Anantara Kalutara Resort & SPA and Avani Kalutara Resort & SPA Review

Very nice area with direct beach location very nice staff and great kitchen. The hotel is a little out of the way on a promontory, one side sea view the other in the lagoon. The cocktails are delicious, the food is excellent and varied. There are plenty of sun beds and umbrellas by the pool. If you like, you can also lie on the beach. Swimming in the sea is a bit difficult as there are undercurrents. But you can swim. A great place to relax. We had room 243, a junior suite with a lot of space, it couldn't be much better!

We spent 6 days at this hotel.
Very good stay overall, we got to know PAOLO on the beach the first day, this one offers excursions at very affordable prices, he speaks and understands French, do not hesitate to go see him or ask for it on the beach!

Excellent service and excellent food other than to the exceptional location. Only issue is vehicle parking and it is management.

Good cozy place for a vacation. Have water sports nearby if needed. Food was average level. Rooms are spacious and clean. Got a considerably large pool area.

Lovely place to chill with your friends. There is a renovation on going. Small banquet hall. Staff looks tried. Lovely garden. Usually not crowded.

Lovely hotel with a very courteous staff. Also great activities on offer including water sports, a zip line, and archery. The food was great too. Highly recommended.

It was a wonderful experience. We occupied 3 rooms 104-108 Staff is so friendly and Nimesh ( front office supervisor) especially was so helpful. was organised very well and kids had a blast taking part in all events.. food was nice and would have wished the rooms to have been a little bigger.

All in all a very nice stay and will be back again for sure.

Staff were very welcoming when we arrived they were helpful sorting out our bags and getting us to our room.
We went straight to the pool which had a spectacular view of the sunset and the beach. The drinks and food were delicious and the rooms were large and comfortable. The interior design of the hotel is amazing and the view around the whole hotel is beautiful.
All round this was a very good stay in a beautiful hotel and would rate it very highly to anyone looking to stay.

Really nice hotel located between the indian ocean and Kaluganga, roomsare very clean , foods were very yummy and very helpful staff in restaurant. Specially thanks all staff therefore very good service and friendly staff.we come back.

Should have had a better spred n buffet.
AC maintenance and TV was not properly working due to technical issue.

Swimming in sea difficult, Pool area lovely.
Breakfast and buffet dinner very good. However when gov tax and other taxes make it more expensive than elsewhere in Sri Lanka.

Delicious cuisine, Services are friendly and accurate. Scenic environment and breathtaking place to stay. Yet there are some minor problems, it will be a better experience especially for the elderly people if they had a lift in the building where the rooms are and their own custom TV operating system laggs quite sometime plus they have space for make stuff better. Overall I had a nice stay there and can rate 5 stars.

Avani Resort and the team are at their best. Extremely humble and very prompt in helping. A lovely place to stay at and enjoy the beauty of the resort. Absolutely perfect place to stay for your holidays or book for the wedding purpose.

From the check in time we were quite unhappy with the service. Had to wait until they prepare the room, also the room service is horrible. Called reception for the menu and had to wait for approximately 90 minutes to receive it. Food isn't much tasty in the lunch buffet, suggest there should be more varieties in the dessert corner. The surrounding are quite peaceful, good place for a weekend get away if they improve their hospitality service.

Excellent service and friendly staff. Good place for group outing with kids.

This place is too noisy even at mid night, bands are playing at high volume till late night and rooms have zero sound proofing.

Came with the lanka hospital colombo branch....everything was superb... super service..specially nimesh from the front office was very helpgul

Amazing place by world famous architect. Unbelievable nature resort. One of the rare ones and a must visit place in one life time. Enjoy holiday and admire the creation preseving nature.

this hotel is awesome.
location is very attractive but comparely hard to reach. take a tuk tuk and it may takes around 250LKR.
the crab curry and seafood dishes are good.

Superb stay...we had a weekend getaway to Avani Kaluthara...it was very facisinatingly refurbished during recent past... the entire stff are very friendly... fooods are superb n they aee very much concern about hygiene ...So overall experience is fantastic... highly recommend ..

Tasty foods, nice ocean view, veey valueble for the money. Food varieties are limited in buffet, but deserts are delicious. Have pool table, chess boards, gym, big swimming pool. Can play on the beach but ocean is very aggressive, and seems like it is deep after 10 ft from the beach, but it is very nice view
