I just love All About Cats. I had such a terrible experience with the unprofessional owner of another rescue. I was a little defeated but I figured I'd try again with another shelter. Upon my first visit, all the staff were great and informative. We found our little love (Baby) and we totally in love. We didn't want to go for a kitten because if you go there, you'll see a lot of loving adults cats. The adoption was done within the week and we are going on a month Friday with our new baby. I highly recommend visiting All about cats if you're looking to adopt a cat.

All about cats rescue is a terrific place with great people who volunteer there. It s very hard working with the public and not everyone will be happy. Sometimes there is no room to bring cats or kittens in. This is a private shelter with no government funding and it runs on donations so if they ask for a donation and you need help, give it. The public doesn t know the cost to care for 1 Cat in a shelter. Between the food litter medical laundry etc it adds up. The cats and kittens are very well taken care of. The volunteers give up their holidays to come in and care for them. If you are not happy tell them. Don t air your dirty laundry on here. You should be happy there is an extra place to take animals. Have a blessed day.

While it is simple to adopt cats at this location, it s honestly a pain in the behind. We ve went there 5 different times and still don t have our cat at home. We would call them and they would say everything is fine and we can come adopt however it s all lies just to make us come there. The shelter is very small, it smells, and is very crowded. The service there is horrible, we were waiting for hours and no one came to help us so we just left. Horrible experience.

I've never visited a Cat Rescue, and Adoption Center like All About Cats & Rescue, From the time i walked in the store it was a pleasurable experience, The way they care for the cats is just absolutely Professional, But in a way that each Cat & kitten is treated like a family member, The adoption experience i had with this facility was awesome, They make sure that the Pet you are adopting is going to fit in with your lifestyle

I went here recently looking to adopt an older cat. Once my boyfriend and I walked in it was immediately awkward. They honestly acted like they didn t want to give us their service. They showed us a few cats but I fell in love with tripod. He was older and had three legs and partially blind in one eye, I knew I would give him an amazing home. My track record with animals is pretty good. When it was time to fill out the paper work, I told the lady that I was unemployed due to COVID, there was no problem. She told me that I should expect a call the next day to pick him up, they never called or even emailed me. I tried calling them but they didn t answer, but when my boyfriend called right after they answered. They said it was because I was unemployed and he was a special needs cat. I m more upset that they led me to believe that I was going to give this 8 year old cat and opportunity to live in his forever home. They could ve told me while I was at the office that they didn t feel comfortable with adopting a cat to me. Also if he was so special needs then why did they have him of the 3 shelf of book shelf.

THIS IS FOR THEIR NEUTER CLINIC ONLY**

I took my 5 month old kitten to be neutered here on August 12th and wanted to wait a bit before posting a review. Firstly this is a much more affordable option than any other place I've called. The women who work here were wonderful and helpful. They make you feel at ease and talk you through any questions you might have. They seem to really care about each cat that comes through.

What I like about this place is that you can make an appointment unlike the ASPCA mobile clinics which are first come first serve. Their neuter clinic is not every day, so make sure to call in and inquire on their next date and make an appointment.

The neuter/spay clinic is BEHIND the actual store front in a separate trailer type thing in their parking lot. Make sure you bring your kitten in a carrier. 1 cat per carrier!

For $85, you get the rabies vaccine, the feline distemper vaccine, ear cleaning, nail trim and neuter or spay. At my local veterinarian it costs $45 for just 1 of the vaccines. You can also add the microchip option for $25.

My kitten didn't need a cone after the surgery. It says online that newer surgery techniques don't use traditional stitches so the kitten isn't in danger of pulling them out or infecting the incision site. And after 3 weeks my kitten has been fine without a cone, so I'm assuming they're using these newer techniques.

I took the LIRR in and dropped him off, got some food at a nearby diner, and picked him up a couple hours later. My kitten Pluto was awake and I hadn't realized he had been drugged at all until we got home. I noticed he was drowsy and wobbly when I left him out of his carrier (and managed to get a pretty funny video of him looking kind of drunk). However after a nap and his dinner around 8pm.. he was running around like his usual hyper little self.

It's been 3 weeks since his surgery and there have been no complications at all. And while the first day and half he seemed to eat normally, about the 2nd to 4th day he was eating a little less. I read this can happen because this is when the medication fully leaves their system and the kitten feels more sore. So don't be too worried if that happens to your kitty too.

