I would not recommend this place. We had high hopes for Sunflower Maze but it was nothing of that sort..just a small area that covers the sunflower field. The sunflowers faces opposite of you..so not much to see unless you take the hay-wagon.

Great for families and kids. Lots of activities. Went for peach and berry picking. Found a lot of peaches but didn't get any berries because the bushes were all empty. Prices are more expensive than a grocery store but it's obviously fresh and delicious

Do not go here. It is dangerous. I was there a week ago. I waited 1.5 hours to be able to exit the parking lot. In that time I witnessed 2 fights, 1 car crash and 4 cars stuck in mud. I called the office 3 times and told them that this is dangerous and someone was going to get hurt. They did nothing. A kid died there yesterday.

Visited Alstede Farm today to Pick Your Own and had a great time. We were able to find Gala apples, Asian Pears, Raspberries, peppers, green beans, several varieties of eggplants and tomatoes.

The farm is large, yet walkable. There is a tractor which stops at several locations around the farm and completes a full loop in about 25 minutes.

There are some farm animals which you can feed, events for kids and the family depending on the time of year.

We thought it was on the pricier side of PYO farms, however they do offer a large variety and there is a lot of work taking place to maintain the farm.

There was quite a line of traffic when we arrived there to get in so there was a bit of a wait, but the parking attendants were organized about getting everyone parked. It was a fun day, but a bit pricey. It's $13 to ride on the hayride and do the corn maze. If your child wants to do the other activities like the Bounce House, the wagon train, pony ride, hay mountain, the price increases substantially. I don't remember the exact price because we didn't do it, but it was either $20 or $23. They were fairly efficient about moving people through line to get their tickets and getting people on and off the wagons , Etc.

Amazing adventure picking your own produce straight from the earth! Everything is organically grown! Highly recommend you purchase tickets online to avoid long waits to get in. A lot of the veggies are picked through but with patience and tenacity, you can still find some lovely things. Really cute market with honey, jams, prepared foods, snacks and ice cream.. We cooked an amazing meal made from all of the ingredients we collected from Alstede Farms. It's an incredible place to take the family and enjoy nature.

Received a gift for a wine tasting event. So we arrived to a country store where you can purchase produce and other related items. I must say we were surprised at the condition of this store. The wine tasting was at a counter within the store. You shimmy up to the counter where a person gives you a list of wines they produce to sample. They give you a glass and pour a tasting while you are standing and customers are in line to buy their coffee or whatever. There is no history of the wine or the farm, etc. Picture the old westerns where you go to the bar and the bartender pours your drink. Same thing. We did our tasting in less then 10 minutes. By the way, the wine was terrible. At the end you get to chose 2 bottles of wine from a list. Felt so sorry but, we took them because this was a gift. I have never ever experienced a wine tasting like this ever in my life.

It's a nice day out as the food is fresh and there is a lot to do. Take a walk in the maze or feed the animals after a pick-your-own experience. The only disappointment was the ice cream. It was very icy, not creamy.

The lines are so long ( Sunday, October 7, 3018) that we left. Also, the admission price is 14$ is unreasonable. While waiting 45 minutes in the admission line, I went with my son to the only available food option: 2 food trucks with traditional fried food. A hot dog and a bratwurst( the worst tasting bratwurst ever) 2 small fries and a bag of chips 27$. Overall, felt sorry driving from NYC. Waste of time. Afterwards, we left and went to another farm in the area. With a lot fewer people, we had a much better time.

Fun place for kids but extremely busy on the weekends. Only certain things are free. After a certain point, you need to pay admission to get in, which could get expensive real quick when you have a big family to pay for. Since it was going to cost us close to $100 JUST to get in, that's where our visit ended. It's a farm, not an amusement park. We wanted to pick apples. I didn't want to pay admission so I can pick apples (and obviously pay for the apples). I'll go to a different orchard to pick apples where all you pay for is what you pick. I understand that it cost money to maintain a farm, but the admission fee is ridiculous! I'm surprised the parking was free.

First the good....called them on Saturday regarding delivering firewood and they were able to deliver on Sunday. They were very prompt and professional. The driver delivered the wood exactly where I asked, no problems at all, nice people.

Now the bad. The wood is advertised as seasoned which means "cut down last season" and it has been presumably drying. The wood appeared fresh cut, which was a bit concerning. It also seemed heavy (another concern, heavier wood means more moisture), then came the burn. I have lit about 100 fires or so in our wood stove. I am not an expert but I know how to light a fire fairly efficiently but the wood just smolders and is very difficult to light, I have to keep feeding kindling, but even then it doesn't actually light.

