This school really taught me how to self motivate and be disciplined, as well as essential techniques and skills to succeed as an actor. I recommend the school to new actors all the time! And it doesn't matter whetheryou have some experience under your belt or you're just starting out. They help you with everything from technique to resume building~

My daughter just graduated in Sept 2017 from NYC in dance. She had a very positive experience from start to finish! Starting with Elliott Kerr, Assistant Director of Admissions. Elliott did a nice job of answering all our questions and helping get all our paperwork completed. Our daughter loved all her teachers and has said through out her program, "this is the right school for me." I feel like the program and the school prepared her for auditioning and the life of a performer! THANK YOU AMDA!

To all the high school freshman posting reviews and rating AMDA 5 stars stop. You do not go there. Do not give it a bigger head than it already has. Attended in 2013-2014 would have been one star if it weren't for some (a few) wonderful teachers. (Stacy Lee, Kathy, Jeff, Tim,and Ray thank you) I am posting this review because they just posted an instagram post about 13 reasons why. They said check this out help is available. Would have been nice if that was ACTUALLY TRUE. However, if you have any sort of mental health problems you are told to grow up! (By teachers AND THE DAMN COUNSELOR) you are told stories of how the show must go on fake it til you make it. If you cannot stop crying you are weak, and theater is just a hobby for you. The teachers name drop and make you feel bad about yourself for not being Jason Derulo. The only person who helped me get help was my acting teacher (god bless him), who sent me to the counselor who told me I was acting like a child and that I need to prioritize. "If this isn't for you you don't have to be here" I told him this is the most depressed I've ever been. No offer to find therapy near me. No weekly meetings. No follow up visit. He suggested I find a new dream. So I did but now I'm 25,000 dollars in debt after 9 of the worst months of my life. Like others have said AMDA is what you make it but if you have any sort of mental health issues don't count on getting any help.

PS. The dorms have a large scary roach problem, pretty sure it used to be a mental hospital (how fitting)

PPS. I can acknowledge that I learned a good deal in my acting and VPS classes. And that not all the teachers suck.

AMDA is what YOU make of it. I attended the NY loation in 2006. No one has the same experice or outcome - to each his own. You will be pushed to the limit, but it's your responsibility to go there or not. Make sure you think for yourself and know who you are as a performer..

Just reading about this makes me want to go to this college in 4 or 5 years after I graduate High School. I am only 12 right now but I have hear a lot about this college from my Trio teacher he went there to major in theater, he is really good at singing and dancing, I have see him on the internet. He has told be about this college because I want to be some an actor/singer when I am older. I have been in two acting play as a little kid. I went to Camp Creamery for three years, it had came to my home town. I was in Merlin's Apprentice and The Deadly Dragon, and The Unknowns Freak Out Roswell. Those plays were the best thing that happened to me. That is why I want to go to AMDA College.

The staff is amazing! Wonderful teachers who will push you to the Limit, if you can manage to get through the first year, you will see yourself grow into who you truly are. Fore warning you will get as much from this school as you put into it. NYC will chew you up when you first arrive, but remember fear doesn't shut you down, it wakes you up.
Fair thoughts, and good fortune on your journey.
