It was a great adventure. Every year before school family tradition to see amateur night. The family enjoys the talent and commarderi of the environment and the people.

A legend even though the white folk have taken over

Emblematic place in a neighborhood that preserves its essence.

It was my first time inside this building. I went to go see Santa Claus. And wasn't actually on the stage so I can't comment on how the theater itself looks but I did see lots of pictures of famous Africa American people who I'm assuming got there big break from being a performer at the Apollo theater. However my children and I did see Santa and were given a free face sketch of ourselves and some limited edition cinnamon Coca-Cola so it was fun.

We arrived a little absent-minded on a Wednesday at "Amateurss Night" without knowing very well what we were going to see or what kind of show it was, since we were walking around the area and decided to go on the march. The show started being entertained by a DJ and as people entered, the atmosphere became livelier. The total duration of the event was about 2.5h, and we found it incredible. You laugh, you dance and being a talent show, you can see a little of everything, dance, choreography, singers, etc. It is very well entertained thanks to its presenter, the live music band is quite good and the selection of people who participated in the amateur contest were quite high, we did not have any embarrassing moment. Who wins or loses is decided by the public, so it is quite interactive, that if I warn you that you are going to end hoarse. 100% recommended

Being a senior has it's perks a beautiful historic place to visit ;the show was everything,the staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly .

Seating is always perfect. No matter your section. Historic. All the shows I've ever gone to there I love. Recently went to see Smart, Funny, and Black by Amanda Seales. Fantastic show!

Show worth the detour. The meaning of the show has the American makes sense.

Stale popcorn, sits uncomfortable, show didn't start on time. First come patrons were sitted on top. Very disappointing.

Everything I expected and more. Lots of fun in Harlem.

Hv not been there in a long time went for new jack concert all the performance is excellent. But the sounds system was terrible! The seats was terribke uncomfortable if u hv long legs please get alae seat! If u heavy get the balcony up on the side. I mean those seats are very uncomfortable!

Emblematic theater, if you visit NYC you should go there. They have also a shop inside.

You can feel the spirit of this place hanging in the air before you even enter it.

Terrific time, I literally put my phone down for the whole performance because I was so in to it, so unfortunately no pics. Honestly one of the highlights from my trip

It was the finals of amature night for 20 thousand buks. I dont think the person that won was the best. But that life.

It's where so Many up and coming Stars went to perform and the Audience were there First and Only Crowd that were allowed to Judge new acts and if the act or person that was performing badly...

They'd stand up and Boo, then begin in sync to give the hand gesture to throw em off the Stage and #ThE SandMan# who was dressed in a Clown type Suit including #BigRedNose and oversized Clown Shoes would Sweep the performer on the rear end with his #Straw Broom until they were off the Stage... A place where being Honest was #1 on their list.

Everyone is so friendly and it was so wonderful to attend amateur night at the Apollo. Look out for Shai Monae she was great!

All of the major stars come to the Apollo at aome point in their career.

Beautiful venue. It lives up to the legend. Amateur night is a high energy show that's unlike anything else I've seen. Make sure you're ready for heavy audience participation.

I love it!!! But those seats are too small even tho I had really Good seats. 20 mins in I had to go stand in the back.. The seats need to be remodeled.. the Ojays had you on your feet anyway. Love you Eddie!!!!

Beautiful theater but sound system needs a lot of work. I've seen a few shows here and it has a tin quality with overdrive and feedback. Comfy seats.

I was very wonderful experience and uplifting as far as the history of it so I was very excited about the whole thing

Historical place, but located in a dangerous region

Was Visiting NYC and had to stop by this Legendary place n didnt realize gift shop would be open. Great Souvenirs from there

Great cultural event place, very professionally run. We always have a wonderful time, for all events we've attended. Love the place & organization.

This place is so full of musical history that I could not go to New York without stopping. Unfortunately I could not get in, but the emotion was there.