I'm so grateful that this place exists and was able to take my kitten.

from NJ to long island NY to look at kittens. For the past few days I have been communicating with a woman on the phone. She has been helping me with all my questions and even emailing me pictures. I'm traveling 2 he's because my son and i are looking for a particular cat. I will follow up after our visit.
Visit was even more better than I could imagine. Very clean and an awesome selection.

This is the only cat/kitten shelter I'll adopt from in the future. I absolutely love this place, and all the people who work there really care about their animals. I try to donate when I can because they're a small operation.
There is just a small, reasonable donation fee to adopt.
The kittens have large play pens to play in, and the cats have free roam. Because of the compassionate environment, (and the ability to comfortably roam around the shelter, which looks like a home) all of the animals are very friendly and comfortable with living in a home with people already.
When I first went there, they allowed me to look around and play with kittens, and choose whomever I liked.
You can take your chosen kitten home that day if you want to, but I could not, so they helped me to reserve him, and continued to care for him for a week until I was able to bring him home. I absolutely adore him. Thank you!!!

We got another little cutie on Saturday! I must say All About Cats in Freeport is the best Cat/Kitten Rescue on Long Island. The staff is really caring and loving. I love everything they do there. Keep on rescuing!!

They were very busy when we walked in but the girl who helped up was great. She stopped what she was doing and attended to us. We went in looking for a kitten and left with an 8yr old cat. Olivia is the best thing to happen to our family.! Its been one week she still hides in her safe spot but let's us pet her and she rubs up all over our hands. She's now eating and roaming around at night and making good progress. Everything was the same day we walked in. One other thing was I was given the run around by an organization I won't name. All about cats made that same process easy and quick!

Horrible experience. I decided to adopt a cat for my daughter s birthday. They where unprofessional, they ignored us both times like we were not there. The worst thing is that even when I went the second time they didn t had the courage to tell me that I was not accepted but they just sent me off with the owner will call you back . The way that I was treated was very bad. One way or another I will adopt a cat but I wanted to adopt from a shelter and do good. But I guess they really dont know how to judge people.

I went in this place to see about getting a kitten and the staff was COMPLETELY RUDE, saw me standing there and I waited a good 15 minutes while they chatted away with the women ahead of me (mind you they had 3 diff employees) had very horrible attitudes and I wound up walking out!!!! And I am a VERY outgoing and sweet person mind you. I wouldn't recommend ANYONE to give this place the time of day!!!! HORRIBLE STAFF AND SERVICE!!

I just called to get some help and information on what to do with a problem cat. Got spoken to like I was a complete idiot. The general drift of the conversation was that I should be more concerned about the welfare of the cat than my 3 month old grandson. I hope they are good with cats because their people skills leave much to be desired. Will not be back in contact with them for anything, ever.

Called and asked for help/guidance about re-homing a cat and the woman who answered went on a rant and told me no one will take her bc she's old, BUT she will take her if I give her $1,500!!! Couldnt believe my ears. So unprofessional. Places like this are supposed to HELP! Look elsewhere please. They only want your money

**DO NOT COME HERE!!**
tried getting a cat from here ; everything was going fine , paperwork and all (even tho girls personality was like s**t and rude like she didnt even wanna deal with people) until i decided i DID NOT want to buy their "special cat food" since im from jersey i wanted to purchase everything near my home instead but woman procedeed to call the "owner" and they spoke and now all of a sudden the cat is "SICK" so we cant take him ?? he wasnt sick an hour ago when i called and ask for that specific kitten over the phone , he wasnt sick 10 minutes ago when i first got there to see the kitten so how all of a sudden hes sick ?? i think its TOTAL BS theyre just upset because i didnt want to purchase their "special cat food" whatever "special cat food" their selling can be sold ANYWHERE if not petsmart, petco or on amazon it CAN be purchased elsewhere , so we decided to not get anything and i asked for all the paperwork that i filled out back simply to rip it up because well you no longer need ANY of my information due to the fact that i didnt purchase ANYTHING and i say purchase because well $135 , $100 for the obligated donation and $35 for the kitten itself oh and let me not forget the $7 for the box the cat needs to come in.. so if you dont spend enough amount of money they WANT you to spend then your just not going to get your kitten so go elsewhere !

