I am reading the book One Minute After Sunrise. I understand it is a necessity, but looking at the photos of demolished homes burning oil tanks. I sometimes wonder.
"Petroleum analysts said a technical problem at a BP refinery in Indiana is causing the spike in Midwestern states....all of this is coming when crude oil prices are at record lows."
Well played, BP. Well played.
This appears surely an intentional harassment to local consumer. Americans ain't so foolish that they dont understand the bloody mess created by BP along with politicians that have vested interest in their personal gains. I have buddies that have worked in 2 refineries before and they told me there is no question that this is deliberate efforts to ruin low prices in Midwest. They also told me it might be possible BP is secretly supplying but not admitting openly, otherwise gas prices will fall immediately. Its about time Americans in every corner of midwest will realize this deliberate mess.
Anyone who complains about anything to do with the oil industry should stop driving their cars, using their furnace, using anything made with plastic, using anything that uses oil, and so much more. BP created job here that got people through a recession. And they continue to employ thousands in a very good manner. It's been here since the late 1890's, so if you live in the neighborhood chances are it was here before you, if you don't like the look or smell, move somewhere else. And for the record, the water from Lake Michigan gets returned cleaner than it came into the refinery. The government controls all aspects of what pollutants are allowed out of the refinery.
You are the reason we are paying almost a dollar more than the national average per gallon. Thanks a lot.
They pay me money to work. I enjoy money. Thank you BP.
Curious how I can apply to be a plant operator here? I completed a course in chemical process operations. But I can not seem to find any information on how to apply here at BP. Please help. Thank you!
The finest in refining, the coolest cooling towers, sweetest crude, not to mention the light end stripper and coker feed. Lots of flare.
Quit Gouging the public and get this refinery up and running at 100% capacity !!!! Central Illinois is,paying $3.00 per gallon and were really tired of it oil is at $40 a barrel a 6 1/2 year low come on people !!!!
4/5 stars because of the absolute stink that radiates from this place.
I realize that we are a carbon-based fuel economy and the refinery is a necessary evil in order for us to have his much gasoline and heating oil Etc as we want. With that being said between the occasional explosions that have cracked a few Windows of mine, the several oil leaks into the lake that I like to swim in, and the stink that permeates my neighborhood when the wind blows out of the southeast cannot be healthy and it is definitely not pleasant. But the refinery was here before I was so I guess if I really just like it that much I should move.
On the lighter note or brighter note, BP has done an excellent job of providing the Whiting community with several nice public Endeavors such as brand new baseball and softball fields, for all ages, as well as a
a brand new prisitine Lakefront area that will Rival any on the shores of nwi.
