Fantastic to know all those who played sung here and immerse themselves in the history of music. Seeing the names on the floor at the entrance of famous people who were part of my lived story and soundtrack was really exciting

Went to amateur night on Wednesday! Live performances; great band; hilarious comedian host Capone and male vocalist MrClayHaynes in first place with an amazing performance!! Two thumbs up! I will be back!

Mr Apollo gave us a wonderful tour even though he had a family emergency to go to. It was only 4 people and he still took the time out for us because he knew we weren't from there. I have grew up watching the Apollo every night on Saturdays so going there and being on stage was very warming and meant so much to me.

For culture, excitement, and a place for all people but especially a grand place for people of color please visit.

It is always a beautiful educational thrilling exciting place to be alone with family and friends I can go there every day and always be excited to be there

"Amateur Night on Wednesday night at 7pm" Not to be missed in the heart of Harlem. Fans at the top, with a DJ that perfectly animates the early evening and especially the evening host who keeps cutting lovers lol. A massacre. Frankly we had a great evening. We will return. May 2014

Beautiful building, great service and atmosphere, awesome sound

It's the Apollo! Awesome historic site. Closed on Sunday's but the lobby is open and you can rub the stump for luck. There's a mini walk of fame outside that makes great pics.

A very cool and amazing historical location, there is such a interesting atmosphere, where you want to go up on sage and sing or preform.

I really liked the acoustic of the place, and the beverage prices were more affordable than other places of the sort, I'd go back.

Oh my gosh! How amazing! It was great to be in this beautiful, historic theater and so much fun! The show was absolutely fantastic! Almost 3 hours of entertainment! What talent was on display! Although the audience participation was fun, I do think the group was harsh to two of the contestants, not even really giving them a fair shot to perform. That's the nature, risk, and hazard of the performing at the Apollo, though, I guess. Performers beware! It is not always fair or for the faint, feeble, or weak, so work on your rhino skin! A "no" from the audience at the Apollo doesn't mean that you're no good or you didn't deserve better. A different night and it could turn out totally different! No complaints, though. The whole experience really was great. I would definitely go again, and most certainly recommend the experience to anyone. Another fun tidbit is this: if you get there early enough and you post something on social media using their hashtag, it will show up on the big screen, so get your camera ready! Have fun! #AmateurNightApollo

The best thing I did while I was on vacation in NYC.. it was better than watching on tv. Fun times..great memories made.

They took my bottle of water while cheking in. No apologies, no excuses, "It's the policy of the theater. No beverages, including water, allowed to be brought in". Shouldn't this policy had been announced earlier, while booking?

You just have to have had a seat in one of these chairs to be reminded of this day forever whenever you hear "Apollo theatre" on TV or in the news. It's like you are being part of history.

Once you set a foot in, you will feel the historical atmosphere all over the place right away

The Apollo Theater has been a staple in my life since I was a child. This iconic venue was comfortable and entertaining.

Historic and super important institution in New York city and Harlem. Not a mainstream tourism spot and that's great, well worth the visit just to see it and read the names of the greats that have performed there and contributed to the success and importance of the Apollo.

Its everything you'd imagine it to be. Beautiful Black History!

The seating is really cramped, not much leg room and I'm not a tall person. Otherwise it's a beautiful classic theater.