Should be named All About Kittens . In my opinion owner/director Cindy seems to want to have her cake and eat it too. My son and I found a young Mother Cat and her 3 kittens (so cute!!), in July who were in danger of being killed on a busy street. After several calls and weeks she agreed to see abandoned cat and kittens. But once I got to the "cat" shelter I was told we never said we would take the mother, don t bring her in . With that I asked to speak to Cindy to remind her of our conversation. To make a long story short, they asked how much of a donation I could make before agreeing to accepting the mother cat and her kittens. I was so upset by the next set of events...I agreed to write $100 check right then ( I am a single mother with 2 jobs to make ends meet) and there only to be told, we ll take the kittens but bring the mother back home to socialize her and come back in a week with a CASH donation . I became very suspicious when the recommendation was to split the mother cat and kittens.

A week later and a $100 donation another excuse was provided that the other ( the less adoptable mother was again rejected) I had to take her back home again to continue to care for her. Guess what? It s now December, my donation remains and I am continuously told they can t take the young mother. To add insult to injury, I was further told, in a very condescending manner, Rescue is a complicated business and Cindy told me she didn t need to explain it to me.

I wanted readers to hear about my experience that this rescue, in my opinion, wants to only "rescue" the more lucrative kittens however leave cats out in the cold- so truth in advertising- this selective rescue should be more forthright and change its name to "all about kittens" - cats not welcome.

****DO NOT COME HERE***

****DO NOT COME HERE***
All About Cats is a business that only cares about money and not about their customers. The store is horrible organized and is so cluttered. The employees are very rude and inconsiderate of their customers and their cats. Me and my family walked in with a very nice attitude and we were very very nice and respectful; We had no reason to be mean and disrespectful. We took our time, kept our composure and we're still very respectful about the whole situation. As time went on they got very disrespectful and gave us so much attitude. We tried keeping the situation calm. We went on with the whole form and everything about the cat.. And they tried to sell us food that was way overpriced, because we saw ones at Petco and Petsmart that were way cheaper and more reasonable as a price.. Just because we wanted to switch buying the food to a more reasonable and comfortable area and store; they told us they weren't "comfortable" with the whole adoption of the kitten. Before all of this, we told them that we own 5 cats (which is true) and we are very educated on how to take care of it. But after that we started to get yelled and screamed at.. Just so you all know , I was here with my 15 and 16 year old daughters and they heard and experienced this whole thing which was very inappropriate and immature of them to do in front of them.. During this whole thing , they started cursing and put their hands on me and my family. My family and I could not get one single sentence in. This was supposed to be a birthday present for my daughter and a great time.. But in the end it was a disaster and a complete and utter horrible memory for them. Which concluded in them ripping up our papers for the kitten and my daughters to come out crying. I do not advise and encourage anyone to walk in to this so called "pet store" , for it will not turn out well.

So back on August I adopted my baby Massimo. I live in Staten Island and found this place online. First off it was well worth the drive because not only is the staff friendly and the place clean but the cats are not locked in cages and all seem very happy. The babies are kept in play plans with food and water tons of toys and blankets. I would highly recommend this place to anybody even if they aren't from long island. The drive is well worth it and you won't be disappointed if you are adopting or dropping off.

These low star, and terrible reviews, are TOTALLY wrong. Before going to this place, the first place I looked was here to see what other people think. These reviews scared me and almost made me not come to this wonderful place. I ended up going, and the people there, are AWSOME! The area is small, but filled with cats and kittens. They love their cats and really now them. The lady that helped us was Linda. She was so kind. She was so patient and so sweet even after we asked LOTS of questions. She kept telling us to take our time, and stood with us. As we were looking at all the cats, she was describing how each of their personalities were. She even sat on the floor, and carefully fed them. All of the lady s that worked there were so friendly, and gave you all the advice you needed. All these other reviews are ridiculous. Anyways, this is a GREAT place to adopt a kitten/cat and I totally recommend!!

Very nice establishment with friendly staff and lovely cats. It's very clean and the cats and kittens are well taken care of. They welcome you to come right in and play with the cats, in a low key atmosphere with no pressure. They happily answer any questions you may have. I highly recommend visiting whether you're looking to adopt a kitty or you just want to visit to pet and play with them.

Amazing place. You can tell the staff really loves what they do. They truly care about every single cat they take care of. My wife and I adopted this beautiful kitten. Well she practically adopted us when she climbed into my wifes purse. Maka (formally known as Lana) is the best thing to come into our lives and we are so grateful for All About Cats.

