Fly fishing! Loved it, thanks to our guide. He provided all the gear, including chest waders. His expertise (plus hot coffee and scones) won us over!

One of the best fly shops I have ever been to. Lots of gear and knowledgeable staff.

I wanted to take my fly fishing to a new level so with encouragement I hired a guide from Anglers Covey Full day for two individuals. I have never fished with a guide before. Justin Brenner was recommended; a few weeks prior to the date we had a few phone conversations to ensure I was getting the experience I wanted which was to learn and improve my technique. We opted for still water at Spinney. In short I learned some new techniques, had a great time and I feel very confident that if I am not catching fish no one else is either. Justin was a great guide he treated us more like friends and did not have the high and mighty I am the god of fly fishing attitude. BTW he packs a mean sandwich, though we were having so much fun we were like kids and did not want to stop. Biggest take away I feel like I can cast in into the wind or cross wind with the best of them. Oh yes a Justinism "let the reel do the work". Expensive yes worth it yes. You get what you pay for.

The staff here is always pleasant and knowledgeable. They ve always been very helpful with the fly tying questions that I come to them with. They also have a fantastic selection of fly fishing gear and fly tying materials.

Best fishing store I've ever been in. The staff was friendly and helpful with getting me my fishing license. The selection for flies and bait is over the top. Clothes selection is the same way. If you're into fishing, this is a place you need to go too.

Attended a great intro class at the store (4hrs long). Jon was the instructor/guide, nice guy, knowledgeable, nice class structure.

I just picked up fly fishing again this year after a 20 year break. What a difference this shop made in starting my out on the right foot so I could truly enjoy the experience this time. They staff is awesome. Super helpful and not always trying to sell you something. Their suggestions have all been good.

I have also gone on 3 guided trips this summer and all 3 guides were great.

Their rental system for gear is reasonable and they do a good job of making it quick and easy.

All in all this is truly a great shop and one that will have my business for years to come.

We recently stopped in on our way back from fishing and were amazed at the selection, but we were more impressed by the customer service! They researched every question we asked and gave us ideas on technique and materials to use! Truly amazing customer service!

During Labor Day 2013, while in town for the USAF Academy Parents weekend we secured a fly fishing guide from the Anglers Covey. The guide was Kyle, and he was a priceless part of an amazing day. He was very accommodating, understanding and a knowledgeable source for teaching fly fishing and the local area. He made this one of the highlights of the trip to CO. Recommended for all who wish to try an adventrous, fun and truly amazing day...

Over priced stuffy fly shop where yahoos and wannabes are instructed by young guides who mock their clientele.

My brother loves to fish and when my dad told him there was a place to buy fishing stuff in Colorado he fell in Love with the your store

Actually we visited Pikes Peak Outfitters to rent tandem kayaks. They seem to be using the same staff as Angler's Covey. Super staff, strict about using masks in the store (good for them), very helpful.

You know a place is arrogant when they take the time to argue with all the negative reviews. Just recently went into the the store, was getting ready to buy a couple things, granted not high end, but a purchase none the less. John was helping me out until some old dude comes in from the casting pond. John literally stopped mid sentence to go kiss this guys' ass. I promptly set my stuff down and left. The guy behind the counter came out to my car to apologize and excuse John. I ended up going up the pass where we bought two pairs of waders, a reel, leaders and a bunch of flies. My father in-law bought a rod and reel as well. Good job Covey, you've lost a whole family of customers and whoever they end up telling.
***10/27 I knew you'd have some kind of excuse. Everyone that knows the Leinweber's said I'd get this kind of response. You got the story wrong, this didn't take place at the casting pond, that would have been way more understandable. The old dude was in the shop and John turned around mid sentence to help him, pretty big difference.
I support tons of small business in this town, just not the ones staffed with cocky asshats. If you really looked at my reviews, you'd have seen plenty giving kudos where deserved. Maybe John should've taken a hard lesson from his young employees across the street on customer service. Ironically it was the employees, not John who got the 5 stars. I wonder if John's customer service had anything to do with the failure of his business, Blindside. And... what the hell do his daughters have to do with anything??

Anglers Covet is the reason I'm fly fishing today. I took an intro course here and they were too knotch. Didn't try to up sell or rush the instruction. My guide was beyond excellent.

