SIMPLY DELICIOUS! THE Culinary Institute of America is a great school for aspiring chefs as well as a wonderful stop for dinner, sweets and a nice visit to the campus. Check out the other 3 restaurants on campus as well. You can't go wrong.

I finally had an opportunity to eat at the Culinary Institute and I enjoyed it very much. I was pleasantly surprised that we did not have to wait on a long line to be seated. My wife, mom and I ate lunch there. We had the Turkey chili as an appetizer and a Turkey sandwich, roast beef sandwich and the avocado mash as the main dish.. All the dishes were very good. While I understand this is a world renowned cooking school, I was surprised that the bill came to $80 for lunch. This did not include any drinks or dessert. Service was friendly and good. The food came quickly. The campus is beautiful and there is plenty of parking available. Lunch is served from 12:00 to 5:00. There is also a souvenir shop next to the restaurant. It was a real treat to to be able to visit such a famous cooking school. I hope someday to eat dinner there.

I went here yesterday to go visit the CIA for the college tour and Anne Berell. The campus is beautiful and my mom and I went to the bakery and sat down to eat. I ordered the Tennessee Fried Chicken Sandwich which was amazing, and she had the Ramen coated pork sandwich.
Everything was amazing and I can t wait to come back one day for another visit before college.

Very disappointing. From service to food taste and presentation was not what you'd expect for the CIA. Went out of our way traveling to enjoy lunch there. Mac & cheese...noodles were overcooked, cheese sauce thin and not flavorful. Fried brussel sprouts very salty..dipping sauce was tasty. They did comp sprouts. Salads were good but nothing exceptional. Caesar was a misnomer should rename it. Vinaigrette tasteless. Server was I'll prepared and not very engaged. Had to ask for a comment card. Apple pie was very good. Must say I was also surprised that the manager was also not very watchful of the students. He did apologize and compted us but never checked back on us or anyone else. Thought they might be freshman but was told by server she was a sophomore ready to graduate.

The food is excellent. I only went to the take out side to get a cake and some bread. The staff are all students except for the gentleman at the register. I'm sure the students are excellent chefs (afterall this is the CIA), but their social interactions are sorely lacking. The man at the register is delightful and funny.

I can, however, vouch for the bread and the blackout cake. Delicious!

What a disappointment. I haven't been in 2+ years and I won't got back unless I want a coffee and a cookie. They don't even prep the bagels for you!! What is this, a gas station? No the Culinary!? I mean, I get one Philadelphia Cream Cheese container that is so cold it won't spread and 1 Cabot tab of butter that is literally frozen. I HATE going somewhere and not getting my bagel prepped. I hate even more getting wasteful packaging individually wrapped when the CIA can whip yummy local butter and good cream cheese not the crap made by Philadelphia brand. The other pastries, well they were mediocre. My spinach and goat cheese brioche turnover was okay but the filling was a little dry and too small for the size of the brioche turnover. Everything was just EH. Though the coffee and OJ were yummy! Anyway 2 years ago I had a delicious waffle and a great experience. I was disappointed that I brought my friend today and it was a bust.

Not at all up to the standards of the other CIA restaurants. Their pastries *look* gorgeous, but most of them I've tried have had terrible texture (and are usually stale), to the point where I've thrown them away half-eaten. (Their donuts are shockingly bad!). And I ordered a "potato and three cheese burrito" which was nothing but egg, with one *single* potato chunk and a teaspoon of melted cheese at one end. Why is there no quality control?? The food served in the dine-in portion of the cafe is decent, but the one time we ate there, the seating hostess was ridiculously incompetent.

Overall, it was a great experience. Hope, our server was very hospitable and kind. My family and I ordered the shrimp curry, Mac and cheese, grilled cheese, apricot dessert, and blueberry corn dessert (forgot the official names). Mostly everything was delicious, but the Mac and cheese was a bit too salty and we didn t enjoy the blueberry corn dessert.

Great food and service. A great experience all the way around. If your used to shoddy NY service this place will remind you of what good service is. Plus the food is incredible. If you appreciate good food you will love this place. What's good? Everything. Baked goods, pastry, artisinal bread, esspreso, french fries with truffle oil and sea salt, macaroons, sandwiches, soup, salad. Arrive early in the day cause menu items run out as the day goes on.

The Thanksgiving pies and savory sides are difficult to describe...

