Stole our money and didn't do their job of processing our visa. Now, we have to pay for EVERYTHING all over again. Haven't had so much grief before in my life. Horrible...

Cannot get ahold of anyone at the consulate. No one awnsers the phone you just get a message that tells u to go to a crappy website that does not help
Security guidelines should be more clearly stated on appointment receipts.
FIRST of all, the US consulate has terrible service because they don't seem to tell you anything. Also, they have some questionable decor that makes me immensely uncomfortable. While I had no issues with certain staff members, it was overall an unpleasant experience.
My paternity test has not rested for more than three months. Calling is not without people. It is in the negotiation. I want to know why this is happening. Who knows the complaint call. Tell me about it
90% of the people working there are Chinese
Would think speaking with an American at the American consulate would be an easy process
In the passport, it is estimated that it is the property of the US, and the US itself can refuse entry to anyone at will, and it will be confiscated. The passport is estimated to be a terrorist level.
Why not be an upright Chinese? Who is an American citizen?
my mum has some emergency and need to head back to china take care of my grandma. However, we have some documents needed to be notarized, and therefore my mum bring all those documents to embassy. The documents were simple, just for refinancing the house we live. Unfortunately, thanks for those useless people, they cannot understand any english on those paper. They point out need extra document in order to finish the notarized process. My mum ask me directly, and I called the escrow to get all " unnecessary" documents. Finally, they cannot print out and told my mum go home. This place just terrible. You got pay and don't know any English. That is awesome and now all my documents got delayed. I wish I could leave 0 star
Great service, informative mailing lists for new comers. Processed new born registration without delays.
Sloppy and disorganised. Staff cannot speak English, and gave me contradictory directions as to where I should go. Even though I am a US citizen, its very hard to get into the consulate.
This is really very good. Chinese immigrants to the United States can handle it here.
It is a spacious and long park for citizens to use in Guangzhou. Guangzhou is a commercial city, but there are only a few tourist attractions, but the night view of Guangzhou, like Hong Kong, is beautiful. At the end of the square, the Pearl River flows, and if you take a taxi for 10 minutes to the other side, you will find a pub near the beer factory next to the Pearl River. It is recommended that you visit at least once after dinner!
The man working in CIS on 6/6 was friendly and helpful in filing the I-130 application. Sadly, the consulate still has a lot of improvements that need to be made. I tried calling their number within China and it does not work, however, the number for calling from the US worked. Also, the woman I spoke to on the phone regarding the application status wasn't friendly and was a bit bossy to be honest, so that wasn't really appreciated. Overall, they need to fix their phones and some of the staff could use some lessons on good customer service.
Just sent an email to DC NJ FBI about the issue of ultrasound-induced brain injury in the US Consulate General in Guangzhou.
I hope that these two e-mails will not be intercepted or changed by Guoan, which is arranged by Li Chunsheng, the director of the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department.

more than 7 months and still waiting for the administration processing to resolved. very slowly processing and timeless time waiting.
A very busy, but fairly efficient consulate. There are two lines, one for U.S. Citizens, and one for everyone else. The U.S. Citizen line is very short and fast. The other line .. not so much.
It may have just been the people in line at the time I was there, but the American side of the line, while short, was filled with rude and impatient Americans. The other line, was much longer, but polite, patient, and calm.
As an American, I was slightly appalled, yet proud and thankful to be a citizen of a country where we are free enough to be jerks without fear of prison.
Overall, my visit was slow-ish, but that is to be expected from any visit to a government office with long lines. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Another comment mentioned that everyone there was Chinese. That's totally inaccurate. There were several Chinese-Americans working there, but they all spoke perfect English.
How long does it take to process a damn visa? It has taken me and my fiancee a whole freaking year! You guys are just prolonging our union! Your inability to process a damn visa is just down right horrible and by far the worst service I have ever experienced. Asking for documents that are not to your format but are exactly what you guys are asking and other things that does pertain to the application. Incompetence and a snail's pace my goodness! Your #800 and website are worthless! It was a terrible mistake to have picked you as the country to process our application. Have you no shame on the amount of stress and depression you have given? I see how much your rating is. It sucks! Improve it that you may better serve quickly, efficient. You poor incompetent fools.
The people answering the phones do not have any actual information. They will take their best guess and forward you on to someone else. It took 30 minutes of transfers for someone to finally tell me that they do not offer fingerprint services. This is my third dealing with this consulate. The first two were worse. I wish they would employ capable employees.
It's an embassy where they do immigration visa interviews. My wife said the people were very nice, the staff was helpful.
When I applied for a 10-year business travel visa in 2015, I registered that my previous passport was lost. As a result, the consulate recorded that the current passport was lost, which resulted in the immigration office taking it to a small black room for investigation when I entered the United States. After the final check of the situation, entry was allowed.
After returning home, I reported the situation to the consulate, hoping to correct the error, and received a reply saying that the record of the lost passport has been revoked.
Until this year, before going to the United States for the second time in 2018, EVUS renewed his visa and was told that the passport record was lost and he needed to contact the Chinese passport issuing authority to revoke the lost record.
At this time, the ticket has been booked, and there are still three days before departure. I don t know if it will be possible...
I didn t expect the U.S. consulate to be so unreliable...
Extremely terrible service. I am an applicant of F1 visa. The Chinese staff outside the building were rude to me. They said my visa photo was not acceptable, because of blabla. They asked me to use their photo booth to take a photo, which costs a lot. That's fine. I took the photo with the "official" photo booth. Then the staff told me "Your ears do not show up well on the photo, and you need to take new ones". It really angered me, because my ears look that naturally. I argued with them "Someone with different ears is not allowed to apply for a visa?" They finally let me in. But I feel really discriminated by these rude staff.
I have applied for visa in Beijing and Shanghai US Consulate. This ridiculous thing never happened to me before.
If you can, avoid this horrible place!!
Bloody useless had no clue what to do with K1 applications...
I made a notary appointment and Sarah Healey, the representative who helped me, was very helpful and professional.
All the other employees were also similarly helpful.
The building itself is impressive on the interior, and it's easy to get from place to place.