The first time I went in it didn't take very long for someone to come help us so I thought that was pretty cool, he is very knowledgeable, I was trying on some Simms waders and Boots. I ended up not buying anything that day. I went in today to buy my waders and boots and possibly some other things and no one acknowledged me for about 5 minutes so I had to go grab someone to help me. That is the only reason I gave it a four star as I shouldn't have to go look for someone to help me and it wasn't that busy. After that, the guy that was helping me was very nice very polite and pulled out multiple things for me to try on and got me into the correct stuff that I was looking for..

First time in awesome experience! My son had a great time as well and was given some goodies for the tackle box!

Staff is kind, knowledgeable, and take the time to assist you! All around excellent experience! Prices seemed fair as well!

Hopper Juan is the best guide in Colorado! It was a slow day but we still caught a few, worked on casting form and mending. You re a great coach, Juan!!

My husband and I stopped in on a whim on our way out to fish, and couldn t have asked for a better shop! Rachel was incredibly knowledgeable and helped us pick a fishing spot for the day, and another gentleman helped us select flies and even helped us work out a knot we had been wanting to perfect! Great selection of gear and flies, and super friendly staff who went way above and beyond! Got a super cool hat and fly box I hadn t seen anywhere else. Unique selections and awesome people!! Highly recommend!!

Awesome guided trip with Juan Ramirez. Caught a ton of 15_17" brown trout. Great trip!

I have hired them in the past to introduce my boys to fly fishing. If you are new to the sport or want to introduce someone to it, hire them to guide. They will make the experience unforgettable.

The thing I like most about Anglers Covey is there customer service. I went into the store today, looking for a lightweight fly rod for small water. A salesman named Scott, after hearing what my limited budget was, addressed my needs exactly. Everybody says they are about customer service but these guys do it. I have had similar satisfaction with another salesman named Steve. I cannot recommend these people enough. They carry extremely high-end equipment all the way down to more affordable, yet quality stuff. Don't change.

Everything you need for fishing, fly tying, wading, floating, whatever. Also locally knowledgeable staff for fishing recommendations.

My wife bought me a float tube at Anglers Covey many years ago when they were still on Colorado. Kurt and Kent -the original owners- had sold the biz to the new owner. Anyway, she came home saying she almost had to ring up the sale since the two guys that worked there ignored her. I guess their conversation was more important then asking the 'ignorant woman' staring at them across the counter. 'Pardon me, can I get some help here?' When they did finally acknowledge her, the ey made her feel ignorant. Well hell she wanted a flat tube and needed advice. Sheesh.

I bought rods, fly gear, tying materials, tools, rented rods and took tying classes at Anglers Covey when the brothers owned it. I've bought nothing after the float tube fiasco. What the other one star posters said totally jives with what she experienced. I don't expect anyone to KMA when I walk in, but "Hello. Can I help you?" is pretty basic. Their loss.

Great service, great prices, great selection. Staff is always friendly, and super helpful. I have visited several times over the past 3 yrs. Always the staff are friendly, always are the helpful.. and if they don't know the answer to your questions, they find out. I thought it might be a "pricy" experience, but not at all.. very competitive pricing.

Im not one to write reviews, it takes up time I could be out fishing! However, my experience at Anglers Covey was so surprisingly pleasant that I wanted to tell the world. If more stores acted this way, it would be a more enjoyable experience for those of us who are annoyed by an overly enthusiastic sales person that follows you around, and/or music that is not only too loud, but would only be enjoyed if the shopper was inebriated. And even then, it is questionable.....

They also offered a wide array of clothing for women that was also displayed nicely, not merely shoved into some corner. I loved that the staff was interactive in a non-egotistical way, they honestly offered genuine concern and helpful ideas to my questions as I had what some people may refer to as, 'dumb questions' , but when I asked them nonetheless, Scott, the clever associate, was very helpful, and fun, increasing not only my further questioning, but the amount of money that I spent!

I highly recommend this store, the best of quality gear they provide, and the wonderful staff!

Moved up from Oklahoma City and needed a place to get gear and info on local waters the staff really helped me out with finding spots to fish. When the license machines were down they did everything they could to make sure I got my license. These guys go above and beyond to make sure you feel at home in the store. I have been greeted every time I have walked in and have been helped every time without having to ask.

Equipment, clothing, instruction and all things related to fly fishing. Knowledgeable personnel, well organized and clean facility.

This place is a wonderful outfit! very knowledgeable staff.. and they offer a huge selection of high quality gear. Angel up at the front was there at 6am each day I went. He was so kind in helping me with fly rod and rig / fly selection set up.. he was awesome! I hired Rick B for a day of guided trout fly fishing.. picked a great gold medal fishing spot on the south platte and knew all the good spots.. super sharp sightings. Rick is a top notch guide! I had an amazing time, and hope to be back to use your guiding services again. Thank you !

