David's last night at Ambonnany.
It's not adieu, just aurevoir to Ambonnany as David places stewardship of Portland's finest champagne bar into a safe pair of hands after 8 years. Those of us who have whiled away many an evening here, benefiting from his unparalleled knowledge and focus, will miss our weekly flights, extraordinary tastings and convivial company. Thank you for all of those memories and creating bubble-heads out of us all!

Very fun experience - Champagne & Popcorn, what could go wrong?

This bar provides a chance to try Champagne for any tastes. David is a true expert and serves great flights and glass pours. If you have the chance to chat about your tastes, he can always introduce you to something excellent.

petit, warm, at the bar or table, the rare intimate find, that is not self-conscious itself, it is a great place for a conversation, a pre-function, a cocktail, or late night easy moment to be appropriately quiet.

the champagne list is about 100 labels deep, rich in small producers and a owner, David, who is very accomplished and substantive at guiding you through it. the fun is in "asking".

A small (tiny actually) bar. Good champagne list and the service was fabulous. Food menu is small and mainly snacks.

Great experience! Was very flavorful and informative. Can't wait to come back! Owner Michael treated us very well! He's so friendly and helpful in selecting what suits your palate.

Good champagnes, no tasting flights only pours. Cozy little spot for a nice glass.

Intimate champagne bar. Lovely selection of champagne by the glass and large bottle selection of champagne. Nice and quiet the evening we were there.

I've always had a fantastic time here. It's a comfortable and intimate space, the wine is amazing, and the person behind the counter is incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiasticly helpful. I always recommend this place for celebrating anniversaries or birthdays, it's perfect for having a really spectacular glass or two of champagne to celebrate.
It's a small place so I don't recommend more than four people in a group, though the space can accommodate probably 15 people at a time. If you went when it was very quiet you could probably take the place over with a larger group.