I'll be drying the wood throughout the summer and I am sure it will be fine but you pay a higher price for seasoned wood. I am highly skeptical if this is the product that was advertised.

Really cute farm plenty of things for the kiddos to see and do. Lots of farm fresh fruits & veggies we did the pick your own and its a little pricy because there is admission on top of the cost of what you pick, but the kids were happy so it's worth it.

RIP OFF! DO NOT SPEND $25 per person due to Covid! They do not practice social distancing!!
It s more crowded now with Covid! The bags are so small for the apples and it s hard to find where the different apples on on the map!
People were walking around without masks! They crammed people in the hay rides, total chaos this past Sat. Way too many people considering there is a global pandemic! Disgusted and left early, spent $125 to get aggravated! Don t bother, go to a small farm you ll be so much happier.

My family and I have been coming here for the past 8 years. I've never been so disappointed, until now. Spending $15 for everyone 3 and older, plus an additional $25 for the kids to enjoy the bounce house, animals and etc.. was as bit pricey. Especially, when you have 5 kids. The long lines didn't bother me. I am upset that my kids and I took almost 2 hours to finally find apples, Fuji and Pink Lady (They are all the way at the bottom). We picked a box full. Spending almost $40. We were so excited and couldn't wait to get home. That excitement ended because the apples were not sweet at all. What a waste of money and time. Also, they changed the recipe for the apple cider donuts. They don't taste the same. I'm mad I bought 4 packs. The apple cider is still delicious, which is why i gave 2 stars. I bought 2 boxes of the harvest apple pies. A little buttery, but overall a good pie. I think it's time to go elsewhere. Overpriced admission plus bad apples are not a good combination. Also, the changing station area reeks of poopy diapers.

Clean, fun, and a lot to do. I worked as a counselor and brought a group of 10 kids ages 6-12 and they all loved it. We picked blueberries, but they had tons of picking options, a friendly staff, and a cool education center. They animals were clean and well fed and the food was great. The maze was a little underwhelming but overall a fun day trip.

Alsteade Farms is a very well organized, staffed and maintained property, with numerous fresh fruits and vegetables available. The pick your own fruits and veggies may be a little more pricier than other farms, but you pay for the freshness and the experience. Every penny spent there was well worth it. It is a great place for children and families, because it is more than just pick your own with all the stands, farm animals to feed and products to buy around. The tractor/wagon rides were frequent so we didn't have to wait long for the next available ride. Will visit again in the future.

Had a bad experienced with this orchard very expensive for everything we had to pay. Nothing to pick good from the farm only left over apples. They are making lot of money from the customers. We have to pay for enterance $12.99 each person but for my surprised for above 2 years old kids need to pay same amount of $ 12.99 as adult. Apples $2.39 lbs and also for empty box we need to pay $2. There is also few play activities for kids Need to pay them separately. It doesn't make sense all way coming here from New York ( very far). Better to buy from the store much cheaper. I will not recommend this alstede orchard to everyone. Better to visit another farm no need pay for getting inside the farm only need to pay for the bag...be aware...too much happening here (money minded). Totally not satisfied n not all happy with this farm.

Farm Has fee for everything from entrance to basket etc etc. On top one can only pick and buy not even have a taste of anything they are picking ... people working for them are too rude and discriminate among the locals and foreigners .. I would never ever go back there and wouldn't recommend it anyone at all!!

First and last time, In this place, all very expensive in other farms you do not pay to enter this one, and the pound is too expensive for peaches, you literally pay for what you eat inside ... I do not recommend them!

We have been going to this farm for about 9 years now. I'm not going to lie - it IS expensive, but it's a beautiful farm.
We came back yesterday for the strawberry breakfast and festival. I definitely thought harvest hall was a lot bigger, but luckily we found a seat.
There were so many pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, and a fresh tasting homemade strawberry sauce. Everything was just...so delicious.

Then we went strawberry picking. It was very fun and the strawberries were a little sweet in the middle, and a bit sour on the outside (well, strawberries are meant to be a little sour).

I love the hayride. You can see the beautiful meadows, picking areas, and farm.

We also snipped our own greens!

And to finish the day, we got some delicious homemade ice cream! So goood

So overall, I definitely recommend coming! I definitely AM going back for the blueberry festival!

So glad I found this farm with such fun activities...

So glad I found this farm with such fun activities during the fall. I have been here a couple of times already and I always enjoy the vast farm space with various fruits to pick from. I have come here during mid- September where I still managed to find fresh apples to pick - with such a big variety of apple types. Also, I enjoy picking pumpkins during the Fall/Halloween time. I know they also have other fruits and veggies like strawberries, peaches, blueberries, sweet corn, potatoes but those are available early in the season which I have yet to go to. But they have vast fields with a hay ride to take you along the different fields.

