Amazing Ngapali Resort, Ngapali Beach, Thandwe, Myanmar Reviews

In transit I get $ 180 a night. Looking on the internet I find a promo at 100 per night. I am therefore tempted by the idea of finishing my stay in Ngapali. Going for a drink I realize that the staff is very haughty, not very nice especially if we come from outside. The wifi does not stop coming and therefore difficult to do any research for the rest of my journey. I was looking for calm but children fill the pool from 15h.
The staff puts the tables around the pool from 16h so little accessible while they could wait 17h45-18h early sunset. When I paid my drinks and my meal they went on taxed by rounding the amount of exchange up. Yes taken announced in dollars while I pay in local currency. I can understand, in the opposite case, that if I pay in dollars the rate is rounded up since not only can it change but in addition they have to go to the bank to change the money. On the other hand, since I pay in local currency, I find it unacceptable to pay more.
So I indicate the real exchange rate at the checkout of the restaurant that does not include anything, the waitress brings me a laminating paper to change my money but I did not ask to have dollars, I asked to pay my bill . Then they tell me that they will call the manager, then he will arrive. To make me wait 15minutes and the final make me pay the real price, without ever having seen the manager. I who had already prepared the tip I tidied and left.

This place... Just wow. Love the room, the service, the food, the pool, the beach and the lot. Well maintained - attention to details is quite clear. Great value for money. Bay view has a more personal touch, but this one is also totally stunning. Why do people go to Thailand?

Very good hotel with spacious rooms that lacked any detail and beautiful and well-kept common areas.
Attentive staff especially Chiao Me, who was aware of us at all times, pleasant, polite and friendly.

The hotel is a little run down and bare bones but the beach is fantastic. There should be service (i.e. drinks) on the beach.

Room service took sometime to be ready. The food itself is great. (Some room service items are overly charged , e.g soda drinks and some menu items ) The pool was a bit small but ok.
Mid-range price with all round good , i would recommend.

This hotel really was AMAZING and one of the best we've been to anywhere in the world.. It is not fancy and high-end,.. but just simple and understated. And that is the sheer beauty of it! You get picked up from the airport in an awesome old-skool bus and that's where your holiday begins.
The staff are so friendly and welcoming, they looked after us so well and greeted us with the warmest of smiles!

If you can, I would HIGHLY recommend booking one of beachfront villas. There are few pleasures in life better than
waking up each morning and being able to walk straight out onto the sandy beach!

The villa rooms are not modern, but this makes them charming and they are very comfortable. Massive queen sized bed for a great night's sleep.

The breakfast was plentiful - we definitely put on a few pounds during our stay.

The hotel restaurant can seem expensive if you look at the main a la carte menu but ask for the Asian / local menu.. This is much cheaper and similar prices to tyke local restaurants, plus good quality.

If you want a change of scene, there are 2 good restaurants nearby, within walking distance of the hotel.

Plus there is a shop for buying water and snacks, also within walking distance.

The hotel grounds are so pretty - lovely green gardens and wooden walkways and buildings. It felt so tranquil.

But the highlight of the stay is that incredible beach. Such a quiet one and stunning golden sand with blue waters. This is what we came for!

One little tip... You get a treat (cookies, cakes,..) in your room each evening during turn down service, but make sure you have it quickly as if you leave it uneaten they take it away when cleaning the room next morning! This was a bit frustrating for us as we never wanted to eat more after our dinner and would have preferred to have it during daytime the next day. This was the only negative.. So I think it's safe to say, its not a big deal!

Haven't been to a lot of resorts in Ngapali but I thoroughly enjoyed the stay here. Service and rooms were great and just 10 mins drive from the airport by bus. Room rates were a bit pricey even during off season . Hotel food wasn't spectacular given the hefty price tag, but there are quite a few restaurants near the hotel for better and cheaper alternatives so can't really complain too much regarding the food. Might consider staying here next time if there aren't any better alternatives.

Were a few years ago. The hotel is expensive, beautiful, but there is a problem nearby.

We enjoyed it very much, we were treated very courteous.
What does not move us to a five star rating, the room service.
The rooms were only "fast-fast" and not as we had hoped for the price level - unfortunately! Since everything else was to our fullest Zufridenheit!

The food was very good, as well as the little touches brought to our room, with the weather forecast for the following day.
A person the love "Show Me" (unfortunately I do not know how to write it correctly) has taken care of us very lovingly and always kept an eye on it, so that we have missed nothing. She is the good soul in this house :)

Would definitely recommend it and we will definitely come back to Myanmar when it comes back.
August 2019 - Beachfront Villa

Reasonably sized hotel complex with all the advantages of the seaside, private beach, close to small shops and typical restaurants ... with the legendary friendliness of the Burmese at the reception of the hotel and the villagers.

One of the best resorts we have ever been to.
In the evening there were always homemade warm cookies in the bungalow.

just feels like home and people are very friendly, amazing beaches, and good fish restaurant

So-so. Location is really nice BUT our rooms were very old and in need of major renovation. It stank of something. We complained accordingly and the staff went out of their way. It was generally very friendly and endeavored. You have also received many gifts and amenities. That was really nice. Unfortunately, there is a lack of good top management. Faulty fault, are broken, etc. - many little things that would not have to be if it were well organized. A hotel manager who hides from the guests. Not good at all. Unfortunately, it fails. I'm sorry for the nice staff. 3 stars because it was much too expensive 160 / night. Would not go back.