New to Co Springs and after looking up fly shops in the area and based on reviews I decided to go to Anglers Covey to purchase a few items and get some info/advice on local fisheries. I walked in and started to look around and despite 2 employee's not being busy, I was not asked if I needed help. I spent another 15 minutes in there walking around looking at their inventory and did not get a second glance from any staff members since they were too busy playing on the computer and their phones. Needless to say, I did not purchase any of the items I had gone there to purchase. Definitely will not be a customer at this fly shop, and it's a shame since it's only a mile from me.

Edited - 10/23/15 - Against my better judgement I decided to go back to this fly shop to see if my first experience was a fluke. I needed to purchase new line for my reel. There was only one other customer in the store, and even though I spent a good 10 minutes in there walking around, I was not asked if I needed help until I decided to walk out the door. I informed the employee that this was another experience of being ignored in their store, and I'd find a fly shop that wants my business and enjoys helping customers.

Apparently if you don't dress snooty enough or wear fly fishing clothing, the staff there judges you and will not offer assistance.

If you desire good customer service, avoid this place at all costs. I've definitely made up my mind now after multiple bad experiences there, I will never again step foot in this business.

I came to Colorado from Washington to visit a friend, and decided to drop into the fly shop by her house to see if I could set up a guided trip. I had none of my gear with me, and am pretty new to fly fishing (less than a year). Angler's Covey set me and my friends up with a fantastic guide, day fishing licenses and gear for a very reasonable price. Our day on the water with Anthony Surage was amazing! We learned so much and I caught my very first fish ever (and second & third). It truly made my vacation and I will never forget it! Thank you so much!!

The best fly fishing store in the US. They have everything you could ever dream of there, either to make your own or ready made. They have 1000's in all colors and sizes. Prices are on the high side, but if you need it they have it! Super nice guys work there too.

Awesome place and very helpful staff. Purchased a spinning reel and they gave me advice on which line to spool for the species I was going out to fish for.

Just moved to the area. I lived 5 mins from the store I came in with a friend to look at stuff next thing I know I'm buying Ice fishing setups then a fly fishing set up and have been coming here almost 3 times a week the staff answers all my questions I have and even recommends me to little kits they can customize amd put together. Will be getting all my gear here even if it cost more but I highly doubt it will best prices I seen so far are at this shop A+++

I rented three kayaks and one stand up paddle board from here and the process was fast and easy. Employees were friendly and helpful too! Thanks for letting us rent them to have a good time ! Will be back soon !

I flew in for a week of fishing, and decided to check out their shop. Their shop is one of the best I have ever been to. Very clean and organized. They have a very large Simms collections of merchandise. I ended up being greeted by a sales person named Tim. I really only wanted information and tips on where to fish. Not only did he provide me with that, I ended up buying a new pair of Simms waders and boots. On top of that, he was able to do a guided trip for me within the hour. He took me to an amazing spot of his, and we had a blast catching those rainbows. Great shop!

My wife booked a full day guided fly fishing trip for my birthday and now I'm hooked! My guide was Earl Hecker who was a great guide and made the trip very enjoyable. I caught 4 trout and lost 4. I'm in the process of buying my own gear and booking another trip!

Bought a rod, reel and gear....and more gear, all from Angler's Covey. Every time I step foot into this place, every single person is extremely helpful. They will spend time to explain and educate me on everything fly fishing. I've never experienced a place where all of employees are so helpful and very knowledgable. I've been out fishing four times so far since my guided trip and because of what I've learned from Earl and the crew at Angle's Covey I'm catching trout every time I go out - best day was 9.

This is one of the greatest fishing stores in the USA. They have a friendly extremely knowledgeable staff that truly wants to help you catch fish. We (33 others and myself) did the corporate guided package. We had a great time. It was very well organized and very relaxing for all anglers. Everyone from the first time fly fisher to the experienced angler had a good afternoon. I can't say enough positive things about this excursion. We will be back next year!

Every staff member was helpful and friendly. They gave us a lot of useful tips and info on local fishing. We got everything we needed for our fishing trip here. Rentals a and returns were super easy and not over priced. They let us pick up our rentals the night before so we could get on the water earlier. Overall a great experience.

Do not expect anything as far as normal fishing eqpt. Here, it is all strictly fly gear and the staff is rude when asked for anything they are unaware of.

These anglers know their waters! They told us some awesome spots to fish and the best flies to use since we are from the East Coast!