During the fall they offer a Harvest Moon Hayrides & Night Time Corn Maze, which is the perfect deal to get to do various activities. The corn maze is very extensive and is easy to get lost if you are not paying attention but it is a fun time and great way to navigate with friends and family. They also have a petting zoo with horses, donkeys, sheep and goats. At night they have a huge bonfire with complimentary apple cider - it is tasty and nice to sit by the warm fire.

Will definitely be returning to this farm and highly recommend others to visit!

All homemade products for sale. Lots of activities for kids including hayride and pick your own apples and other things when in season. Their pumpkin ice cream was off the hook! A little on the pricey side but worth the price. Definitely a great place to bring the family.

Went to this farm and the prices are extremely high compared to what they were before (it's like 30$ now). My family and I used to come here all the time but the prices and the terrible way we were treated by the staff makes us reconsider whether we should return or not (probably the latter). We just wanted to spend a nice day together in family in nature, but we sadly had the opposite experience.

This place is not managed well at all. They let too many people in, apple trees all but picked clean, overpriced, and staff has no clue how to move people along. No one offered us a box or a map,. I'll be taking my family somewhere else next year. I get they're a business but the need to turn a profit outweighs the need for customer satisfaction and service. Very disappointed in Alstede.

Update: I spoke with Kurt Alstede, expressed my concerns with my experience, and he did right by us. We will be returning. Just not on Columbus day weekend. Their busiest day.

Overcrowded and overpriced farm that is only good for those with young kids. If you are an adult and looking for a place to relax and unwind and maybe have some decent food, this is not where you should be going. There are smaller farms nearby which are much calmer and less crowded. Nearby farms have free parking and nice little places where you could relax and enjoy the outdoors.

I ve been here years prior before but yesterday 10/26 was the first time I went with my boyfriend and we had a lot of fun!! I understand the expenses goes towards paying the people that work very hard on the farm, as it should but I d be lying if I said I wasn t surprised on how expensive it was just for two people. I was shocked for a little bit but it was ok. The only thing I would say is that everything is on top of each other, but that s just coming from someone who s a tad claustrophobic. There s a lot of reviews on here talking about how the lines are insanely long and they are but that s a Saturday for you. I knew it was going to be crowded especially around Halloween, but what pumpkin patch on a weekend in October isn t crowded? It was really enjoyable to see the little kids running around and having fun. If you re looking for a nice place to relax on the weekend with your spouse, or partner, friend whatever, I wouldn t recommend going on a weekend but more during the week if you can. It s quieter and not as many people. It had live music, which was a nice touch. It just added to the environment. I tried to go into the store to buy some apple cider donuts but the store is really small and there was a lot of people so I just gave up. It is what it is. I cant knock the place for being crowded. It s overall a really nice farm and usually in the fall, this is where I continue to come to go pumpkin picking.

Approaching Alstede Farms, located in the Northwest part of New Jersey, is a serene experience. I actually fell asleep on the ride there because of the contrasting atmosphere leading to the farms from the surrounding cities. I went there with a group of friends when I was younger so I can't comment much on anyone's current experiences but Alstede Farms was an alright experience for me. The mission was to go apple picking. I hadn't done it before so it wasn't necessarily the most fun thing to me but to each her own. I was educated by some of the owners about different types of apples and their seasons which I wasn't aware of before.

The land itself consists of more than one farm and is incredibly huge. I didn't know I would see farms like that in the US. The most interesting thing for me was coming face to snout with some of the biggest pigs I had ever seen! Cartoons really never prepared me for that. The horses there were also bigger than I envisioned as well as slightly intimidating.

If I were to travel back to the US I would love to visit here again. The adults who took us there chose not to buy food for us there due to the expenses but I believe if they made food a tad cheaper it would make life a little easy on visitors.

I used to like this place years ago before it became so popular. Now it's it very crowded and the prices went up, but that's to be expected. Years ago you used to get a credit for the PYOP when entering now that's gone. You also used to get a free box that now costs money. Over all its a fun experience but expect to pay a decent price for that. Some items are cheaper at a local produce stand but they do have good items prepared in their farm store.

Best Fruit & Veggie picking I have been too. May is perfect for a family outing to Alstede. There are special activities for the kids. Tractor rides which picking you up from entrance and drop you at the picking farm are awesome. Nice Breeze, well maintained place, friendly staff made our experience even more wonderful. They have homemade icecream which was OK and not upto our expectations.

We recently visited during the heat wave and we all loved the peach ice cream... best ive ever had. And you MUST try the raz lemonade slushie. Yum! We will definitely be back and hope to tale advantage of the sunflower field and pick ur own.