These ladies who run the place are awesome. I ve met most of them through the few times that I came in before adopting. Very knowledgeable caring and loving. They know every kitty by name. You can really tell they are cat lovers.
Unfortunately my kitten was very sick. I adopted my kitten with the sniffles, they provided medication that they had already been giving him. When my kitten turned 5 months he had a bloated belly one morning, which was alarming for me.. took him to the vet and 3 days later he was diagnosed with the wet form of FIP. The rapid Lethal infection that is incurable. 3 weeks later we lost our baby. It was absolutely devistating.
I ve come to learn about this disease and it s very contagious. It s found in large quantities in the saliva and feces of cats, so it can be transmitted through cat-to-cat contact and exposure to feces. The virus can also live in the environment for several weeks. The wet form is devistating and quick. We lost our baby within 3 weeks of diagnosis. And we did everything we could. Kittens with lower immune systems are the ones who get this disease. It s pretty rare but it s seen in Catteries where many kittens are kept together.

I ve also learned that it s the risk you take when adopting from a cattery.

All About Cats Rescue has adult cats and kittens available for an adoption fee.
The cats are all very friendly and are allowed to roam freely throughout the "cozy home-like" atmosphere. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful and caring. All the animals are healthy. I adopted two kittens from there two years ago and i am very happy. I bring them back for nail trimmings.
Right next door is Meadowbrook Animal Hospital, which has provided excellent care for my cats. I highly recommend All About Cats Rescue for anyone who is looking to adopt a cat or kitten.

We have adopted two wonderful cats from All About ...

We have adopted two wonderful cats from All About Cats, and it has been our most wonderful adoption experiences over the years we, as an extended family, have ever had. The cats live a life of leisure there, and have free range of the rooms during the day. There is no shortage of neat things to buy to keep your cat/kitten happy all day long. The best part is, you can choose a cat, and leave with it that day. In the past, I've had people come to my home, from other places before letting us adopt a cat, to inspect our living conditions...which are pretty posh, by the way. Meanwhile, their cats were living in cages in the backs of station wagons!
All About Cats is full of caring, knowledgeable people who do a great job of finding loving homes for the many, many homeless cats that are in need of stability and love. <3 <3

As soon as I walked in there was a elder woman tall skinny dark short hair and wears glasses. She was rude from the second we walked in. At a certain point she was on the phone and I was petting a kitten and she makes the person hold and with an attitude yells please don't touch those kittens they're adopted. I immediately got up and said i didn't know that, it would have been nice to have been told that before I was already attempting to play with them. If you don't enjoy your job then don't work there. But don't act like an unprofessional miserable b*tch.

I called to know if they can take in kittens I found outside my house. The lady told me I need to donate $100 per kitten in order for them to take them in. I don't think this is how rescue organization works. I will donate if I want to donate. You should not make it a requirement to take in kittens in need of help!

I came here to adopt a kitten and the lady helping us was very rude and kept getting annoyed at our questions as if it was our fault it was our first time getting a kitten. Although the cats in this place are very cute it s very unfortunate the representation they have! Almost like they don t want them to find homes!

They lie on how they obtain the cats. They take already chipped cats, steal them, then try to sell them for a profit. Very unethical and not to be trusted. They are just in it for money not about saving cats. They steal and lie.

I really liked the place. They are very helpful very easy to deal with. Provide free services with the adoption, like shots and neutering/spaying. You could also get all necessary supplies on a spot with the adoption. We love our new member of the family!

Fabulous place! They really love cats! They do not interrogate you like other places do. They do not give you a hard time at the adoption, like other places do. You can come out of this place with a cat in your hands at the same day! The volunteers are very friendly people!

What an awesome place to visit and adopt a kitty! ...

What an awesome place to visit and adopt a kitty! The kittens and cats are remarkably socialized and everyone working at the place is extremely knowledgeable about the history and personalities of each cat. They allow you plenty of space and time to bond with the kitties and figure out which one might be a right fit for you, your household and your family.

In addition, when adopting, they provide you a great deal of information on proper foods, feeding times, how to introduce a new cat into a home that already has a cat living in it, etc. They also cover vaccine shots and neutering/spaying for kittens.

Here s a picture of our beautiful Rocky the Rockstar from All About Cats Rescue.

I adopted a 1-year old tabby cat. Extremely friendly staff and accommodating for all types of owners, especially those who never had a cat before like myself. They instructed me on how to house, feed, and care for the cat.
