I'm not sure if I can give them zero stars since I have never been able actually get anyone to pick up the phone to answer a questing that might take 3 minutes to answer. I've called their customer service number 3 times and was put on hold from between 25 and 45 minute each time until I was forced to hang up because I had to go back to work. I am at this moment on hold again, this time for 109 minutes currently and still no response. I have paid them in excess of $17,000 in premium over the years, you think the least they can do is be available when a customer has a benefits question. On their website it actually states, "Better Outcomes, Lower Costs, Happy Clients..." . Yeah. I have to waste time on a day off to call my insurance company, sound like a happy client?

Insurance is already confusing but add AmeriBen and you have another layer of confusion to work through. I dread having to use any of their software and getting in contact with them is exhausting.

I called on 7/27/2021 and spoke with a lady who was rude, unprofessional, and who eventually hung up with me. The issue arose from multiple lingering billing issues that were not resolved, nearly 8 months after the birth of our son only gotten more complicated and tedious.

The woman did not listen to information I attempted to provide from prior calls and was very short in her lack of empathy to solving our issues.

I have spoken to Ameriben more than several times in the last 5 months and none were this rude and crass.

I authorize someone from Ameriben to contact me regarding this issue.

I don't know why anyone would call them sleazy. I worked there several years ago and the people are great and integrity is lived not just a word thrown around.. Heartfelt encouragement. Sure there were hiccups but that will happen.

Ameriben claims to live by their core values and purpose. Just another job where you re a cog in a big machine. Supervisors don t give a sh*t about you, and just know that any employee is replaceable in a heartbeat.

Watch for fees! I used them to "manage" 401k accounts as required by the plan. I would not use AmeriBen again. They added little to no value throughout our engagement (they'd make us do the paperwork ourselves!) then charged a bunch of fees when we decided to move to another vendor. Customer service didn't even know the company provided the service they provided for us. Can't recommend. (P.S. Only writing this review after finding them to be completely disinterested in my concerns.)

Getting in touch with anyone is an absolute nightmare. They don't answer calls and the online chat function also just perpetually loads because there are no available agents. I even tried the message center and uploaded a document with an explanation of what I needed help with. Just an absolute joke.

It's time for medicare for all. Cut these parasitic insurance companies out of the equation.
