Negative -5 The website for the American Red Cross online training is absolutely horrible. I signed up for a class and was sent a lengthy sheet with instructions to get into the course. NONE of the instructions worked. I wasted 2 hours tryong to access the course and am so frustrated. I read other reviews saying the same thing-- this is confirmation THEY HAVE A HORRIBLE WEBSITE.

Become a volunteer of an incredible service organization. The American Red Cross needs volunteers of every background to assist in disasters, home fires, floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc. They provide many on line courses to prepare you for your mission. They support your transportation to and from the disaster. They make helping others easy. You just may meet and work with your next best friend. Volunteer today...call your local chapter.

FYI-Make sure you take a picture of your actual online prerequisite certification prior to taking a class, and don't rely on the Red Cross to email it to you, even if it says it will. After driving in rush hour Denver traffic for +60 min (yay) to make it to this class, I was asked immediately for proof that I did the online portion. Fair enough. It was emailed right? No problem-wrong. No email. I was basically told I have 10 min to figure it out, or I wasn't allowed to continue. Spent time on the phone, logged back in to the online portal, etc, nothing worked. I assured the instructed there is no way that I would be here if I didn't do part 1 first, yet I somehow couldn't get over the fact that I was made to feel like I was lying. 'People have tried it before' yadda yadda. 20 min in to this fiasco I decided to leave annoyed and upset, and spent +20 min on the phone with Red Cross (understandable since the country is environmentally is imploding right now). Long story short, I was told that these things happen from time to time, and I was unfortunately the unlucky one who experienced one of their glitches. Moral of the story: take a picture of your certifaction before you put all of your daily energy into getting this course completed.

Myself and two others arrived promptly for class. Another arrived after a few minutes. All of the building doors were locked and there was no note, phone number or contact information available for the instructor. After confirming date, location, and time of the class and waiting for someone to open the door, we had waited 35 minutes out in the cold. Upon getting in contact with the instructor, she said that we were too late to join and needed to reschedule.

My family has donated to the Red Cross for years. But today one of their staff members was extremely rude and disrespectful. He didn't have a name tag and wouldn't give me his name.
I might have to re evaluate my relationship with this organization and inform my friends of this excepted behavior.

BUREAUCRATIC. SLOW. MADE MY PREGNANT WIFE WAIT 35 MIN IN 20 DEG F.
My wife, my daughter and I scheduled an evening CPR training there. All the doors were locked. We spent 35 min waiting outside with other students. No reception. We eventually got in while other students were leaving. The instructor Stephanie Mori turned us away. She did nothing to help.

Nice and neat facility in a great central area! However training equipment/material has seen better days. The instructor mentioned multiple times that the original teacher had cancelled at the last minute - as such the course was somewhat scattered and disorganized with a number of technical difficulties

Do NOT take any courses from them!! I signed up for a class through them in August and completed the class at the Denver location. The instructor said to expect our certificates within 48 hours via email. Mine never came. I called them and filed a case and no one could give me any answers for weeks. I would talk with one person and they would promise to follow up with me once they knew more and then NOTHING! I kept having to call in and start over at square one because no one ever got answers and reached back out to me. I had all my case numbers, course numbers, etc. to reference everything but never got anywhere. Finally they refunded the class, but I still didn t get my certificate. They said they would get in touch with the instructor of the class to confirm my attendance and get my certificate but never did. I called and called and called and everytime was told they were working on it and would call me when they resolved it. Weeks later I would call back in since I never heard from them. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I needed my certificate for a job and never got it. Don t rely on them to get you what you paid and worked for. I m STILL waiting on a call back from them and it s OCTOBER! I m turning to leaving multiple reviews now because I can t seem to get anywhere going to them. This is a major dis satisfier.

Wednesday my daughter was taking me to the Denver Airport to leave back to Oregon. When my flight got cancelled do to the snow, so driving back to Colorado Springs on I-25 apparently 6 semi tractor trailers jacknifed ahead of us causing the state patrol to close the highway plus all the vehicles stranded on the side of the highway do to the weather conditions (blizzard). So being stranded for approximately 8 hr. And plenty of mother daughter time. The State Patrol had workers cut a great big chunk of divider from south bound to north bound. allow some emergency vehicles through then allowed passenger cars to head up north to Castle Rock, to Douglas County Fair Grounds where a shelter was being set up for the stranded drivers. We arrived and was given cots, blankets and food. There was a lot of people, my daughter jumped up started helping people set up their cots then she got up and helped set up food with the Red Cross Volunteers, I have such a amazing daughter I think she may have found her calling. But I wanted to thank the American Red Cross Volunteers for all that they do. For people in real life disasters. Thank you from the bottom of my heart from Rhonda Oliver and Tyra Hutton.

Call center based customer service (very hard to contact and speak with someone at your local office), Amy the instructor for the First Aid/CPR is not good. There are plenty of other places that offer this (and other) certification courses (for less money). Avoid this place like the plague for a certification course.