It was a wonderful experience to have this special occasion catered with the most delectable and delicious foods from APBC. Everything had the perfect amount of flavor and the portions were generous. I was truly amazed and impressed with everything from the mashed potatoes (delightful), stuffing, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, gravy (excellent!), and the pies and cheesecake (exquisite). Thank you!

The food was delicious and the new decor was beautiful. However, service stunk!! We were seated, and we had to ask for menus after about 5 minutes. There were probably 10 waiters walking around, and only 3 other tables seated, yet no one cared to give us menus until we asked. Second, I m not sure who my server was. At random times all different servers would come up to me. Very disorganized. One would fill my glass, and then another would come up with a new bottle of water because they didn t know we already received water. Confusing because the servers helped out wherever and whenever they pleased. Did not like how there would be crowds of servers standing in the corner chit chatting. Kitchen was slow, took 20 minutes to get a salad and a simple turkey sandwich. Very mad when I ordered food to go. I specifically ordered the Delta Chicken sandwich WITHOUT delta sauce, and when I opened up my sandwich at hope I found none other than the sauce I specifically asked to be omitted. Food was good but not worth coming back for crappy service!

First time coming here I have to say it was good. The pastry/dessert is amazing... Hubby and I split the Bourbon Bundt cake....so good couldn't even get a pic of it .It wasn't overly sweet and had this cream cheese frosting dollop...so good. My husband had a reuben which was good, nothing extraordinary, we had truffle fries which were awesome, had the right pinch of salt, but I ordered a crab cake which I was very disappointed. It was one cake which was big by itself, it was so bready and hard on the outside it was just odd.... I thought for this to be a culinary place it would be more Maryland crab cake like, but it was not. If your really into crab cakes I would defintely skip it. I am not sure if it was just off since we got them right before closing. The Mac and cheese was something we tried also , it's not a southern mac and cheese but it's a very nice combination of cheeses that are used, it's a gourmet mac and cheese, only suggestion is that it could be more seasoned. If in the area I would come back, or if you pass through it's cute experience and spot to come too. Focus more so on bakery items. The staff was super nice.

This is the best ever! Expert service no wait, like $3 for muffins, scones, cookies. My dad had the crab cake which was the best ever, fresh crab flavor, huge portion for $10.50. My Mac and Cheese with aged Gruyere was intense and has a crunchy topping to contrast the creamy cheese and pasta. Great value. Great experience.

The smell from this bakery starts as soon as you walk into CIA. We got the Milk and Cookies- brownie bits, sweetened condensed milk, Chantilly (fancy whipped cream), brown butter pastry cream housed inside an edible chocolate glass with macaroon cookies inside
No words- what a fantastic dessert. Our first spoon full grabbed a bit of the condensed milk and a macaroon cookie. The second spoonful grabbed the brown butter pastry cream. The third spoonful grabbed the brownie bits. The final spoonfuls had all three elements combined to make a wonderful dessert. The fun part was breaking the chocolate glass without making a mess the chocolate was covered in thick blue edible powder.

We have been visiting the Apple Pie Bakery for several years when we visit family in the Hudson Valley. This is our first visit since the remodel and I'm not impressed. Very disappointed that you can't order everything from the menu if you are getting food to go (something the former bakery allowed). There are two menus and some of the items on the to-go menu aren't actually available even though it says it should be...food was okay, but nothing I couldn't do myself as it was in a cooler and felt similar to a cafeteria.

The food was delicious (with exception to the chestnut donut, the icing was hard and thr butternut cream filling was soupy and not at all sweet) and service was to notch.

The vanilla lemonade was amazing and the truffle fries are one of my favorite things there. It would be nice if the staff would back off a bit on asking if the food was okay. In the 40 mins we were there we were asked about 5 times if everything was good.

I have been stopping in the Apple Pie Bakery for over 15 years. I have never been disappointed until yesterday. I chose a cream puff filled with lemon cream and raspberry jelly. The lemon flavor in the lemon cream was non-existent and the cream puffs with the jelly was pure jelly it was unappealing putting approximately 3 tablespoons of straight jelly in your mouth. At $7 for the pastry and not enjoying it it was disappointing . However I will say that whenever I have guests visiting the area I make a point of taking them there and have always been pleased I have not tried the new table service yet but it looks fancier than the previous casual setup.
