It's in the middle of nowhere so a once in a lifetime time opportunity. Right in the middle of the desert. Be prepared for a 3 hour drive if you are coming from Dubai. The rooms were all Arabian themes and very comfortable. Also be prepared to loosen your wallet. Everything is expensive here but you pay for the experience. Food was good. Huge pool. Best time to visit is between Nov to March. Was not happy with the fact that we had to pre order our dinner 24 hours in advance and also decide on the time. It's won't be the case for all guests but we were a group so were asked to do so. A 5 star restaurant should be ready for a unexpected large order.

A fantastic resort.. An amazing experience..

A fantastic resort.. An amazing experience..

10km deep into the Liwa Desert, this resort by Anantara is completely surrounded by golden sands and some of the most amazing picturesque sand dunes..

We stayed here for a couple of nights towards the end of our Abu Dhabi trip last year. It's about a 3 hour drive from Abu Dhabi itself, and when you get close to the location, you need to go off the main road, and travel about 10km to this resort in the middle of the sand dunes.

When you arrive at the entrance, your almost in awe of the amazing palace like entrance and the views surrounding this vast resort.

We stayed in a Deluxe Terrace Room, which comes with an outside terrace. You can see the photos on the Anantara website.. but I must say the room was fantastic and the view from the terrace even more so..

The lobby area is on another level.. loads of ornaments and decorations, a library, and shops all to make your stay even better. Considering the resort is in the desert I suppose they need all the facilities on site, as there isn't much chance of you getting out anywhere to do other things..

Hotel provides activities such as desert safari, quad biking etc, so there is plenty to do..

The service provided by the staff was fantastic.. we were made to feel very welcome during our whole stay.. extremely friendly staff throughout the hotel and restaurants.

The restaurants were a little pricey for the variety of food that was available.. but I guess that is expected when there is nothing else around in the near vicinity.. It's not like we could drive out to town for a quick meal or something..

Overall, we loved this resort.. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone who is looking for something unique.

My all time favorite resort to visit when in the Middle East. Great rooms, great views and great customer service. Beautiful pool. Excellent food which seems to improve with every visit, especially over the last few months. The peacefulness one experiences in this beautiful resort and the sunsets can not be duplicated.

Exceptional hotel and desert experience. Rooms are comfortable although a little dated. F&B is excellent and at the top of its game. As good and varied as the finest hotel offerings yet hours away from civilisation.

It is a place where the sunset is so wonderful that you will never forget it. If you want to see the pouring stars in the night sky, it is recommended to visit at that time. To see the evening sunset, you have to climb a sand mountain in front of the hotel for about 20 minutes, but I was so impressed by the wonderful sunset.

Very good very nice view

Very good very nice view
A small downside on the restaurants which are very excessive in relation to the quality of the meals.
And very excessive price for excursions.
Otherwise the bedding etc nickel

Qsar Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara is a paradise in the Emirates of Abu Dhabi. It is a portion of perfection in the middle of the desert.
The place is amazing, the employees are very polite and discret and they love spoiling us.

I went here for my honeymoon and it was just perfect. An nice escape with nothing but dunes surrounding you. We got unlucky with the weather, but we were still able to squeeze in horseriding and dune boarding. The rooms were beautiful and spacious, with an enormous bathtub. I would highly recommend for a romantic getaway!

A whole nother level of Hotel experience (the location is simply magical). I'd personally recommend the time period between November and March where the weather fits perfectly with everything they have to offer.

One of my all time favorite places in UAE. Truly a 5 star experience. I am absolutely in love with the interior design of the villas - everything is very well maintained: the furniture, the decorations etc. We come back every time - this place feels like home . I also went for a SPA which was amazing. The service is consistently great across the entire resort. Highly recommended.

World class in every way. Worth the desert drive and price tag, we spent a night here as a special treat while passing through the UAE and it was the highlight of the country for us. The dunes are a photographers paradise, the food is delicious, the pool is delightfully refreshing, the grounds are impeccable, and the staff anticipate your every need.

Absolutely amazing oasis in the middle of the desert, I'm driving often there from Abu Dhabi just for a coffee on the terrace and to see the sun disappearing behind the sand dunes. Definitely recommended!

Absolutely magical place that rises out of the sands like a mirage. Tastefully designed property, dripping with luxury, allows guests to experience the silence and tranquility of the Empty Quarter while pampering them with exceptional service. We have been going there at least twice a year since 2011. It has become a second home, such is the warmth of the staff.

Great getaway to enjoy sun and sand at their massive, picturesque free form pool.

Hotel in the desert. Its space is nibbled by the advancing sands of the desert with each windstorm. Beautiful ocher colors with an Arab Moorish architecture, ogives in ocher earth, sculted woods, Moucharabieh, swimming pool built in a case formed by palms and the desert..Superbes sunsets ..

A very wonderful resort that I visited in 2016, the experience of staying was exceptional with this architectural masterpiece and an oasis in the heart of the desert
The place, with its elegant historical design, its oases, and the flow of water flow in a pleasant and pleasant voice everywhere. The heritage design is as if you were wandering around in a historical series or movie ..
The rooms have a great view and there are villas with a private pool
It is worth a try, and most importantly, choosing the timing for travel and booking it, in my opinion, is not appropriate in the summer months, but in spring or late summer before winter.
It has activities and safari trips worth trying

Indulge in the finest resort hotel experiences in Abu Dhabi. On the outskirts of Abu Dhabi, the world s largest sand desert the Empty Quarter beckons. Qasr Al Sarab by Anantara rises up from flame-coloured dunes like a mirage, inviting adventure in the most luxurious of styles. Traverse the Rub al Khali by camelback. Dine under desert skies. Unwind with hammam and desert rose rituals at our relaxing Abu Dhabi resort.

Situated about 2h20min from Abu Dhabi, this Resort stuck in the midst of thousands of sand dunes can be considered paradise, since your arrival, if you perceive a differential because of it, so you can move between the room - lobby - restaurants are required golf carts, which you request by phone and in a matter of minutes, one will appear at the door to pick you up. Regarding the rooms, it is worth the option of you staying in the room in the complex villa, which has a private pool in its outer area, a real privacy in the middle of nowhere, out of the ordinary being something never seen. The atmosphere of peace and tranquility of the place is absurdly great.
