out of his way.

"Groups no larger than 4 people" Their own staff doesn't even follow this as you could clearly see groups of 5 to 6 young guys group together and to chat about something for a few moments before disbursing. This happened more then once and I remember pre covid this never happened. Store members always at least walked around and asked if you needed help or if you had questions. I felt like I was interrupting the employees class reunion just to get some help. The customer service has declined severely.

"Maximum of 25 guests total in the store" To be honest here, I didn't exactly count the total amount of people. But I was there to get a filter, rock, driftwood, and a lot of fish and did gauge the population of these areas and decide to go first that had the least amount of people. Over all if I had to guess, I would have put money that there were more than 25 guests in the store when I entered. Maybe they have a system to ensure this count, but I didn't see anyone keeping count of the total guests like you see at other establishments at the front of the store.

I was offered curbside pick-up orders as I was was being kicked out of the store. I thought this was laughable as there is a store website, but no online store where you can see all their products, descriptions, quantity or prices. Are you supposed to tell them that you want a specific type of drift word or rock and hope that what they bring out is what you were looking for? I know before I was kicked out I went through ever piece of wood till I found the one I wanted. As I spent the time to look at each piece I was wondering how many people that had coivd also touched these items before me because didn't see anyone cleaning anything in the whole store. Just the group of employees huddled up together telling each other jokes or something.

In conclusion, I was within full compliance of having a "Face covering" that this establishment advertised. I will not return.

Loved my experience! I got four African cichlids, which were reasonably priced for the high quality! Fish might not be as cheap as a coperate business, however, your paying for quality. Fish have been in the tank for less than an hour, even after a two hour car ride home, and then an hour waiting while I rescaped my tank. Couldn t resist after seeing the high quality! Great selection, freshwater and saltwater. All fish were healthy except one Oscar. Also picked up tiger shrimp, which I ve never seen located any where else! Very excited to have discovered this store, and will be going back when I set up my new tank!

I been a customer since 2002 this was the second time I purchased a aquarium with stand..upgraded to 75 gallon, although had a small issue with the wooden stand I purchased, they swapped for a floor display unit with minor scuffs!
Before leaving the store they asked me to check the aquarium, if I had also taken closer look at the stand, all this could have been avoided and taken care of at the store.

Overall I'm happy with my purchase and will continue to shop at AA!

The store is very clean and the fish are very healthy. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable... If you can get them to help. I walked in and explained to them that I was new to aquariums and hadent tried live plants yet and didn't know any extra steps needed. I was told that the plants were in the back and was immediately left in my own. After wondering around for a while I started asking different employees for help and felt like I was annoying for being ignorant with live plants. I was ready to buy everything from tank equipment to fish from here, and by the end of my trip I only wanted the tank and could not wait to leave.

A very nice store and good selection of fish and very helpful employees,
but I am giving a low star review because they do not accept Visa Gift Cards i was told this on 12-26-17. I ask for the gift cards for Christmas so i could buy fish for my 55 Gallon aquarium but i can't use them at Aquarium Adventure. I guess i will have to shop for fish at another store.
